Watch out for this company. They use the cheapest rental companies and they are not part of the European Car Rental Conciliation Service (ECRCS). So, although they are cheaper on line when you go to collect your car then 'hidden' charges appear. The rental agreement does not clearly indicate additional costs and I got stung for a one-way surcharge plus a hefty deposited because I had full insurance from a 3rd party. The company they used in Italy is Ecovia and their customer services are non-existent, they were rude and very unhelpful (look up reviews for Ecovia and you will see what I mean).

Never use this scam company. They take your money in advance, and in my case then refused to release the car with no refund. Imagine arriving in a foreign country and not being able to get to your onward destination! A traveler's worst nightmare Holiday Autos!

Treated with utter disrespect and contempt! They don't really have a customer care department, more like a customer fraud department.... (would give 0 if possible) A problem with a booking, caused by the car being unavailable when I went to pick it up, led to our booking being cancelled. No refund and we had to pay a much higher price to re-book!

No refund and we had to pay a much higher price to re-book! They would not even consider any refunds. Obviously do not need to keep their customers satisfied..,.

If I could give them zero stars, then I would. Booked to pick up a car in Tenerife over Christmas. This car had a much smaller boot size then we booked for and no alternative was available. I couldn't fit in two small suitcases into a car boot that was supposed to fit three suitcases. Advised by their representative not to take the car and holiday autos would give us a full refund. To date no refund received, they said they would not give me one as I did not take the car upgrade offered (not an alternative, an upgrade that I would have to pay more for) and furthermore emails have not been answered. Avoid this company at all costs.

Wow, DO NOT book a car with this company, even if it appears that they have lower prices. They only APPEAR to have lower prices because they conceal mandatory fees from the price that you’re forced to pay right before you pick up the car. I got totally screwed by it - I booked a car rental and even paid for the supplemental insurance through their site, but when I went to pick up the car with all my confirmations in hand, I learned that Holiday Autos had withheld mandatory fees from the price just to make the initial price appear lower. They wouldn’t rent me the car until I paid an additional $130! After I complained to their customer service and even escalated my case, their team wouldn’t even refund me the worthless supplemental insurance that I purchased through them. Be warned: it is WAY better to just book a car directly through a car rental company. Don’t make the same mistake I did ):

Very disappointed by the whole experience. Booked a car to be picked up at 16.30. Arrived at the desk, I have been told I have been "awarded" an upgrade. I am thinking great ! Got to the car, and realized the upgrade was a massive car with 5 seats in the back. Being there to be in the city and not used to such big cars, I did not feel comfortable in driving it. I requested and booked a small car for a reason and expected something similar as promised. I went back to the desk and been offered a Zafira instead. Well it was already 5.30, the person is in fact explaining they do not have any similar product available which is why they get me this car. Not refund offered. I tried to call their supposed 24h service which did not answer... I was late and had to take it anyway. I used the car for 3 days. Now 1 week after, I raised an online complain with no reply whatsoever. I had to call to be partially heard and told by a lady that this was not her fault, but mine because I took the car ! She did not apologise and kept repeating that I am responsible for it. She did not offer any compensation neither a refund. Explained she is not the car rental company but simply he broker and said " there is nothing I can do, is there anything else I can do for you today". What a joke. Plus she kept repeating that she was in Ireland and not in germany where I rented the car. I dont see why this is relevant, and telling me that she feels I do not understand, well I think this should be the other way around in customers service, she should understand me, she even asked me "what do you propose?", I couldn't believe it. At the end, I pay for a car I never had, neither something similar, and I did not receive the service I was supposed to. I am having a trip again next week and will be using another company.Very bad experience

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE! I've always used Priceline to book my car rentals and this was the first time that they transferred me to another company - Holiday Autos. It was nothing but trouble trying to book as it would say "Booking Confirmed" after entering in your credit card and then minutes later you would receive an email saying that it was 'cancelled'. I finally got it to work and received an email saying it was confirmed. As I am boarding the plane, I receive an email saying that my reservation is cancelled but I check my credit card and I've been charged three times. The online help system for Holiday Autos is a joke! They put you in a hold system where they hope you will give up. Then the representative tells me that I wasn't charged even when I send screenshots of the charges. Save yourself the hassle and stress; book elsewhere.

Stay away from this company. I had the unfortunate luck to rent a car online to visit Salzburg from Vienna city but I had to go and take the car from Vienna Airport because it is much cheaper there. I made the reservation with debit card (first foul of the company that allows you to make the reservation with a different card instead of the original credit card that was needed). I did the trip from Vienna city to the airport and I arrived at the car rental company only to be informed that I cannot rent a car with a debit card. They didn't give me a refund or even canceled my reservation because of their 48hr policy (I did the reservation the same day). They didn't even give me an alternative solution. This is definitely a fraud to get money. They shouldn't allow a reservation with a debit card. I lost my money and they only gave me the insurance money after I showed how disappointed I was. And of course I lost my trip. Truly a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

I hired a car from addcar through holidayautos This summer at the last week of July in Tiran albania They gave us an awful damaged car and wanted 600 euros deposits And how come they said that by mistaken they debited my credit card instead of just taking a provision for the deposit And you know what around 4 months past and they did not still pay back may 600 euros !!!!! Thieves What can I do ??????? I send several mails and made a lot of phone calls :(((((( I will never use holidayautos and addcar Again

Booked a transfer from Chicago airport to a Hotel. The taxi did not show up and the Holiday Autos emergency line was not answered (!). Incurred extra costs of taxi, phone calls plus the obvious inconvenience. Holiday Autos complaints procedures seem deliberately difficult and designed to deter you from claiming compensation. I would think carefully about using them, there are other options out there!

