I created a silly problem so my car could not be driven. Green Flag were amazing. Extremely kind and courteous and sent help quickly. The technician was so understanding and sorted things easily. I’m so grateful, thank you all so much

Green Flag review from this weekend. Absolute nightmare. Copied from my trust pilot review please share! We broke down at 12am having set off from Scotland at 7pm. We had 3 hours left of our journey home. As a family with 2 dogs and a poorly child, we broke down with a caravan in tow - the turbo went on the car so unable to solve roadside therefore recovery needed. Initial call was hopeful - green flag stated it would be 45 mins until they had someone to us as we were a priority having a child and animals on board and as we were on a busy motorway just south of Scotland. 2.5 hours later we have our FIRST OF THREE recovery trucks arrive. He advised Lincoln was not in his area so would take us 1,5 hours to Lymm services where we would be met by the next recovery vehicle " great , that's ok " we thought .... Oh how wrong we were!! Telephone call from green flag advising us that at our ETA at Lymm services we would have a recovery man waiting for us within 30 mins of arrival (6:30/7am) Green flag advised the next part of our recovery would be completed by Eggertons from Lymm services. Upon being dropped off by the first recovery truck , we sat in the lorry park of Eggertons at Lymm services. Saw a truck with a guy sat in it and by 8am contacted Sarah who advised that they were running behind ( 1.5 hours!) and had someone on route to us. We asked if the chap in the lorry park was our driver which she denied. Roll on 10Aam ( 15 hours into the journey) , the same guy sat looking at us at Eggertons lorry park, reverses his truck to our car stating he hadn't received the job and could only take us to the next service station 27 mins away!!! Fuming is an understatement - my little boy was sobbing by this point as he felt so unwell - we are both tired out and stressed and totally flabbergasted at the lack of common sense displayed by green flag , never the less after a rather cross phone call to green flag I am absolutely assured that the next truck will absolutely be with us by 11:10. you guessed it - 12:15 the next one rolled up - thank fully ready equipped to take us all the way home. In short our experience has been a nightmare! Why not put us into a services over night to then recover us the next day in one hit! Utterly outrageous with no courtesy shown for us or the animals left stranded in service stations and roadside for over 11 hours!!! Sort yourselves out green flag - this is totally unacceptable! Disorganised, disjointed, poor communication and utterly dismal dishonest service- don't advertise "national recovery" with the caravan and motorhome clubs if you are blatantly unable to achieve a service to meet the needs of your customers!! Date of experience: 24 August 2024

Polite customer service, dishonest time scales given , poor foresight and organisation , poor problem solving and zero customer satisfaction. In short a horrific response time and organisation. Broke down on the 3rd lane of the motorway after my engine blew, none of them knew ANYTHING. It was like speaking to children. Beyond rude and unbelievably bad at their jobs, don’t even think they’d had any customer service training with their attitudes. In that moment you need them to listen and understand and help, they do nothing to actually help you. Worst company in the world, no point ever ringing them for help.

Do not use this company! Avoid. 1. I took this policy out for the second year running for peace of mind. Part of my car dropped off after driving on a rough road through no fault of my own. My car was undriveable but GF refused to come out. They said I had caused the damage myself and pot holes are not covered. Neither the person who came to help or the garage I subsequently took my car to could believe GF’s attitude. 2. 1 month in to the policy I changed my car ( which came with breakdown cover) so I rang to cancel this policy and hoped to have most of the money refunded. I was rather shocked by the attitude of the call handler. Everything possible was asked to avoid giving me a refund. First he asked me haven’t I replaced my car. He then asked wouldn’t I need cover on my new car. I explained that no it had cover on it already. He then asked me didn’t I have another vehicle in the household which needed cover! Again I explained no. 3. The refund was an insult. After paying £68.04 on 13.7 on the 15.8 I was told that I was only entitled to £39.15. I am disgusted at this after only being a month into the policy. This company seems to want to hold onto your money at all costs but not actually come out to you when you are in need. As a female driver who frequently travels alone this policy has not given me the peace of mind I had hoped for. Possibly cheaper than some firms but not worth it.

My vehicle broke down today. I had a green flag technician out today. He refitted a fuel filter without filling up with diesel so now I couldn't start my vehicle. I was waiting for several hours at my vehicle. Which I find totally unacceptable. Now I've got no vehicle until I get yet another technician out to it in the morning. I would of never got this from crouch the contractor for green flag

Green flag put my policy on auto renewal which I had not agreed too and then wants to charge me to cancel the policy at the end of its term. They are trying to charge me £11 to cancel a policy I have not asked for. They are complete rip of merchants and will not be getting business from me or my family in the future. Be warned !!!!!!

Reasonable priced policy. Had policies several years but only had to use once and the service using nearest local recovery was very good. Like their ease of contact and clear policy details.

