On the way to lapland with a small child. Clutch failed one hour from lapland ascot. Pulled over , called greenflag, only me and my young child in the car. Advised they would take us and car to one destination. Initially I said hotel but then changed my mind after ringing around garages in the area and establishing it might take 3 weeks to repair. Policy was to be taken home. Sam from collateral brought us to 'Frankly services' , she was just lovely, but couldn't offer us much help, this is the only positive to the story , thank you Sam. I asked if she could take us the Birmingham Airport to rent a car, she asked if she could but request was refused by control. I phoned greenflag to establish if they could get me a hire car, happy to pay. They gave me a number, which shut at 1pm in Saturday. It was 4pm by now. The relay from Gloucestershire to Liverpool, could have been 2 to 4 different stops. Then they decided no they would get me a courtesy car. The car arrived, 16 years old -no isolfix for child seat -Windows didn't work-fire hazard - all seatbeats in back of car smashed beyond use, except the middle one which was one belt across the middle -no sat nav - no facility to charge phone despite having 3 hours by the road side -pitch black darkness off a motorway with a small child - had to find a hotel off the motorway and wait until morning to travel home - 3 days later no car, no contact -asked if car could be dropped at a particular garage , which they did . But expected me to drive banger to garage to hand over banger. I kept telling them there was no isofix , I also have a new born. All day to and fro, 18 calls when I was in a meeting. Received a text stating they would be with me at 11:04, 12.10 nothing Then panic and call after call. Stated that they would put car back on the truck if I didn't come to meet them, despite dangers identified. Text me "truck won't fit down your street" and they were now dropping car at my address! Left car in the road by the garage . Umpteen calls to managers , worse than useless. Never again, green flag are appalling. What an awful experience, no compassion or empathy for the situation. Disgraceful customer service. No support despite circumstances and offer to pay in full. They just didn't help or bother a woman with a small child stranded in darkness at the side of a motorway worst nightmare

Terrible experience . Took them 25 hours to recover vehicle 2 miles further to local garage ( mechanic after over 2 hours couldn't fix so we had to wait from 11pm till next morning to get recovered ) Next day suppose to be picked up between 9 and 11 am . After numerous phone calls eventually they got it at 8.40pm . I lost day with mechanic and at least 2 days of going to work . Avoid them is understatement!!definitely won't use them again . I much rather pay a bit more for other recommend to me by friend company

Absolutely disgusted with Green Flag, Gear box failed on the M6, called Green Flag, only to be told my policy had run out, But they could tow me 10 miles at a cost of £150 miles, and a additional cost per mile after that, considering I was 136 miles from home the cost would have been outrageous, I then called AA and had to pay £299.00 to be towed, I then contacted my wife and she told me with did have cover, once again called Green flag and they said, Oh sorry you do have cover, So now I am £299.00 out of pocket when we had cover all the time, STAY AWAY FORM GREEN FLAG THEY ARE BLOODY USELESS

I took Green Flag Relay out in April '21 knowing we wanted to go to Scotland, the idea being if we break down or have an accident we can still get home. I live in the Midlands so its quite a way. I took out Relay and made sure we were both covered in all vehicles. When my partner was involved in a multi vehicle car crash ( in November) he called them out. At first they could not find a policy for him at all so he called me. I checked he is covered - we are both covered for all vehicles up to a certain age. I paid extra for that due to the camper being 16 years old. Then they say I have to be with him for it to apply and him to be covered and also neither of us is covered if we have a crash only for a break down. I ring Green Flag. He is covered without me - so thats rubbish for starters because they refused to come out! BUT Green Flag apparently do not count a breakdown due to an accident as worthy of being rescued. I feel totally ripped off. So with Green Flag you only get "Relay" with a breakdown of engine etc and a car crash does not count as a breakdown even if the car is undriveable and dangerous. So although they call it Relay it is not. I think its terrible and I am ripped off, and had a row with them last night because I specifically requested this kind of cover. They just rang me back again today, with excuses which has prompted me to warn other people. Worse the guy I had on the phone would not allow me to speak but kept speaking over me and is going to send my complaint to customer services. I am sure thats going to help!!!! But the fact remains when we needed help Green flag did not give it. Apparently, according to Green Flag a break down is covered by your car insurance - not by ours (and thats besides the fact I do not carry my car insurance details with me anyway) and also I specifically requested when I took out this policy that we were covered for accidents, because long ago I was in an accident where my car was a write off and I know from previous experience if you have a car written off in a crash and have AA Relay cover it covers you for relay home even if the relay ends up being to take the car to a storage area on route before they take you home – that’s what happened to me. I was hit head on by someone driving on the wrong side of the road. Anyway worth considering if you take out that kind of cover. I will move to the AA possibly before this current Green Flag cover ends because there is no point having cover that is of no use when you need it. I prefer to pay a little more and actually get rescued when I really need it. The worst thing about this was because Green Flag refused to help despite they told me when I took this out we were covered for this, that my partner drove 22 miles home with no lights and no windscreen in the dark on dangerous and busy roads. Besides the illegality its totally disgusting.