Do yourself and your family a favour and don't book with Holiday Autos. We provided them with our flight number and they where aware of our arrival time. They offered us a car hire company that closed 1 hour after we land. This was a very cheep and non branded car hire company wee outside the airport - All of the Major ones are within walking distance from the airport. The office was closed when we arrived and holiday autos take no responsibility. Book direct with the car hire company - May cost a little more but you will ensure you have the support direct from the hire company.

Warning - they totally screwed me over! I arrived in Ancona, Italy with a reservation through Holiday Autos. For some weird reason, the hire company couldn't accept my cards (I had 4 Visa Cards and 1 MasterCard, 2 of which were credit cards, 3 debit. They tried one of my credit cards and their machine wouldn't register it. Then refused to try other cards. I was left without a hire-car on a road-trip, Ruined my holiday. This wouldn't have happened if I would have booked directly with the car-hire place. Holiday Autos have refused to refund me or deal with my complaint unless I send them lots of bank statements. So my holiday got ruined AND I still had to pay for it. DO NOT USE THEM - better to book directly as if you have a problem its much easier to deal with!!

Paid £387 GBP for 8 days rental after I broke down on my way to Dover then Calais France ,so only option was renting a car to catch my ferry after my breakdown insurance wrongly booked starting date so I was not covered on that day. I spoke with Hertz and Holiday Auto The agent confirmed to me that MAN Airport takes debit card and if any issue to ring back. She was professional and very helpful during taking payment. Paid the fund plus insurance and went to collect at Man Airport 11PM Very cold with 4 kids,Agent started asking if I really wanted 8 seaters 3 times I said yes, he went in and out for 30 minutes only to be told that I failed a credit check and I will not get the vehicle to contact experien for reason.I showed him I have experien account in my mobile it can't be,he insisted that in his computer it shows customer not found so he is initiating the refund and I should receive within next 5 working days. I offered him another card he said no it has to be same card I used to book to run a credit check and he does not know the reason why he can not see me at all in his database. Today is 10 days back from holidays no refund I contacted them only to be told maybe I did not have enough money so I need to send them proof. this time she is no longer helpful because is to pay back the money ,I had enough money with 6 times the amount they required for deposit ,I sent them bank statement now they are looking into this ,agent confirmed I spoke to them regarding debit card prior booking but does not know the reason why I was not given so it might take 20 days to establish and I am entitled to some compensation not a refund . I told her I need full refund not a compensation and this is what the Customer service told me Hertz should not offer u a refund, So beware some TC they asked you to confirm with a car rental company but when it comes to pay back this does not apply as HERTZ Clearly states refund will be given in I don't know the reason myself what was the reason I did not have the car, is it a Credit check or no car I have no idea. I will take this to my Bank to claim chargeback first this is not one of the TC that if you fail credit check no refund will be given . I give them 14 days to resolve first .I have high score on my experien and my name is on electoral with no bad credit I can see the search they done appears in my credit search the same day so I need to know why they did not give me the car ended up losing 4 nights of hotel booking plus missing ferry which I am now claiming through travelling insurance . Now I have accepted Cheap is expenses (buy cheap and always buy another one cost you more while buy expensive and stay with it forever.. Today they reply to me that tc states if u fail security no refund so I have no idea what I failed because I would not fail security I had all documentation as u know I was traveling.. Passport, Drivers licence, bills, work bank statement etc. And my name clearly on eloctral.. Now I'm waiting 20 days to hear from them. I believe hertz did not have the car that day cause prior to this I rented with Thrifty car for a month and had no issue.

We booked a car for 4 days to collect at midday from Milan airport, however we were delayed and arrived at 5 pm to collect car from Gold Car. We were told that we were too late & our agreement had been terminated by you. We paid for the car for 4 days so whatever time we turn up should make no difference. We had to hire another car which showed online price of 70 euros got charged 299 euros, if we wanted on line price we would have to wait 3 hours! It a total scam as our friends booked with Avis and they were delayed the at same time and were able to pick up their car without an issue. .

We missed our flight and had to fly out the following day and when we tried to amend the booking online it would not let us do it as it was less than 24 hrs before pick up. Phoned them and nobody was answering their phone. We ended having to pay for a weeks hire even though we didn't have the car. Avoid this con company at every cost, it's not worth the few pennies you save when you book with them as their customer service is non existent,,,

We weren't able to pick up the car from Rome airport because we only had Amex and a debit card. We'd already paid our deposit using Amex with Holiday Autos, and it wasn't made clear to us that we might require a different card for the pick-up. The car hire company (Goldcar) asked us to call Holiday Autos in order to transfer the booking to another company within the airport, the majority of which accepted either debit or Amex. Holiday Autos refused to do this, and declared us a "no-show". They then hung-up when we asked for a refund. We were left stranded at the airport until we were able to arrange alternative travel to our destination, and missed much of the wedding we had traveled to Italy to attend.
