took the breakdown cover but when they inspected our boiler they asked for all previous service reports which I am sure they know no one keeps so they have weaselled their way out of helping . I am never going to use them again - the engineer told us this was their way of getting out of helping so its obviously a tactic they frequently use don't use their insurance they will tryand worm out of helping you

Unfair cancellation fee. When I sold my car halfway through the policy period, Churchill charged me the full value of the rest of the policy. Their small print does warn you of this, but it's completely unreasonable. Especially when customers who pay annually receive a refund if they cancel the policy. I wrote a letter of complaint. No reply after 3 months. They sent the debt collectors. Not Impressed.

Purchased van insurance with Churchill via Comparethemarket in early may. Somehow wrong registration on insurance and stopped by police Ring Churchill and they’ve got no record of me Turns out they sold me on to a Broker named Brightside who in turn sold me on to insurer NIG. NIG are impossible to contact, Brightside say they are just a broker and Churchill say it’s nothing to do with them ????? Churchill won’t even accept a complaint even though it says Churchill at the top of the insurance certificate. They just pass you to Brightside who say they’re just a Broker. Absolutely disgraceful in all aspects, if I’d wanted to buy a policy from NIG I’m pretty sure I could have without this lot taking a cut. In short they’re happy to take the premium but that’s it, you’re on your own . Avoid.

Agreed insurance premium to be paid churchill then charge an extra £157 which was unauthorised this is fraud and theft leaving my elderly grandparents in financial difficulty said they going to refund it that was a month ago this company are a joke would have given zero stars but that's not an option

never never use this company as they are a bunch of scam artists.just tell you a load of lies call center is a joke with nobody who seems to know what they are talking about .wish i could give it no stars as they do not deserve any . anyone who is reading this please take not do not renew your policy if you havent had a claim i advise you to go to the proffessionals not the cowboy rip off artists that they are its all lies until you make a claim trust me and read all other reviews the bad reviews are all correct a big sorry to anybody who has delt with then it should show a cowboy in the add not a dos as it would be more apt STAY CLEAR ITS WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN PROMISE.

Extremely disappointed (and increasingly angry) about our home insurance product. Following many years of not a single claim we reported an accidentally broken ceramic hob. We have been referred to a third party agency to handle the claim, which is now, two months later (!!) telling us that they will forward it to ANOTHER third party agency with no estimated date of resolving the claim. We still have nothing to cook on because we were told that we must not replace our hob as that may invalidate our claim. Any call to Churchill is redirected to the third party agency and effectively left with no answer whatsoever. Horrible service so far.

Quoted me over £520 for the same insurance that my local independent company offered me for £375, and I get personal treatment with them being a shop in my own town. Churchill is a rob dog!

Their customer service is none existent. A customer of theirs drove into me and was completely at fault. When approached for my excess back as they are liable to pay it, they’ve ignored my letters, messages and emails for 3 weeks. I’m in my early 20’s and just bought a house and it put me in the position where I had to take a loan out to cover this unexpected cost which isn’t even my fault and they don’t even have the decency to respond to me. Absolutely disgraceful company at handling claims.. Was hit by a drink driver in a hit and run, they arent authorising repairs as they believe it wasnt caused by the accident (the accident was in the middle of the night, which nobody saw and the man was drunk!! how can they determine this!!) Engineer was rude in expressing his concerns, basically calling me a liar. Handled badly from start to finish, no communication have to constantly ring them for answers!! DO NOT USE !!!

Worst company you can ever have insurance with my advice to people is stay away from this company they are a scam artist they will Rob you without you realising I had my second year running insurance with them when you have a crash they will make you life hell like they did to me they have not paid me out for my car they put two claims against me which is I had no idea about the accident report came back as both parties are in fault but they decided to put it against me no I've lost my car I've lost my money for my car they are not interested and not even willing to communicate with me I will never have insurance by these again even if they offered it Me for free stay away people my advice to you

Their computer systems are so rubbishy they automatically renewed the policy. My cancellation was not taken seriously, now they want £29.12 cancellation fee,. PS . Only payment method is by phone, what about the hard of hearing.

Abysmal outfit. My renewal quote was 20% higher, so I cancelled and went with Direct Line. Their computer systems are so rubbishy they automatically renewed the policy! My cancellation was not taken seriously !

I would not recommend dealing with this company. No wonder the dog looks guilty at times. I have been with Churchill on and off over the years for car insurance. Recently I received a renewal premium (maximum no claims) with a price hike that was frankly ludicrous and an annual cost grossly non-competitive against a range of other reputable insurance underwriters. The company appears to operate its strategy on a presumption that I am sufficiently gullible not to run a few online checks. Winston Wolfe and Direct Line turn out to be rather more believable than an over-indulged, sneaky-eyed mutt called Churchill!

I have been with them several years, and with maximum NCB. This year, the renewal premium was increased by over 20%. Why? They obviously do nor want me as a customer, so I have left, and joined Direct Line, at a significantly lower premium for the same policy. Alas, they were not prepared to negotiate, customer loyalty is unimportant to them.

Awful! You pay a premium for a reason but they make you do it all yourself and lie to you! A drunken driver drove into our driveway destroying 2 walls and damaging 2 cars and writing another 1 off (also with Churchill) clear case with the police even baffled as to why 7 months on our excess still not returned nor our walls rebuilt!! Stay away!!

I used emergency home cover and called at 8.am as I have a leak. They said someone would be with me shortly and I’m still waiting. Called to check on progress they said they were unable to contact their supplier and suggested I made my own arrangements which they would pay for. Outrageous and not fit for purpose. I will now not renew my home buildings car and breakdown cover when the current policies end.

Terrible! Trying to change my vehicle on policy from a high spec SUV ( ABI Grp 47 ) to a standard hatchback, apparently the new premium is too expensive and they can't insure the new vehicle - so a household brandname insurance company cannot cover an ordinary vehicle! Asked for an explanation of why premium would be so high, this isn't provided to call centre staff and underwriters are not a customer facing team! As a chartered underwriter myself, I find this whole situation disgraceful and not customer focussed! Only option available is to cancel policy ( paying any admin fees ) and move elsewhere as an insurance company will not take on a reduced risk! Absolute joke
