In June 2022, I was involved in an accident caused by a reckless motorcyclist who overtook a line of cars at excessive speed on a road clearly marked with "two parallel lines and diagonals between them"—indicating that crossing was only allowed when absolutely necessary. I was turning right to go home, well within my legal rights, with multiple witnesses to the incident. The attending police officer documented everything on the scene, including witness statements. However, when I filed my claim, this insurance company began dragging their feet. They kept giving me empty promises of resolution, repeatedly telling me “tomorrow” only for nothing to change. They then claimed they couldn’t contact the witness and, incredibly, couldn’t include the police officer's report in the case file. This is completely absurd and reeks of incompetence. To make matters worse, they disregarded the road markings that were crucial to proving my innocence. As a result, I was unjustly denied the return of my £700 Excess Amount, simply because, according to them, there was "no proof" that I wasn't at fault. This is nothing short of legalized extortion! This company is unprofessional, unreliable, and clearly not interested in providing the service they promise. Save yourself the headache and avoid them at all costs!

If I could give this company zero stars I would! I have 3rd party fire and theft on my current car with Churchill, as it’s only worth £400, I called Churchill for a quote on a vehicle I’ve not yet purchased, the car I’m purchasing costs £6,000 I was asked the value by a female called Khayak Azi in the Cape Town call centre, she put all the details through and she said that my quote had been “declined due to the high value of the car” £6,000?? NOT high value at all! Khayak has put the quote through as 3rd party fire and theft!! NOT fully comp! She even laughed at me over the phone when I became upset!! I asked to speak to a supervisor and just as I expected no supervisor available! Churchills advertising implies all the time that this is a UK company! British Bulldog, British Mini Cooper, how can they treat people like this! I am now going to have to cancel the car that I have put a deposit on due to no company willing to insure me after I have to declare that I have had a policy ‘declined’ I am taking this all the way! FCA Ombudsmen, escalating this to the very top and taking solicitor advice! Absolutely disgusting service, this major problem that this has created for me is down to South Africa call centre operative Khayak Azi who took my call on the 24/07/2024 at 19:30 pm

everyone should be very careful i got scammed on this company twice, fortunately i was very lucky to get a recovery company site from my good friend who has been scammed $185,400, I contacted the company which she directed me and that company instructed me what to provide for them which I did and they also gave me guidelines about scammed companies. In two days time after I did what they instructed me to do I was able to get my $78,900 funds back and I'm very very happy honestly speaking, I should have dropped this company site link here, but this scam company refused. you can help yourself out by contacting their mail if you are a victim too [victimsrecoveryeducation AT cyberservices. com] thanks.

No UK based contact. Two call centres abroad but I seem only to get through to India and the accent make it very difficult to follow. My car was hit by 2 electric vehicles while parked. I filled out the online forms and have supplied all the information requested but am getting no further forward after a week. I keep getting reminders saying they haven't received the info despite getting receipt acknowledgement through their system. I'm replying to them then received yet another automated answer telling me to e mail another address. The whole setup is a shambles and I have been a Churchill client for a few years now but have never needed to make a claim. Not to be recommended.

Complete and utter shambles. The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Changed my registration plate, underwriters then refused to insure the car so I had no choice but to cancel the policy. I was advised all further charges would be waived. Fast forward 5 months and I find out as part of a mortgage application that Churchill have lodged a default on my credit profile. I am now unable to remortgage my house at a competitive rates. They have completely screwed my credit score through no fault of my own.

It’s week 5 since our flat roof was blown off by the storms and we are still in limbo and with only a temp fix roof above our and my baby son’s head, Churchill has made no efforts to resolve the issue so that we could arrange a permanent fix. We have no idea where the claim is stuck, each day we call they are telling us something different and when we get transferred to the mentioned department, they say it is not with them. I am worried they don’t care about their vulnerable customers like a baby or any of their customers. I will be turning to the Financial Ombudsman if this does not get resolved this week.