Rang green flag owing to a metallic noise from near side rear wheel on a Toyota rav 4 . 2 wheel drive . Explained this to young girl on phone who said it is drive shafts I said there isn’t drive shafts it is 2 Wheel drive . Well it must be brakes. I said breaks were renewed 5 months ago . She said we can’t look at it you need to take it to a garage.we will recover without looking for the problem. I said don’t bother . I am in my seventies and took the wheel off with a struggle and found a stone behind the back plate two minutes fixed . After a big struggle trying to take te wheel off . Green flag should have at least come to have a look and not guess at the end of a phone by an untrained young girl who would rather leave it to a pensioner to sort out . DONT BOTHER WITH GREEN FLAG HOPELESS AND ROB YOU OF THE FEE FOR DOING NOTHING

After breaking down today, I rang for assistance. The girl was so polite and understanding. It came as a relief, as she was so helpful. The assistance arrived and the driver was very friendly and helpful as well, taking me to the garage. It all gave me a lot of confidence. Please thank them.

We were 150km from Calais on the A28 for an easy drive to Calais Eurotunnel when the battery light came on and within a minute the temperature started rising. I suspected the fan belt had broke. As luck would have it there was an exit 2km away. At 1km the temperature gauge was hitting the ‘Hot’. We made it off the motorway and again as luck would have it, there was a pull in half way around the roundabout to a farmhouse. How lucky was that! Lifted the bonnet, left a few minutes to cool down a bit and poured a gallon of water I carry via the expansion tank. It all instantly came out of the bottom, the water pump bearings had disintegrated we found out later. As the engine has casing above and below there was no way of checking at the time. Pressed the RESCUE ME button on the Green Flag app on the phone. They answered within 30 seconds and said their French Counterpart would ring me, which they did in five minutes. Perfect English was spoken and I was assured a Recovery Vehicle would be with us within 45 minutes. In fact, it was there in under 20 minutes. Naturally the driver spoke no English and loaded the motorhome on the lorry within a few minutes. Now, here was a challenge…getting my disabled wife and our dog up into the high cab with four steps. We were driven to the recovery vehicle’s home base, unloaded and parked up in a quiet location. I say quiet location…it was all quiet as it was a Saturday, Bank Holiday weekend and not a soul about. About thirty minutes later the French Green Flag Counterpart rang to say there was nothing they could do to get us home until Tuesday as everything was shut down in France until then. Green Flag France gave us the option of being picked up and taken to a local French Hotel for the weekend. As my wife was in a wheelchair, we had a dog and spoke no French we decided to stay with the motorhome. After all, we had a safe location, food, drink, bed, heating, etc. Green Flag France rang us each day to make sure we were OK and discuss options that suited us. We decided there was not a lot of options. My wife had another five days of medications, our dog’s Animal Health Certificate ran out on Wednesday and, our Le Shuttle was a non starter for the Sunday. On the Monday we made a special booking as foot passengers with DFDS. Special because it is the only European Port that will take Walk On Passengers with a Dog. It has to be done by phone and we had to wait until Monday as they are closed on the weekend. Once the booking was confirmed we phoned Green Flag, France and they organised a brand new Mercedes Taxi for the Tuesday morning at 0800hrs to take us the 40km to Dieppe Ferry Port for the 1200hrs crossing. Green Flag UK also organised a Rental Car to be waiting at Newhaven when we docked for us to get home via Enterprise Car Rental. We only had to return it to our local Enterprise Car Rental two miles away from home. Green Flag UK said they would refund the Ferry Crossing. Our journey from Newhaven to home took six hours and we all got home safe, in four days from breaking down on a Bank Holiday weekend, all thanks to Green Flag. The motorhome followed a few weeks later, after all the Customs paperwork was raised via a professional company, ONTIME AUTOMOTIVES who specialize in vehicle repatriation. So in our book GREEN FLAG deserves a terrific pat on the back for their superb service to us. Thank You Green Flag. We will be eternally grateful to you.

I Can't fault them with calls out iv had (5). I unfortunately had a few through no fault of my own. My husband also had 2 call outs on his car and also was sorted I must say....but they sent me a letter saying they would not be letting me renew my membership this year. I rang to find out why and they said its because I had to many call outs which is why I had the cover in the first place..well thats what I thought anyway. So your ok if you don't have any to many call outs in the year. So iv gone back to AA who I was with for years but it went a little expensive. I'm disabled so I need the reassurance when I'm out and about. Thank you Green flag for your help in the last 12 months anyway

As soon as i spoke to green flag about using the mayday recovery service (as my car had failed on holiday in the lake district) i was impressed with their service from then on,down to the very last minute i was updated by them about their time of arrival. They arrived within a 1 hour window of when they said would 2 days earlier. I was very happy with their professional service ! Frank garvey

I got a puncture on M25. Green flag answered my phone call promptly and arrange a recovery vehicle which arrived before the stated timeline. Green flag messaged a few time with updates. Between them and the recover company we were soon back on our way.

Without doubt the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Technician improperly reassembled the under tray of my car after a call out leading to much worse problems and an extremely dangerous drive on the motorway as the underneath of my car fell and dragged across the road at 70mph. I then had to make the car safe myself as they refused to come out and fix the car to make it safe for me to use because the person dealing with my complaint was busy. Even had the company angrily suggest I should call out the sub contractor they used to sort the issue myself! Several calls and email later and still no sign of apology or compensation. Their actions would be laughably bad if they weren’t so dangerous and costly. Avoid at all costs. They are cheaper than the rest for a reason.
