Fantastic knowledge of my Son's bike that had suffered vandalism. The bike had originally come from another shop and they were unable to repair for weeks!. Mark sorted it and it was road worthy again. Nothing was to much trouble!. Hence I will not be returning it to other store but I will use Go outdoors from now on!. Cambridge store 1483.

We were looked after by Sarah C at Portrack Go Outdoors, location 1319. She was extremely friendly, engaging and helpful and took time to explain the benefits of having a store card and make sure were were looked after as well as possible

As an existing customer, I visited the Colchester store to buy some boots. They did not have my size in stock at the store, but a helpful young lady advised that they were in stock at the warehouse so I could order and pay in-store for a delivery straight to my home address. I stressed I needed the boots for an event on Friday and was assured the boots would be picked on Monday and with me on Tuesday on Wednesday. Brilliant service and advice, so I placed my order. The boots did not arrive by Friday, so I used alternative and inappropriate footwear ( now ruined). My family joked that the boots would arrive during my absence on Friday, they were wrong! So today, Sunday I went back to the store and asked for a refund. A supervisor was called, Ed, who was defensive and abrasive from the outset. He was quick to point out that it was not the stores fault, it was the warehouse. I suggested some notification that the order was delayed would have been nice. He said the warehouse probably had sent an email, but I had not checked properly and it was in my spam box. He then said he could not refund the money until he had checked the item has not been dispatched. While he went away to check this, I checked my email account but no notifications had been sent including spam and junk inbox. Ed returned and said he could now refund me as the Warehouse were out of stock so had already cancelled my order. What??, Why had I not been advised? Ed's response was again it's not his fault, I probably had been informed, and he is doing the refund so don't shout at him. ( I hadn't shouted, but I had mirrored his terse manner). He then scanned a bar code attached to a lanyard, instructed the member of staff at the checkout on how to conclude the refund and left without saying goodbye or offering any form of apology. Needless to say I won't be renewing my discount card or returning to go outdoors.

Placed an order for a product that was showing as in stock. Waited for it to be delivered and nothing happened until they eventually cancelled the order saying they didn't have it in stock. Massive waste of time when they can't even run a business with an accurate method of stock control. Very disappointed.

Go outdoors should train their staff about the items they sell. I went to buy a heated jacket powered by a power bank. Firstly none of the staff knew anything about it and it wasn’t until I showed them on my phone,in the go outdoor website. So I told a member of staff that I would order and get it delivered to the Clydebank branch . I also asked him if the power bank was included in the price ,to which he replied “all jackets come with a power bank included”...fine ordered and picked it up next day . No power bank was included....phoned customer service, who told me the only thing I could do was return it for a refund. Spent a few hours going and coming back to there store already . Should have bought it from Amazon...cheaper and power bank included!!

Excellent customer service from Hannah at Chatham branch who was very knowledgeable about the ski wear. I successfully purchased a ski jacket and sallopetes for the first time in years and in the sale too. The discount card costs £5 per year and saves you more than that many times over. It's a no brainer and well publicised. I renew mine when I need to make a new purchase but always use Go Outdoors as I always find the staff helpful and the stores well stocked. Nothing is too much trouble. I will definitely be continuing to shop at Go Outdoors.

Have never shopped here before but was in the market for walking boots. Go into store, try on several styles and sizes (eg spent a good deal of time doing so) found a comfy pair marked with LARGE writing 'special offer, £40 until stock runs out' or similar. Great, take those and also go and buy 2 walking sticks. All should have come to £50 but at checkout am told its £100 unless I have THE DISCOUNT card and would I care to buy one for £5. Not really! .........this is very sharp practise and I said, NO-where does it say I need a card to get these prices, looking around the store. Oh, it says on the sale ticket (so small I'd need my specs). Well thank you very much but this wide of the mark and not on I replied and I left my would be purchases on the check out and left empty handed. Will not return. Beware.

I am disgusted !!! Everyone needs to Never buy from Go Outdoors again for practising exceedingly sharp business practice and ripping people off ... Just before Christmas 2019 I was doing my Christmas shopping (like most of us) and did some online for some fishing and camping gear. Go Outdoors showed up with some good online prices and the gear was in stock at Basingstoke, so if I drove there from Guildford and picked up the goods, I could have them in time for Christmas presents. Great ! So I order online and drive there and the goods are ready, so I pay for them and drive back to Guildford and wrap up my presents. I don’t know what made me check my online price against my store receipt but my spider sense must have been tingling, so I did and found that instead of paying the click and collect price on my email, the store had massively over charged me. Click and collect price was £82.55 Store charged me £112.94 A difference of £30.39 So I thought, oh there must be some kind of mistake and I hung onto the receipt and called them today when I had the first chance since Christmas to tell them of the mistake and presumably get an apology and the difference refunded to my card ... But oh no ... What I got instead was: The price quoted was the “discount card price” and (after several minutes of back and forth comments) “it is in our terms and conditions”. Now at no point in the ordering process does it state : The web prices quoted on your click and collect order email will only be honoured if you pay us £5 to sign up for an annual discount card, otherwise your prices will increase by 36.8% to the RRP value of these items. It didn’t state that when browsing the website It didn’t state that when placing the order It didn’t state that when asking a human in the store, for my click and collect goods Said human didn’t explain or confirm these conditions The human on the help line today explained where this had been stated and how I had agreed to it by letting me know that I had ticked a check box during the online checkout process that stated that I agreed with their terms and conditions (which never came up in front of me). So, they sucker you into their store with “good value” online prices, and then when the cashier asks “would you like to sign up to our discount card?” But doesn’t explain that if you don’t, he will just rip you off by 36% and then just does rip you off without telling you. So, I think that is bloody disgusting and trading standards should investigate them for sharp practice and not making it clear and present at each stage (or even one stage) of the ordering to paying process as this is a blatant attempt to rip people off , which succeeded in my case. I don’t operate my business in this way as I would consider it dishonest. After these comments were fed back to the guy on the helpline, the helpful corporate desk jockey response was : “It’s in our terms and conditions which you agreed to online” There was no concern or apology or good will gesture and they intend to keep doing this as long as they can get away with it. I think that’s disgusting and if you do too, please don’t buy any more stuff from them and share this comment as far and wide as you can to teach bad companies like this that screwing your customers will come back and bite you in the butt !