"Churchill provides good value insurance that lightens the load by working hard for our customers to get everything seamlessly back into place so that they can relax and get back to enjoying life to the full." Or in my case. Churchill will neglect to add my car to the motor insurance database even when I remind them to leading to me receiving a notice of prosecution from the DVLA. They are then uncontactable leaving me exposed to a £1000 fine. Absolutely shocking.

Got a new car and wanted to change my insurance for the new car and they wanted to charge me nearly £100 for changing the car into of making my monthly payments more expensive. It was cheaper to pay to cancel my car insurance and I actually got a much better deal else where. Would never use this company again.

Terrible. Just awful. Cheaper policies but then they screw you if you need to make a claim. I had a no-fault claim and they treated me like a criminal. They just made up a number to pay me for my car, refused to enter any sort of dialogue, I was told they could make a number up, that was the process. Stated I had agreed to the amount. Lies. Twice. Complaints team repeated the lies, even when their legal department stated the correct procedure. I was told the legal team had no idea what they were talking about. It is clear Churchill's policy is to screw its customers. If anyone from Churchill's wants to respond with a direct contact number of someone who wants to sort this out, feel free. But not a stupid generic call centre number. Do that, and it proves the whole company is corrupt.

Another driver crashed into me in an accident which was not my fault. When I would not accept fault they cancelled my insurance and tried to take me to the small claims court to pay for the other party's costs. They will do literally anything to avoid paying a claim. Crooks.

Absolutely disgraceful company, verging on fraudulent. Have had my claim for over 6 months, I’ve provided all appropriate details - including a police crime number (which is a complete waste of the Police’s time) - yet the claim is still open. They have now stopped responding to emails and phone calls and I really don’t know what else to do. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY.

They cause so much stress that if they fitted you with a blood pressure monitor your life insurance premium would rocket, it's like dealing with a bunch of deliquents with intermittent amnesia.

My experience with Churchill after a non-fault claim has been truly awful, and I will never use them again as a result. From the outset, the process was plagued by delays and confusion, with multiple claim handlers and missed appointments. Their handling of my car valuation was particularly frustrating. Both Churchill and CoPart offered the same incredibly low offer, having first outsourced the initial write-off valuation to CoPart, a salvage auctioneer who profits from lower valuations due to a clear conflict of interest: the lower they set the value, the more money they make. They relied solely on outdated guides, completely ignoring my evidence of advertisements for dozens of similar vehicles (and one or two identical models) for way above what they were offering. Only after an official complaint did it come to light that one of the guides they usually use, AutoTrader, gave them a valuation that was much closer to reality than the other 3 guides. However, they discounted it completely and didn't use it as part of their calculation. Churchill didn't understand my frustration at them ignoring one of their own guides and literally dozens of comparable examples from the market simply because they were higher than what they wanted to give me. Notably, of the guides they use, only AutoTrader allows you to actually purchase a vehicle, and unsurprisingly, it was the only one that matched the reality of prices I see. Furthermore, they conveniently ignored the fact that they didn't discount the lowest valuation as an "outlier," only the highest. Churchill cancelled my policy (that included cover to drive family members' cars) without my consent when it had 6 months remaining. To add insult to injury, even though I had paid annually for 12 months and they had cancelled it against my wishes, they also advised me they would not refund the remaining 6 months' premium! I do not care what they slip into the small print of policy documents; this is just plain unacceptable. After a time-consuming and emotionally draining official complaint, their final offer of a mere £200 did nothing to compensate for the inconvenience or the loss of my beloved car. It barely covered the remaining premium which they refused to refund. Overall, Churchill's unfair practices, lack of communication, and complete disregard for my situation have left me feeling frustrated and unsupported.

Having to install a Drivesure app at 62 years of age so they can monitor my driving! Absolutely nuts! This ensures you get a cheaper policy but surely what about an age limit and those without internet access? I am not happy to be monitored by GPS regarding my whereabouts and my driving ability thank you but will pass on this one.
