Absolutely shocking. Orpington branch attempted to defraud me out of £540 on a bike. Member of staff told me he couldnt refund the bike but 'trust him' come back a day later and he will refund it without me walking out with the bike or any proof. Then i find the members at Orpington were all sacked that day!! Customer service awful and trying the distance themself from the situation. Halfords Orpington steer well clear, complete con artists and Halfords as a company are awful.

went into the bexhill ravenside branch today to buy a bike. had a particular one in mind as saw it on their website. i was the only customer in there 2 young lads behind the desk chatting, not on the phone or serving were not interested, no acknowledgment or coming over to see if i wanted help. another customer came in for a bit.. same treatment and he left. after about 15 mins i had seen enough, this branch does not want or deserve the business. dread to think how many sales they are losing. will get a bike elswhere... your loss halfords

Battersea branch :they just dont want to work ! Slow and painfull experience ! Its just like they are doing me a favour and not the opposite. The lady at the cashier looked at me as if I was entering her house with muddy shoes. Terrible costumers service. Incompetents.

Recently I reserved 4 individually packed spark plugs on the halfords website to collect in store. When I arrived at the store I was told the individually packed spark plugs were not available. My only option was to purchase a 4 pack of the exact same item for twice the total price. Halfords were not willing to honour the price I was promised online nor did they try and resolve my official complaint. Please keep in mind when reserving items on the Halford's website that you may be charged more than you were promised.. -- ref:_00D20CMz._500w0mr1TL:ref

Reserved 2 items online, went to collect only to be told that 1 of the items was in fact out of stock. Went to till to pay for remaining item, staff member had screwed up order form and had to get it out of bin. Then told me tills were frozen. Left me stood there for 10 minutes. I decided to go elsewhere but girl on till was only interested in telling me it wasn't her fault. Terrible customer service and pointless online reservation system, Halfords going to go bust if they continue with terrible service, companies like ECP will see to that!!!!

I did a review on the Halfords website for a sat nav I just bought. The review was 5 stars for the sat nav and I gave some feedback praising the prices but not so good on other items like wiper blades and headlight bulbs that you can get so much cheaper on well-known auction sites! Guess what? Halfords edited out all the other stuff and just left the good comments! DON'T BELIEVE THE HALFORDS REVIEWS!! They are edited and the person has no way to delete them! That's the last time I submit anything to the Halfords website!

I went in to halfords South Shields to use my trade card and got ripped off I bought a jack and the sales man behind the desk told me there's no trade on that item I'd have to buy a more expensive jack. I then found out that I should of got trade discount on it. It's disgusting.

Went to halfords on 24 december 2014 to have a drivers side light bulb replaced. I was told to wait 10 minutes while another clients number plate was being seen to, more than a hour later i gave my keys to a lady at the till while i take the kids out as they were going crazy by now, ten minutes later they phone and say its ready. Get to the car and find the dust cap of the light on passenger seat and my driver side window down and broken !. Go instore and the fitter cant be found and another young fellow pops the cover back in seconds and tells me the fitter was going to tell me it doesnt fit ? ?. Now a month on still no resolution various managers spoken to explaining what happened to each one and they keep saying fixing the light has nothing to do with the window, obviouly not but what happened to the window in the ten minutes with them ? Did they send someone who had no training were they drunk or what but still cant find out who did it or whichmanager was on duty. Beware of halfords they trying to cash in on their parts by offering a convenient service wich they are not able to do ! Terrible experience so much stress and all just to put a bulb in, dont rely on them rather go to official repairers and save in the long run

Have been to Halfords Autocentre in Harrow for MOT and Service. It was the worst experience I ever had. Halfords should first train its staff on how to speak with customer and solve their problem. Store Manager Mr. Chris Tydda was so rude. Will never ever visit Halfords again and will not recommend to anyone. I was shown the door by one of the staff. And when I left they were laughing so loud as if they are there to make mockery of their customer. I have to come out without servicing and MOT. Such a waste of time and energy.

I called at their Burgess Hill store to buy and have fitted a rear brake light on my VW Beetle.. The sales assistant tried to find someone to do it but one fitter was busy with another customer and one was apparently at lunch. I waited patiently but no-one came and the young lad started to try and do it himself. He was clearly struggling so disappeared Into the shop and another fitter came out to help, then another, who had a quick go then he too disappeared. The 2nd fitter couldn't take the bulb cover off and slightly damaged the paintwork on my car in the process. When I pointed this out he denied it, but the scratch is right next to where he was using some plastic wrench to lever off the cover. In the end no-one could do it so I'm now going to have to take my car to a garage just to get a bulb changed! Surely I can't be the only Beetle driver in Sussex so Halfords should have known they can't do it and not even tried or provided a fitter who knew what he was doing.

Absolutely appalling, the website allows you to reserve items for collection at your local store after one hour. In reality this never happens & I've tried three times in three days with three different products. When you arrive to collect them the store managers excuses vary from "they must have been pinched" to "its a computer glitch due to the extended Christmas holidays" & finally "we no longer stock that product range". I've got my reply,"use them when the product isn't available anywhere else & I'm desperate" from now on & I've been a faithful customer for over forty years, sorry all good things come to an end & that might include the Halfords business in my opinion unless they can get their act together.

Ordered a £999.99 Boardman bike from Bishopbriggs Halfords. I was told the bike would be ready for collection on the Saturday at 12 noon. I duly arrived in store at noon. I presented my collection paperwork to a Halfords member of staff (Stuart) and, after some frantic discussions were had between him and his colleague, I was told the bike wasn't ready. When I told him I was advised that my collection time was noon and asked why no one had thought it appropriate to contact me to tell me it wouldn't be ready - I was met with a simple response - 'We're very busy...you'll need to come back in an hour'. Given that I live 20 minutes from the store, it was hardly worth my while going away and coming back. Therefore I waited. An hour passed and still no bike. It ended up being presented to me at 1:30pm - one and a half hours later when they knew I was waiting. No apologies, none of the service other customers were receiving - explaining how things worked, six week service, etc. Complained and, after a few emails from customer services referring to a 'suitable resolution', was eventually contacted by an assistant manager at the store who simply called to apologise for his colleagues bad attitude but went on to condone the poor level of customer service by stating - 'he must have been stressed because we were busy'. Very poor show. I will not be returning to Halfords as the customer experience was very poor. Into the bargain, I had to adjust my gears because they weren't changing correctly, I had to adjust both sets of hydraulic brakes because the pads were rubbing against the discs - I've only ridden it once since collecting it but hopefully there will be no further issues. (Wish I'd went to Dales Cycles for proper service).

I can't understand how this company is still trading. The stores are understaffed, the staff that are there don't don't want to actually work, the stores are a mess and the products are overpriced. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.
