“Well I have used this company for many years. They have always been competitive on price. I now know why. They will happily take your money but the moment that you want to cancel its a completely different matter. I have email logs stating that an email left my servers for them to say that I wanted to cancel the policy. The refuse to accept that they received them. Lesson learned - set your email to ask for delivery receipt. When I eventually used their forms to contact took two weeks to respond. Sent me an email asking if I really wanted to cancel? Because we had some family issues I wasn't able to answer straight away. When I did answer apparently my answer was outside of acceptable time scales and I would need to start the process again. And a bill for £46.48 and a cancellation charge. THIS COMPANY ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY. DO NOT USE AND READ THE OTHER REVIEWS BELOW WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THEM. I WISH I HAD. USE AT YOUR PERIL!!!”

“Payed the deposit. Then call email to say my occupation was wrong. Then another email to say they got to make amendments costing another £30… really not good beware!!!”

“Don't use. They quoted me a good rate and which I paid in one instalment. Having got my money they then refused to accept my proof of no claims, cancelled the policy and kept the money. Nice work if you can get it I guess.”

“I have had a 300vespa insured with you for two years I had just re-newed a month ago! For £153 ish. I have changed my bike to a BMW 800 and was told I had to pay another £243 ! I explained could get insurance with another company for £150 I was told well that’s the deal I was told it was gone cost me £50 to cancel plus the month I had had already ! I sed I wanted to cancel I was so so disappointed that your company was gone screw me over. I was put through to cancellations that after a long talk charge me a £50 to stay .... I WILL NOT be insured with you next year shame on the way you conduct you business you must be so disappointed in the company you work for I would be”

“Awful insurer, refused to reply to any e-mails, refused to give me a refund even though I had 4 months left on my insurance when I sold my motorbike, they also refused to transfer the insurance to my new bike, they completely refused to insure my new bike as it was a brand new bike, 0 miles, yes that's correct, they are useless. They even had the nerve to tell me over the phone to buy a different bike so that they could insure me... wtf. Yes I'll buy another bike after i have just spent over 10k on one because you cant do your job which is to insure bikes! my god, SERIOUSLY PEOPLE DO NOT TOUCH THESE JOKERS WITH A BARGEPOLE!.”

“Extremely poor service, I completed a quote and paid my insurance documents were returned compulsory excess increased from £250 to £550, I questioned this and was given a number of excusses. They refused to honour my original quote so I cancelled it, I was charged £25 for this. I have now made a complaint to the financial obmudsman. Do not use this company thats all they are interested in is taking your money and not giving you a service.”

“Seemingly normal at first i took insurance out on a motorcycle, cheap monthly payments of 15 pounds a month cheers easy. I had to cancel the policy as i went into surgery, an admin fee of about 30 pounds and that was all i heard from them...untill a few months later where they handed all my details to a debt collection agency and i apparently owe 90 pounds for unpaid amount on my policy. Motorcycle direct didn't contact me directly just sent debt collectors after a made up sum of money.will never use this company and highly recommend no-one does.”

“Auto renewed my insurance just before a Bank Holiday. I contacted them asap but they said they would have to charge me a cancellation fee. I said it was a different contract as the price had gone up. They then offered me £10 off. I asked why they hadn't offered me the cheaper price to begin with and they said blah blah blah.”

“Awful company. They cancelled my insurance even though my lender was happy to continue, basically I missed one monthly payment had no letter from them at all just a text message stating insurance due to be cancelled in 24hrs so I called them up and they had already cancelled it, rather then fighting them I said I would start a new claim but the lovely call handler decided to hang up. Avoid this company don't know where they get there employees but they are more suited to debt collection.”

“Tried ringing them to change my credit card details as they were going to auto renew, spent over 30 mins just waiting for someone to answer, cannot believe this day and age there is no other way to contact these people than on phone. Finally answered phone lady was good & cancelled policy (hopefully) without any real hassle”

“Just cancelled my policy. Was happy to pay the £50.00 cancelation fee, but then the guy starts quoting me more cancellation fees for buying the policy originally through a 'Comparison site' plus other fees for termination of non refundable charges such as breakdown cover, legal cover etc etc. And they have the balls to charge me for the phone call as well. Not impressed, they rip you off everway possible, it was almost not worth cancelling the policy and just let it run, eveen though I'd sold the bike. Will never use Motorcyle Direct again!”
