4/08/24 went to handforth pets at home store, the service is really bad and the sale advisior not helping at all and really rude. We want to buy a hamster and suppose to pay for that. However, the lady in the store keep to ask " do you have the large size cage for hamster, as we purchased 3 cages from pets at home we know we got the correct size of cage. But she try to ignore us and continu to convice us to buy another new one from the store again as we do not want to, we wait a long time at the end they send another lady out repeact to tell us " we need to check the size of cage again" this is really ridculous as their purpose just try to promote their business and attempt to gain more profit without showing any respect and choice for customer, it is really disappointed as a custmoer to be treat like such unkind and unprofeesinal service.

So this morning our cat came home and had a large weeping hole in his side. My wife told me to call Vets for Pets as he was registered with them so I did and was told it would cost £100 for an emergency vet consultation. When arriving at the shop we were told we would have to sit and wait until a space was created. Now I don't know about yourselves but an emergency consultation is for an emergency situation and not a 'well sit there until we can be bothered and charge you £100 for the privilege ' . I am fuming

A dishonest company selling goods that are out of stock. Collecting the fee immediately. Then extending the delivery date for reasons not further specified. In return, they offer you a cash refund within 7 days. Simply keeping money that is not theirs. They cannot be bothered to fix their mistake in an effective or even adequate way. Disconnecting or blocking a chat with a client. I honestly don't recommend it unless you want to give your money back for a week because you are an idiot.

We were buying ava dog food at first at 4 x £50 as we have 4 akitas and every month got a good few vouchers.then the price went up and the worst part was that the new app came along and all I was getting was vouchers off fish food or hamster food.in the end we stopped and went to another pet store and got a better food that was 50 percent salmon and trout for less.should have better deals for people spending alot there and £200 a month is a lot.will not be coming back...

Took our springer spaniel today to Norwich. The woman was grumpy unpleasant and rude . We asked for a short cut and nails clipped and after an hour our dog looks exactly the same except for a bath which we could have done ourselves. Charged £32. We now are booked with another groomer to do the job she was supposed to do. Never go back again!!

I have a hearing dog who was due to give a demonstration at short notice. Analyu, at the Putney Branch was absolutely marvellous and gave my dog a bath and groom during her lunch hour so my dog was all fluffy and fresh for the demonstration the next day. Thank you.

Took dog for full groom and nail clipping today. When I got her home I noticed nails at front were still long and back of hair near tail and underneath was not trimmed properly. Very disappointing waste of time and money.

Review of Pets At Home Your review is pending.Read more Clarke 22 reviews GB Rated 1 out of 5 stars My dogs grooming appointment at… My dogs grooming appointment at Titchfield was changed to 8am due to groomer having appointment. My dog is old and nervous so I said I would just walk him to groom room. Told by 'manager ' I couldn't do this as shop wasn't open and therefore no insurance. So what would have happened if something occured whilst my dog was being groomed. The 'manager ' ( dressed totally inappropriate and unprofessional) was most unpleasant. She said she would carry him to the groom room. When I said she would not pick my dog up. Her response was " I can touch any dog I want, I am the manager and this is my store". The staff from the groom who are normally OK were rude and unhelpful. After watching them trying to drag my dog through the store I stopped them and took my dog away. Within minutes my poor old boy was vomiting. When he was seen by the vet he was diagnosed with severe stress. Vet suggested I report PAH to the RSPCA. As with most big stores there was no one to make a complaint to. Spoke to manager and deputy manage at Fareham branch who contacted area manager. They were both really helpful and shocked at the situation. Area manager promised he would phone me on Wednesday ( today). No phone call. So not really surprised the vile manager at Titchfield PAH is so rude if her line manager doesn't stick to his promise and doesn't care how his staff behave. Will never set foot in there again

I needed advice on feeding my puppy, which is a fussy eater. The obviously senior male staff member I asked passed me to a woman colleague. She pointed out various dry kibbles, even though I said several times I wanted wet food. Mid conversation she walked off. She raised her arm as she passed the cash tills, speaking to the male person as she went. She said 'I can't deal with this woman. I'm not serving her.' I had not at any point been rude. I asked the male if I had upset her, but got no reply. He served me, giving good advice. I bought 2 food products on his advice and a further product I chose alone. This female staff member was unprofessional and rude. I hope she is disciplined. This is the second time I have had staff from this store behave inappropriately. They are frequently off hand, or show no interest in customer requirements. Very poor service.

