Our house insurance renewal came through and although had gone up quite a bit we decided to proceed. We called them as needed to change my surname to my married name. The lady said it gone up again and she couldn't understand why and would call us the following day. The same evening we spoke to her an e mail came through stating our renewal, with name change had gone through at the amount first quoted. Then my husband gets a call the next day to say the increase was correct as we are now married and somehow a higher risk, very odd as they had already completed renewal. I called and a man then told me it would be jncreased but could not give me a reason why being married makes you a higher risk when asked. I have raised a complaint by e mail but so far no response

Ten years ago I took out a Liv flexible Investment Bond paying £300.00 a year over 10 years. Policy now matured payout very poor indeed only received £3600.00 after ten years!!! Disgusting investment return no doubt investment eaten away by Lv investment chares a total disgrace

Had an accident 27th May, no repair to vehicle as of yet, and no contact as to when. Spoke to a man there this morning! He said hang on and I'll make a call, 26 minutes later and still on hold I terminated the call. Registered another complaint, although at this point I feel its a waste of time. I then received another call today from the companies engineer to say what do I want to talk to him about! I replied that I hadn't requested a call from him. He said he had authorised my repair, to which I replied yes but when? A total waste of time and effort. Certainly won't be renewing mt cover with them in future, and now need to contact the ombudsman to try and get my vehicle repaired as no-one at LV seem either interested or haven't a clue! M.Mayes

LV income protection what a joke. My partner was off work sick. We waited 5 months on a decision, got further into debt and they didn't pay out a penny! Put your hard earned money in a safe place so it's there when you need it. Do not give it to LV.

absolutly ridiculous wanted to change car on insurance on hold for 58 minutes lost the will now.

Phoned LV to take up car insurance quote. Warning that "we are busy and calls could take half an hour before being answered" Fair enough. Every ten minutes a message - "your call is important to us we will be with you shortly". One and a half hours later I gave up. So LV have lost my business this time and in the future.

We tried to take out a policy online, but the LV system glitched and did not complete the payment. However, the transaction was recorded on our credit card account consuming £1000 of credit and leaving us unable to make a second payment. Ultimately we were left with an uninsured car, and LV said there was nothing they could do other than take out (expensive) temporary insurance at our cost. A terrible way to treat a customer given it was an LV system issue. They could have organised temporary cover, or provided cover until the pending payment cleared, allowing a second try. Awful experience. I don't need LV to explain what happened, but to explain why they were unable to recitfy an issue they caused

Just hope that your windscreen doesn't break. You have to go to Autoglass who have closed their depots and laid off staff so while my local garage can fit a screen in 5 days, LV expect me to be without a car for 14 days - and I don't expect to get a rebate on the insurance charge while I can't use it. You can't even talk to LV, they automatically direct you to Autglass.

Instead of finding a reason to pay out a legitimate claim they will think up any reason NOT to pay!….using these guys is as good as throwing your money away! Bad for business this company is and they send you from pillar to post. Zero stars for their shocking business ethic

The board members which make policy decisions have zero morals and treat their long term customers with no respect. Reduced my father's life insurance policy value by nearly £5000 and did not make him aware this change of policy. They responded to his complaint and advised that they did not think it necessary to tell him... disgusting and immoral practices. I definitely do not recommend this firm to anyone.

I took Income protection with LV. Four months before Christmas I went out of work injured. Dragged the claim on right up until February the following year then told me they wouldn’t pay me even though my injure was legitimate. X-Rays, doctors, physio and they made me wait six months before telling me they wouldn’t be paying and I can have my premiums back. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Left me with no money and struggling over Christmas with four kids to care for. Filth of the earth. If there was a minus 10 stars, I’d click that. STAY AWAY!! FAMIUS FOR NOT PAYING OUT!!

Can’t thank this company enough after someone crashed into my car while I was on my holiday got a replacement car next day my car was taken to my home town and I was kept informed the whole time of what was happening unfortunately my car was written off but the customer service I got was fantastic any questions I had answered and not made to feel bad for asking them absolutely brilliant service and staff so professional and helpful

I had buildings and content insurance with this company. When heat treatment to my home irreparably damaged a large double glazed window frame I thought I was covered as double glazing was listed in my buildings insurance. But apparently not as LV= said they could not help me.

I have my car insurance with LV. I was hit by car wen I stop on zebra crossing. It been 3 months since the accident happened and my car han not been taken to garage yet because they can not organise replacing car and garage. I call them several times, now I find the is no way to call and Ino way to log in to my account. Never again Avoid it!

Someone ran into the back of my parked car on 20th April causing considerable damage. Contacted LV who arranged for the car to be picked up for assessment. Called later to give them the police Scotland crime number so they could access information from police in order to proceed with claim. I was asked to get drivers details from police so LV could make a claim from other driver’s insurance company. Data protection does not allow this and LV know data protection does not allow this but obviously trying to avoid paying the small charge levied for accessing this information. I have made several calls to find out if my car is to be repaired or written off and every time I am told that someone will get back to me the following day to let me know what is happening but they never call. I have been without my car for 10 days now and would really like some resolution.

Appauling customer service. I was struggling with one payment after being made very I'll and hospitalised. The only option they gave me for missing this payment was to cancel my policy and no longer be insured. I would however be liable for the rest of the policy but could pay it in smaller amounts. The woman was abusive and bullying on the phone. As a vulnerable adult I feel appalled. in 2 years I needed help delaying one payment and they were only interested in destroying my credit score and threatening me if I don't pay. Appauling company

Processed payment online, asked to confirm billing address - no screen to check personal details like address - only billing address. Called to advise the address is wrong, less than 5 minutes after payment to be faced with an admin fee to change. No thanks!! Now with another insurer that cost marginally more but actually gives a lot more cover and extras included in the price. Check what you’re buying, they may look good but you can find cheaper elsewhere. Woman on the phone couldn’t have cared less about losing my custom, no sense of value to paying customers so won’t consider again in future.
