It is sad that in July2022 I rated Gousto with five stars and now that has changed to one star. Their customer service is really terrible!!!!! I have been battling with them for nearly a week now to have a discount code applied to my account. They do not reply to emails, they do not reply to Messages and I have written a negative review on FB but this hasnt resulted in any sort of a response. They now say that they have applied the discount to my account but there is nothing there! It is sad as I was considering returning to my weekly box after a short break but I will now look for an alternative of which there are many!!! Cautionary tale to all!! I waited in all day I checked my box status and it said still with seller so I contacted gousto live chat as I was confused why courier didn't have it as it was being delivered today, in the live chat I was told it is on its way then they emailed me cancelling box blaming the courier when they hadn't even received it themselves I will be ordering hello fresh from now on

Hi the food from gousto is great. However I cancelled it after the first delivery. They use DPD to delver the food and DPD is appalling. I was in all day they never rang my bell, they left it downstairs in the communal area. Was the driver too lazy to ring my intercom bell. When I contacted DPD they said I had designated my front porch as my safe space. This is not true, my instructions are to leave with my neighbour when I am not in but today I was in. So while Gousto uses DPD I will not return.

I've been using Gousto for 2 years and love the convenience. I used to spend £££s on a week's shop and waste so much food! These boxes give you what you need. Gave me food poisoning Customer service nearly non existent, didn't even offer a refund when they took 2 days of my life because they can't properly store cooked fish.

The support from the agent was great, as she is just doing her job and therefore can't be held accountable for the poor management of the company in general. However if gusto would like to be a respected company. It would be great if when client's cancel subscriptions and close their accounts that you did not act fraudulently by sending an unwanted box and taking money without consent, as an automatic payment. Therefore I will not be recommending this company to anyone and I will leave the appropriate review to warn others of this.

The worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with. They blamed me for not clearing my cart and processed what was in my cart, taking £39 of my money. Then told me I couldn’t get a refund because I didn’t clear my cart. They offered me 25% of MY OWN MONEY back in credit to which they then offered me to change that 25% into a refund… so if they can do that then why could they not just refund me the whole amount. I am absolutely fuming and will never be a customer again. I haven’t ordered with them for well over a year. Just from browsing their food and adding it to see how much the whole order would be and then clicking off of it they have processed and taken my money. No notification, no email. They also do the least they can to help you. Frauding people pretty much!!! One very unhappy customer.

Terrible customer service when things go wrong as other have stated. Updated my payment details with Gousto yet when I ordered Gousto took money from an old card causing the account to enter the overdraft creating bank charges. Gousto denied blame and stated that it's company policy they don't refund for bank charges, even though it was their mistake. As a long term customer I'm appalled and will be cancelling further boxes.

Most of the meals I've had are just not tasty and the flavour is often lacking - only 2/10 were any good. The boxes for one person come with too much food so lots of ingredients go to waste. It's hard to follow the recipe for one person because they don't send you the exact amount of ingredients you need and don't list the exact amounts throughout the recipe. Most of the meals come with too much food for one person but not enough for a second portion (and I eat a lot). Unlike Hello Fresh, the ingredients don't come in separate bags for each meal, so you have to dig around in the box for everything. I will not be returning to Gousto.

The meals are exquisite yet easy to cook. They have a fantastic wide range of menu. Great communication regarding delivery of box of meals. Terrific range of Vegan and Vegetarian meals. Customer Service is always available with immediate help for any questions or queries.

well the food and recipe was good but my objection is to the use of too much non re cyclable packaging- small pots and sachets etc- non of which can be recycled. I don't want to add to plastic waste

What an utter farce my experience has been! I subscribed to gousto 2 weeks ago waited about all day for the delivery for it not to show up! I asked customer service where it is and they couldn't have been more difficult to deal with they then tell me 2 days later that my account wasn't created even though I've got about 12 confirmation emails saying its on its way! So I try again for the next week and the exact same thing happens! Customer service ask me to do it again and to compensate me my first box will have been paid for! So I've done that for them to now say that I've instead got credit that will make my subscription cheaper haha this company shouldn't be operating their customer service staff don't have a clue and they've made a simple transaction very difficult! Not happy with the service at all and I've not even received the food yet !!!

BEWARE OF THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY I encountered a significant issue with this company. Initially, I received an enticing offer of 60% off through a leaflet in the mail. Intrigued, I agreed and placed an order. Upon receiving the order confirmation via email, I was shocked to discover that the successful transaction was priced at £15.40. However, my account was later debited £50 without my consent approximately three days later. Upon reaching out to customer service, I was informed that there was an issue with my account creation, and it had been reverted to an old email address from 6 to 12 months ago, possibly even longer. The customer support representative explained that they opted to use the outdated email address, which was not eligible for the discount, resulting in an unauthorised charge of the full £50. Despite my protests, the company refused to cancel or refund the order. While I anticipate a potential dismissive and undermining response from Gousto, I strongly advise considering alternative options such as Hello Fresh and steering clear of this company. I want to make people aware that I'm unable to respond to any response that Gousto make on this review, but I'll be sharing this review across multiple channels (including my blog post to over 1m foody followers).