I broke down with a flat battery at a hospital, phoned Green flag because the app would not recognise the location and told them that I needed a really quick eta because I had to follow an ambulance to another hospital where a friend was being transferred for a life threatening emergency operation. Was still told the earliest would be 1hr 20mins. Luckily somebody in the car park jump started me. Awful service

It was a few months ago now, and I said I would leave good feedback, but I got very distracted by life. However, the mechanic that came to help me, Matt (GF28 on his feedback card) was extremely helpful. He was easy to understand, knowledgeable, and professional to the point that I remembered to leave the good feedback I said I would about two months later. And kept his card, hence remembering his GF28 number. Keep up the good work Matt!

Worst experience! STAY AWAY Worst experience! Took me 12 hours to get from Essex to Worthing (100 miles) Got dropped off at a services alone at night. Explained to GF I was afraid as it was 2am but they were not that bothered. Every time I tried calling I was on hold for 50-60 minutes when I totalled my wait time up it added up to a total of almost 5 hours just on hold to speak with someone… Just so you know……. If you need a towing service (like I did) they won’t tow you all the way home and it will take two or three drop offs….. but the drop offs won’t match up so I was told (after a 4 hour wait) that it was going to be another 4 HOURS at the service station before the next pick up was due to arrive….. By the time I get home it will have taken me a total of 12 hours from calling GF to walking in my door….. 12 HOURS to travel a total distance of 100 miles…. Alongside 5 hours of being on hold. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! There’s reason as to why they are cheap!

I'm a very patient customer, but I can only describe Green Flag's customer service as shambolic and totally uncaring.

I am on a Natwest Platinum membership which I have had for many years, I've only ever used it once for a straightforward tow. I required the same this time, even though I am entitled to overnight hotel stay, rental car, chauffeur and much more. I had to wait for 4 hours in freezing rain, in the middle of nowhere in the dark with my 76 year old partner before being towed, and only after they forced me to pay £150 against my will. Absolutely appalling in every way. two people told us we would be taken home and 2 people told us we couldn't be taken home, no consistency and extremely unhelpful.

Tonight I broke down at 8pm. Green flag said they were not busy and as I was a female alone I would be a priority. After 2 1/2 hours and several fruitless conversations with their employees I finally got a text to say Burke’s Recovery would be with me by 01.17!! By 10.30pm after my phone died I decided it would be safer to make my own way home. Luckily I was within a 45 minute walk from home. Many women would not be. After recent events in this country you would think women’s safety would be a priority. For Green Flag it sadly isn’t. Please do not use them.

Rang Friday as gear box issue. Their 3rd party recovery company didn’t come in time to get to the garage. Come Monday morning and was told that they was going to charge for an extra 11 miles then changed it to extra 9 miles. Got told it would be £3 per mile from green flag to then be told it was nearly £4 per mile from richardmonds. Biggest rip of ever. Now car is still on the driveway and green flag wants to charge me £150 to get my car recovered again (didn’t even make it off my road the first time) Wouldn’t recommend this company ever as they have left 2 key workers with a disabled child without a car.

my van broke down in the Neston called green flag as my cars are covered with them. they said they would come out and try to fix at roadside if not would take me to a garage for a fee of £150. What they actually did was pick my van up transport it 2 miles to a Starbucks and offload it in their car park and was told they would come back for it the following day as it was Sunday. Told them i lived in Huddersfield and was told to get car hire or find accommodation at my expense. Rang another recovery firm in Manchester, they came out within an hour loaded my van on their truck and delivered it to a garage in Huddersfield for £140, top bloke. Flixton recovery. 07845 049856

I was very impressed by the friendly and efficient way the the call centre staff handled my calls throughout about my recent break down. Although their local contractors were a bit slow in responding I have nothing but praise for the service I recieved
