Greedy halfords don't give you a refund for 14 days . Everyone else pays back straight away. But greedy halfords keep your money for the full extent of their legal right .👎👎👎

My first ever racist encounter since I have settled in the United Kingdom 11 years ago according to the auto repair service man "Steve" at Halfords Charlton my people need to start learning when to be their on time and he is so helpful that he called two mechanics to stand at the office window while I'm in my car waving at me saying (merry Christmas f*CK you don't come back) which most probably will never happen since I felt sincere fear for my safety after the three of them ganged up together

This is a conversation I have just had with a member of Halfords via online chat. I've been told I need an appointment to attend the Autocentre, the same way I did when I had my lights fitted. I couldn't just turn up. This staff member advised otherwise. I'm utterly appalled at the attitude and threats made by this idiot. This person did not want to disclose where they were based in order for me to make a complaint and instead resorted to threats and warnings about ending the conversation. Spent the whole conversation arguing back. This was after having the most horrendous phone call to someone who couldn't speak clear English. Tyler:Hi, my name is Tyler. How can I help you today? Tyler:Welcome to Halfords Live Chat, you are through to Tyler. How can I help you today? Me:Hi, I purchased 2 headlights and had them fitted by a Halfords store. One of the headlights is now faulty. I'm looking to arrange a time for a Halfords member of staff to fix it? Tyler:Oh dear! So so sorry about that. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Tyler:In this regard you would need to just go down to the store for this. Tyler:As you do not need an appointment for this. Tyler:This is a walk in service. Me:I was told I would need to book an appointment at an Autocentre. This would be to replace the bulb if faulty and to look at the wiring if it still wasn't fixed. Tyler:I understand however please do see what I have advised above Tyler:You do not need an appointment at the store for this. Tyler:If you are needing to contact the autocentre you would need to contact them via phone. Me:Tried the phone option and it was horrendous. No one spoke English. Tyler:that is not possible, you might have phoned the wrong number. Me:Well I'm telling you it is possible because I experienced it. I definitely phoned the correct number because I wasted 40 mins on the call. Tyler:If you have contacted Halfords it is impossible to get through to somebody who does not speak english. Me:I hope you are right about not needing an appointment. Can I ask where you are based? Tyler:As all our members are fluent english speakers. Tyler:I am at the head office. Me: Which is where? Me:What City, country? Tyler:Also for the sake of progress what is your post code so that I can provide you with the correct contact number? Me:Can you answer my question? This isnt helping. Tyler:How is this not helping? Tyler:I am wanting to help you by providing you with the number to contact the autocentre so that you can get your light bulbs fixed? Me:Im very capable of finding the number. Its on google, and I already called it. Can you answer my question? Tyler:However you are not providing me the information required to steer you in the right direction also if we do continue to go around in circles I would need to terminate the chat. Tyler:I am wanting to help you by providing you with the number to contact the autocenter so that you can get your light bulbs fixed? Tyler:Could you provide me with the post code? Me:This whole conversation is being recorded. Your only making this worse for yourself when I submit a complaint. The fact that you can't even answer what City or Country your speaking form is appalling. Tyler:we are going around in circles. Tyler:Also I would need to terminate the chat on this basis. Me:Yes we are, and you are supposed to be customer service. Me:That's fine, making threats now and still not answering my question. Tyler:As I have now tried to help you however you have failed to provide the information so that I could provide the auto centre details for you to get your bulb sorted. Me:Absolute disgraceful service. Tyler:I have now warned you on two occasions, this does appear that you do not want help so I will be terminating the chat on the basis that we are going around in circles. Me:Answer the question, what city and country are you based? Tyler:Where we are based is irrelevant to getting your light bulb fixed. Me:You have 'warned' me have you? Another threat. Shocking way to speak to a customer. Tyler:Chat terminated

Myself and my partner went to Halfords autocentre at Wick Scotland on 13th December 2021 to have the tracking and oil checked. What an amazing experience with the best customer service we could have possibly asked for. Thank you so much.

Halfords Horsham got a new £400 carrera vengeance bike back in March and have had nothing but problems with it. In and out of the store loads of times with them trying to fix it. And 7 mouths on still not right. Am Discussed and I'm telling them the amount of stress it has caused me thay don't even apologise for it. And will not give me a new one. It leaves me with no other option but to take further. Thanks Halfords. DON'T BUY A BIKE FROM HALFORDS.

Three times Halfords tried to instal a working camera in my car through Tyres on the Drive. Three times they failed. There was appalling wiring around my car, even worse response times to emails and phone calls, in fact no response at all. They finally removed my camera and I’m getting no contact with regards to getting my money back so I can spend it with a more decent company. I contacted Halfords customer complaints department to be told it’s nothing to do with them and they can’t help. My 10 year old son could run a business better than this shower…

Had booked and paid for a dash cam to be fitted on 09/12/2021. Arrived 2 minutes late, to be 'told' couldn't be fitted. Explained due to roadworks on our 20 mile travel to Halfords, we had been held up. The staff behind the desk were very nice. However it was the duty manager who relayed the message from afar that told staff the job couldn't be fitted in. Duty manager did not come down to discuss this with us. He/she left counter staff to relay their message. We appreciate that we were 2 minutes late, however, staff were willing to do the job (3 behind the counter). We had been allocated one hour for the job, but, this may take longer depending on how the work is going. Therefore this extra time would have been taken into consideration. We were offered a re-schedule. This would jot gave been an option for us. Extremely bad management that whoever the duty manager was, they failed to support their staff and speak to their customers direct. We did get our money back, thank you to the staff who were left to deal with this. However we will not be back to Halfords, despite us being long standing customers.

We had a major service and MOT at Keighley Autocentre. During the service they have overfilled our Mercedes car with engine oil and damaged the engine. At first they admitted their mistake and agreed to repair the car. There’s at least a pint of oil that has leaked from the car onto our driveway. However since finding out it needs to be repaired at a Main Dealer they have done nothing but procrastinate and try and blame us. The customer support doesn’t exist and their attitude is appalling. We are now it seems we are having to get solicitors involved in order to get our car fixed. Nightmare!

I went to a halfords which was not my local store, but they could fit a dashcam earlier, so they said. Booked a dashcam fitting, got a confirmation email, then a reminder email. The day of the fitting, I got a reminder text. Turned up, only to be told that there were no people in who could fit it. I would have at least expected someone to contact me to inform me this rather than make the trip. I asked for a full refund, so I could go elsewhere, but of course, this will take several days, meaning I do not have it installed for the trip I need to take. Useless, do not book online, use another retailer like RAC.

Unfair Price Match & Customer Lock-In Practices Halfords price matched a product. However, their systems could not process the price matched amount. As a result, they advised me to pay the full price and they would refund the difference. I paid the full price via a gift voucher and the remainder via credit card. Halfords then processed the refund. However, they processed it partially via another gift voucher! They have done this to lock you into Halfords and to take more money (original voucher was less than the price matched amount). Their systems should be changed to process a price match, not having to pay the full amount, and then for Halfords to refund via gift vouchers. Customers should not have to deal with unfair lock in practices. Customers should have the right to determine how they want to pay for goods, not Halfords! Raised it with Halfords, but they refused to change these practices, so letting everyone know about their terrible customer lock in dealings. HALFORDS SHOULD CHANGE THESE UNFAIR PRACTICES. COMPANIES SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO ADOPT THESE LOCK IN PRACTICES.
