Terrible customer care! The website barely works so wait 40 mins to eventually speak to someone to sort out NCD (whilst the recording says how important my call is). Eventually get through and it turns out that they refuse to honour my 12 years NCD even though my last policy was with them and when I cancelled it to go into a company car I was told that if I returned to them they would keep my NCD open. Apparently I was I month over their allowed gap between insurances (their own policy) so zero NCD and an extra £40 + to pay. I will not be renewing with these people again ever so be careful as they are not to be trusted.

After being with them for around four years wanted to cancel my policy and direct debit. Ring and spoke to them about the cancelation and been charged 9.58. Day after i been charged 94.17 my normal direct debit for insurance and when i ring them back they say that this direct debit is a charge for my cancelation aswell. I was not informed about it when i was on the call to cancel policy about monthly direct debit charge for cancelation of policy. Be careful with this company, fishy

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I have insured with them for the last few years with no issues, however they had a system error and they took just over £1600 out of my account and then cancelled my policy. It has been over 3 weeks and after calling them numerous amounts of times I keep getting told that the money will be in my account in 3 days, however still no sign of the money. So I am left £1600 out of pocket and no car insurance…

Poor customer service! Very expensive admin fee when simply changing address. Wasn’t clearly made clear. Will never use again. Charging extreme amounts of money for simply changing an address is not acceptable, especially during lockdown with little or no car use.

Charged £26 for a number plate change. Wouldn’t let me change in the app. Although they have a function for this. Made me ring up. On hold for 30 mins. Just to get the £26 pounds out of me. All the good insurance companies made plate changes free years ago! LV, Admiral. All free! Reading below they really take advantage of peoples changes in circumstances. Not a nice company. Took off auto renew. Won’t be coming back

Terrible. Scam. Make you call them to cancel - but don't answer the phone. I called 9 times and was on hold for 40 minutes each time. Nobody answered. Then they charged me a 3 month penalty because I didn't get through and sent my debt to a debt collection agency. Furious and will be complaining to the FCA.

Been with them for 3 months and already can’t wait for my policy year to be over and be able to change. They have a live chat system on their website that is useless as they can’t do anything for you. Then you ring them up and are on hold for 40 minutes to change your address and be told there’s a £26 admin fee for any change you make? Absolute rip off. Fair enough if I’m changing my car but just changing my address seems ridiculous. Woman was rude and sheilas wheels is just a knock off esure

All good until you need to make a claim! Our car was stolen and we were treated appallingly by this company. They eventually paid out but they treated us like the criminals for weeks trying everything to avoid paying out. They would not accept CCTV evidence and statements from our neighbours (who are in the police!) and delayed the whole process by weeks, leaving us without a vehicle for a long time and massively stressed and inconvenienced. AVOID and if you have to pay a bit extra for better service, I'd highly recommend doing so.

If I could go back in time and slap my phone out of my hand when I was signing up to this company I would do so in a heartbeat. What a horrible experience.

I discovered water in my loft and called the 24hr emergency cover to find a leaking roof in pouring rain was not covered! I contacted Sheila's Wheels and spoke to Mercia. She was intent on disuading me from making a claim stressing that my premiums would rise and it would cost be £125 and that was if it was actually storm damage. She told me they wouldn't be able to turn out a roofer just an assessor. As I was expressing my annoyance we were disconnected. I think she hung up on me. I'll never prove it but she certainly didn't call me back. She did send me an email falsely stating my excess was £225. Again, I felt to dissuade me from claiming. I complained on Facebook. Three days later a Simon Law called. He apologised for Mercer after having heard the phone call recording and felt she lacked empathy and needed speaking to. Although he was sympathetic nothing was done regarding my leaking roof after 3 days of pouring rain and he was keen to tell he had examined the storm records and nothing was recorded in the last two weeks to constitute a claim. It never occurred to him the damage might have been caused long before. I hadn't been in the loft since September. I got a roofer and resolved the issue at my own expense after 4 days of torrential rain. With Sheilas wheels you might as well not be insured. They did nothing but try to put me off claiming!

The real thieves of the planet! These absolute crooked sons of Sheila's (esure/Sheila's wheels) have just racked in a BMWe90 msport 2owners fsh+more they owe, after waiting 2 weeks without any curtsey car having been fed total lies! Comes to the nitty gritty they tell me ownership of a named driver is the reason having already occurred other damages then now as the payout is heavier for them its too much of an issue. COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF. COMPLAINT OPENED. NAMES NOT MENTIONED!!!!!!!!