I bought 2 angel fish from you and one week later they both died of fun rot, fun rot can only occur from birth and guessing they were born there, I will not be buying fish from you again.

Refused to let me return kitten food they sold me at reduced price It left my adult cats with diarrhoea and vomiting They told me the food would be fine and if not they would refund me The coleraine store were very ignorant in their dealings with me and to refuse to refund the three boxes out of four when they have signs all over the store telling you if your animals are not satisfied they will refund you Its all nonsense and very disappointing

Went to the aintree store yesterday and asked about purchasing some Malawi cichlids they had in a small tank labelled mixed malawis.I was asked by a member of staff what size tank I had, which I accept is a reasonable and responsible question to ask.I answered that it was a reasonable size( 4FTX2FTX2FT),I and that I was restocking it with african cichlids after re vamping it .I informed the member of staff it currently housed 1 bristle nosed plecostamus ,that had shared the set up previously with Mbuna, haps, peacocks etc with no issues. The staff member went away and came back to inform me that they would not sell me any cichlids as it was their policy not to sell them to be housed in an aquarium that housed other species other than african cichlids! The lack of knowledge of someone employed in her position astounded me.I cant claim to be an expert but have kept fish for the last 46 years, including African cichlids for the last 12.I told the employee that her companies policy was flawed,to be told to go somewhere else to buy fish.In the past I have used both Maidenhead Aquatics and Merseyside aquatic warehouse to purchase fish.I have always found their employees to be very knowledgeable and very helpful, and prepared to listen to a customer. My mistake obviously was to expect a company such as Pets at Home to employ people with a modicum of common sense and knowledge. In future I will stick to buying fish from the aformentioned alternatives.

Called in this morning Monday, Accrington branch my wife when up stairs to the vet to seek advice on a issue with our pet dog,,, only to be rebuffed by the grumpy reception, and told no one will give advise or take a quick look with out making an appointment and having to come back later in the week, as my wife turned to walk away she caught the receptionist pulling her face at her, when confronted she denied it ,but believe me she did, totally unacceptable, this store was once a friendly place but not any more, this is not the first time,,,,,,,, we will now be cancelling my pet’s health plan of £18 pm and joining Another vets that have been recommended,,

I went to the Pitsea branch to buy a single goldfish for a tank that was set up for my elderly ill farther, four weeks previously. I was told buy a very young and surly manager that they will not sell me the fish as my journey home to the tank was more than 20 mins. The manager was called after a long discussion on their headsets, and when I asked why , the only response I got was " its the company policy" to which I challenged how this policy was developed and through what expertise this was based. The response was "its the company policy" over and over. I have kept fish for over 45 years and am truly fed up with the total lack of any expertise and experience in ALL pets at home stores. Never going back to any store and will go out of my way to tell everyone to do the same.

Was going to rehome 4 adult rats which had been returned. They were hugely overweight and a year old. Rats only live two years. The reason I wanted to take them home is they were squashed into a small cage. The store wanted me to pay full price for four adult rats that they had already sold once. I explained I didn’t know how well they had been cared for and pointed out that they had been over fed and possibly had health problems. No luck. Rather than lose £6 per rat, they would keep them in a tiny cage until they die and are euthanized for not being profitable. Pets at Home are clearly more concerned with profit than animal welfare. Shocking. The staff wouldn’t even make a phone call to their manager to enquire. Folkestone store. AVOID.

Awful , rude, incompetent manager mainly ( clacton on sea ). Apart from that there were numerous order issues and now the £5 off voucher only comes after £100 not £50... this is the last straw! Pet drugs online is where my and my families money will go, even if it's more expensive at some point! I will actively encourage people I know or meet on my walks to stay away from the " rip off " pets at home! I so regret the hundreds of pounds I've spent there since it opened! I'd actually drive 30 miles to Colchester instead of using the clacton on sea store!
