I put in wrong fuel so they booked a fuel pumper from 80 miles away whose tanks were full anyway!.. had to wait 6 hrs, so paid for a service myself that arrived in 50 minutes.

I had a flat tyre today (Sunday) and requested an engineer to come to my home and put air in tyre so I could drive it. They refused as I did not have a spare tyre. All they could say was to book someone to recover my vehicle and take it to a local garage perhaps tomorrow. I'm an eldery lady (Blue Badge Holder) and do not understand this policy, unfortunately I've already paid upfront for 1 year wish I hadn't bothered.

My car, with two passengers, broke down on the A16 motorway in France on Saturday 3 August. It was finally recovered to a garage in Amiens. To be fair the European agents for Green Flag were reasonably helpful, although they did book us into a hotel for two nights which was 40 kilometers away from our car! However, being a Saturday afternoon all garages were closed by the time we got to Amiens after a fairly frustrating and arduous time. (different story!). The car could not be seen by a garage until the Monday and even then not by the garage we had been recovered to. I was told that my car could not be ready until Wednesday, three days before we were due to start for home. Bearing in mind that we were 650 miles away from our booked destination in the Dordogne I made the decision to continue our journey by train Amiens-Paris-Bordeaux. Fortunately my daughter (who had travelled in her own car) was able to pick us up at the station in Bordeaux so we proceeded on a somewhat foreshortened holiday until Friday 9 August when I returned with my two passengers, again by train, to Amiens to collect the car and drive to the ferry port. Repairs cost over 2000 Euros, which I paid and I accept that the cost of the repair is down to me. However I have now been trying to get some progress on claiming the recovery cost of 286 Euros and the train fares since 14 August. Green Flag are proceeding at a snail's pace, depite my having provided all the requested documentation weeks ago as well as evidence of payment and complaining via their web site on two separate occasions. The latest from them in response to my last complaint is that they are .... " sorry that there’s been a problem. We’ll look into it for you as quickly as possible and be in touch again by 11 October 2024 ". That is, they do not intend to respond either way until two months after my initial claim was made. As quickly as possible? I remain several hundred pounds out of pocket, had a disastrous holiday, spent hours on trains, paid for taxis and hotels over and above that which their agents provided. All when I thought that I had done the right thing by taking out European cover. As an 80 year old, I can do without this sort of hassle and stress and having to juggle my bank accounts to keep them in credit. Will I go with Green Flag when my next renewal comes up? What do you think!

Absolutely rubbish service, from being mis-sold a policy the I have to pay £40 per call out to a poor mechanic who turned up without the tools required, he even told me the spark tool was a specialised item, which I Iater brought at Halfords. His company then wanted £138 to replace the faulty spark plug......... I purchased the spark plug socket and 3 spark plugs for £40 and replaced all 3 spark plugs in about 30 minutes. Green Flag are a rip off.

I broke down in York at 2pm after a long struggle we finally got took to a safe location and got a car home 6 hours later. It was a Sunday, so I was expecting a delay. They said they couldn't take my car home that day due to it been a Sunday. It is now Thursday and I've rang 3x to see what is happening with my car. I still don't know when I will get it. I have 3 children who need to be taken to school and a disabled mum who needs to attend appointments this week. I haven't been offered a car to have in the gap or any compensation. I am very stressed and will never go with green flag again! I never thought I would have any problems.

Waiting more than two hours in the car. The weather was very lousy. I have a wife and dog who felt uncomfortable in the car. Our plans were affected for the day.I expected efficency. I called two times. Lack of urgency to bring someone. I will consider cancelling the breakdown cover. Very poor service I received.

Impossible to get through on the phone to sort out problem with policy. Twice on hold for over 20 mins and still no answer. Different days different times.

I changed my address to one which is 2 miles further away from the old one and it is now more expensive because 'there is more breakdowns in that area'. Wow, what rubbish. As I would probably not be home when my car breaks down, why does it matter that I live 2 miles away from the old address?

In this day and age its ridiculous you can only renew your policy by spending best part of the day in a queue waiting to speak to someone on the end of a phone line, surely you could let customers do this online

Very disappointed only used them once in 3 yrs. and the person they sent didn't have a clue, it ended costing me £45 and the problem was a button pressed by mistake.