Would give 0 stars if possible. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The communication within the company is appalling and it seems there is a massive lack of training within the company. I was involved in a minor accident 4th August 2020 where a van went into the back of me at approx 10-20 mph. The damage was minor, causing a scuff and dent to my rear bumper. Sheilas wheels suggested a garage in my local area which only had 1 star out of 5 in their reviews, so I asked if I could have a different garage. This was agreed. On the day my car was collected, it was taken by the wrong garage! I only realised when the correct garage turned up half an hour later to collect my car which had already been taken! When it came to getting my car back, I was not communicated with at all through the process and had to chase updates with my car (however I was getting updates about other people’s vehicles!). Eventually I was told to go and collect the car from the garage myself which was a 45 min drive from me. As I had my MOT booked in for the previous day, I agreed and drove to collect the vehicle. On inspection of the vehicle, I had to question what work they had done on it after having it for 2 weeks as it was still scuffed, dented and the boot wasn't even in line! So I refused to take the vehicle until these repairs had been done. Another few weeks passed and it was finally time to get my car back. There was no communication with the process. I asked the insurance to give me a time of day my car will be dropped off as I was WFH so had to plan around it. No one got in touch with me with a time so when they showed up to drop my vehicle off, I was busy and unable to get the car back. They only called me twice before parking my car across the street on the main road (I have a drive), posted my key through the letter box and signed the documents all themselves so I was unable to inspect and accept the vehicle back. On inspection this time, I could see new damage on my car. It was now dented in new places on the rear bumper, I had dry pain on my side panels and a massive scuff on my driver’s side, front wheel arch! *All parties have denied causing the damage to the wheel arch, but you can see from the document I signed when the incorrect garage took my car, this scuff was not there when they took my car from my care.* When I rang the insurance to tell them of my experience, they seemed at first like the wanted to help and ensured me I would not go back to that garage and I will get to choose my own garage or take my car to Audi to get repaired. Of course, this was not the case. I was informed at this point that it will take me a long time to go to my own garage and it will be quicker to go back to Grovers. So I compromised and agreed to go back to this garage for a 3rd time but this time with Sheila’s Wheels independent inspectors, Branwells, being involved. So before my car went back to Grovers, someone from the garage and Branwells came to my house to inspect my car and see what needed to be done to it. It was agreed then that the whole of the rear bumper will be replaced, the dry paint on the side panels will be blended in, and that someone from Branwells will inspect and sign my car off before it is returned to me. A day after Grovers took my car in to have this done, I was called to say it was completed. I was shocked, how could all of this work be done in 1 day?! But when I questioned Grovers to ask if Branwells had signed it off, they said they didn't know about this. So 10 days later, my car was finally signed off! On return, this time someone made sure I was available to check the car over (finally) however, on inspection this time, the car looked worse than when it went to them the first time! The paint colour wasn't the same as the rest of my car, half of the bumper was gloss and the other half was Matte, they had broken the plastic trim in my boot, the bumper was still dented and all the paintwork had an 'orange peel' effect! I told them there was no way I was accepting the car in this state. The driver then called his office who he put on speaker, and they were very rude! They refused to have anything else to do with my car and said 'leave her with the car, make sure you take the courtesy car off her or she'll pay for it all'. At this point, I called the insurance who said they will deal with it all, but Grovers were still refusing to have anything else to do with my car. Sheilas Wheels then asked me to go to Audi themselves and get an estimate so they could get this sorted. When I went to Audi, they informed me that no new bumper had ever been put on the car! And that the bumper had never even been taken off the car, they had done all the work with it still on my car and put masking tape around it to paint it (this would be where the dry paint on my side panels have come from). Audi gave me an estimate of £2,707 but the insurance has offered me only £1200 to cover it! Not even half Worst insurance company

They're not even worth giving 1star. I am beyond disappointed with them. I will never recommend them to anyone, took a new policy out and within 6 days they emailed stating they will cancel my policy as apparently when I checked a quote with a name driver on the car he had a cancelled policy previously HOWEVER this name drive was never ever insured on my car or on that policy but Sheila’s wheels stated he was. I had asked them not to put this other driver on my policy despite calling them twice asking not to put the other driver on my policy they still went and took that into consideration and cancelled my policy. Its cost me £300 having to take another policy out with someone else. I am so so so disappointed words cannot explain. they're simply unrealistic and very unhelpful, it has caused me so much grief A Mistake was done on your side but we as a customer have to go through it and suffer.

I got an sms today. Informing me that my premium has gone up. I called - held on for 45 minutes. Was told a claim from November 2019, when someone drove into us, which was closed in March 2020 due to no third party claim, was re-opened on 16 September 2020. TWO MONTHS AGO. No call, discussion, no correspondence, BUT premium DOUBLED and a text to tell me. Unhelpful. Unacceptable. Appalling
