“Well Carrot was the cheapest new driver insurance and I think they achieve this by having a dashboard which rewards you on how well you are driving so actually gets you into the habit of driving gently, therfore reducing the chances of an accident. And their online help Chat is extremely responsive and the staff are really helpful.”

“Good price insurance perfect for learner drivers. Very easy to set up and the live chat option saves a lot of time and always helps with problems fast and efficiently. Their call line is also great and wait times aren’t too long. Blackbox technology used was better than expected and earning rewards from driving well is also a big plus. Would definitely recommend !”

“good and the customer service team is very helpful and assisted me with all my questions. however, the black box technology is constantly rating my “usage” score low which is negatively impacting my overall score even though my speed and smoothness is great.”

“I spoke with a member of staff on live chat who sorted my problems straight away and was more than helpful and sorted my problem in about 10 minutes which was perfect as I was just at work.”

“Not all black box insurers are the same…..that’s true…carrot are…well not worth a carrot. Honest, they will come up cheapest on the price comparison sites but they are awful!! Impossible to get good scores on their dashboard unless, you , we’ll hardly use your car, just turning your ignition on/off counts a a journey, they don’t like more than 7 journeys a day, they don’t like long journeys, they don’t like short journeys, they don’t like you out in rush hour. Etc etc and here’s the kicker, if you get three red weeks on the run or 5 in a year, then they cancel your insurance and then try getting insured once an insurer has cancelled yiur policy, especially if your young, your basically f@cked, honestly, just avoid. Now my sons with co op, he’s driving exactly the same, same hours etc and his score on their dashboard is excellent.”

Hello Callum, Thank you for your review! Our aim at Carrot is to make the roads as safe as possible by giving our customers feedback on their driving. We offer rewards based on your driving style score, the better you drive the more you can earn. If you have a negative score this can lead to cancellation however, we provide warnings prior to cancellation to give our customers the opportunity to improve their driving behaviour going forward as we appreciate our new drivers are still finding their feet. “Very good price for insurance and the customer service is easily accessible at all times and the live chat is very useful. Definitely would recommend! Black box installation was also smooth and had no problems regarding that. The dashboard is also very useful and easy to use and view.”