Dear Gusto, I'd like to compliment you on your unparalleled ability to turn a simple food order into an epic saga worthy of a Netflix special. My adventure began when my food delivery magically disappeared (maybe it went to Narnia?), despite the app claiming it had been delivered. I reached out to the courier, only to find out my food had gone on a different journey of its own to the wrong depot. Now, as much as I appreciate your attempt at making my meals world travelers, it caused a bit of an inconvenience. You see, I was working away, so my elderly mother, who hasn’t taken up teleportation yet, had to embark on her own quest to the grocery store and pay for a taxi. It felt like a subplot from an action movie, only without the explosions. I called your team, expecting maybe a knight in shining armor to come to my rescue, but instead, I had to negotiate for compensation. Surprising, given the odyssey we had experienced. Flash forward a week: I tried to reorder, trusting your service one more time. But alas! The promised discount vanished like a mirage in the desert. Multiple attempts through chat and phone were met with more plot twists. Apparently, I've been mistaken for the previous tenant of my home, who shares my last name. A case of mistaken identity, how novel! So here we are, 2+ hours of my life invested in chats, calls, and emails; my dear mum's pocket lighter by a taxi fee; and still no food in sight. While I do appreciate the unintentional comedic value of this debacle, I’d really just like my food. Perhaps with a side of efficient customer service? Hungry and bemused, Nicole

Trying to update bank details to a new card. Useless. Bank account is the same, card is updated. So much hassle trying to do this simple task. It's absolutely ridiculous. It has taken almost 3 days but Gousto refuse to sort out the problem and blame the bank. Spoke to the bank and no issues on the banking side. It's the merchant. DO NOT USE GOUSTO IF YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR PAYMENT DETAILS.

I have been cooking quality foods for over 30 years and decided to try this company called Gousto in the UK. Gousto deliver components of meals, with recipes so you can compile the meal yourself. I’ve just amended my review today on the basis of receiving a new box and deciding to cook tonight the Goan style pork. So going through the components, although all appeared fine apart from the spinach which for sure was dated,,,, Haho on and up. This curry timings as mentioned before are simply rubbish, if you are buying this stuff in order to impress someone by cooking for the first time,,,,really really don’t bother it’s amateur to say the least,,,, don’t embarrass yourself. If your a mum or dad wanting to either have food for you and the partner or all of you don’t bother. Even with all of the discount a poor meal is still a poor meal. Dont bother with this stuff ,,, get a recipe widely available on multiple sites and on Sunday simply make meals for the rest of the week until the next Sunday and do it again,,, it will save you a fortune planning a little,,, but avoid this rubbish. Get fresh veg,,,, the ones from Gousto are not. We had this stuff delivered on sat and it’s only Wednesday and stuff is starting to rot rot and yes it’s been in a refrigerator. Anyway on to our Gousto review,,, this is my revised review after the nonsense reply from Gousto,,,, but let’s stay balanced. Delivery: So the ease of delivery - good Packaging: Could do better, plastic stuff inside something like paper covering it, not sure what’s that is about, apparently it’s a reusable cooling pack. The paper covering the plastic bag will break down, leaving the plastic. Items of food were also wrapped in plastic which is not good. Coriander and veg for instance unnecessarily in plastic. Food: Well overall, not to bad at the price range. I would however point out that there is a propensity to use lots of pans and dishes. With a little more thought some of these could be cut out of the process. Boiling of the kettle a number of times in one menu was also over the top. Don’t get me wrong, the overall experience is not bad and I do recognise that they are a business ultimately selling stuff, but with a little more imagination, reasonable could be good. So as we speak I’m doing the comforting cottage pie. I’ll not go through every thing but the timings are simply wrong, especially item/stage 4. My suggestion is do this stage for at least 25 mins, allow to cool and in item 3 add one cube of oxo as their mix is poor. Item 7 don’t cover the broccoli with water, have a little in the bottom of the pan or ideally in a colander above some steaming water, for 5 mins. There are lots that can be done to add an extra dimension to this food, with a little thought,,,, but haho. Use the cheap cheddar sent by this company and supplement it with a little Parmesan cheese,,, don’t worry you will use it in lots of future dishes. Lots of useful recipes are out there on the web from a variety of sources. I’ve edited this review about 4 times now. I’ve just cooked again this menu exactly as per the process and let me tell you for me it was flavourless and was just food material, without any joy. I have no idea who puts up,the menus,,,,and more importantly the timings,,,, it could be anyone. I did get a reply on my original review,,, but one of my own puppies could have written better response,,,, certainly a more meaningful one. Angry now, that companies in the UK can put this stuff out and call it cooking or dinners. Just remember these business are simply selling you stuff,, for profit. Look at your local supermarket for local produce and get the recipes of the web. Don’t rely on a box packed by some person, god knows where to fulfil your needs. I’m not as an individual going to provide this rubbish business with any more of my hard earned cash and simply continue to cook myself and provide my family with much far better quality food as I have been for many years. I’m sorry I even considered this business.

I am so bitterly disappointed in the Gousto team! I was really enjoying picking my meals and then cooking them. Unfortunately 3 weeks in a row my box has been left outside my apartment building on the floor in the baking sun which is available for anyone who walks by to help themselves to. The driver didn't even bother ringing my bell or entering the building to atleast put it outside my actual apartment door. I called 2 weeks ago about this issue and by the time I got home from work, even the ice block packets were completely melted as it had been sat in the 30 degree sun for 5 hours on the curb. I was reassured that they would be taking this up with the driver and I specifically asked if this would happen again the following week and the guy said to me that it most definitely would not. But it did!!!!! Same exact thing happened again. He then tried to lie to me to say they were not allowed to enter the building but I called him out because before these 3 incidents, every other gousto box was delivered to me by hand after the bell was rang, at my front door... INSIDE THE BUILDING. So needless to say, I will not be using this service again which is very unfortunate as like I said, I was very much enjoying the recipes. What a shame that the team has let down Gousto like this and lost a loyal customer.

Very tasty meals,but portion wise it does not worth it if you want to cook for more than 1 person.I used to cook the 2 peson box recipes for me and for my partner,and after 1 hour max we would feel hungry again because the portions were simply not enough.Too much fuss for so little food.I deleted my account as we do not have time and money to spend in order to end up hungry,sorry not.Photos on recipe cards are also deceiving,as in reality they barely fill your plate.
