Great location and view from the apartment of the Abbey. The bay window was a lovely view although needed cleaning and shame it did not open as hot very humid when hot! The carpets were covered in marks however they were hoovered nicely. The kitchen was nicely stocked and was a nice addition of dishwasher tablets. It was not mentioned about three flights of stairs to get to this apartment so may be worth taking into consideration when booking. The lock is very difficult to use when opening the door - took multiple times every time which was a pain and did not seem very secure. The apartment is very spacious and we enjoyed our stay overall. Especially that it was pet friendly :) It’s also worth noting that there is no parking, there is a car park very close but costly when you want to stay for longer than a day. When we have previously stayed we have had a scratch card and been able to park for free on the streets, this may be worth investing in future.

Coastguard cottage is a very pretty nicely renovated cottage in a nice private location. A very very steep hill to climb to get to it from the sea front so not suitable for disabled or those with compromised mobility. Well stocked with lovely crockery etc. I would recommend the owners replace the pillows on the bed which are not ideal.I would also ask the cleaning agency to clean windows inside. I would stay here again happily.

Stayed at Green Yard House in Whitby. Great location. House was well prepared and needed nothing extra for our two day stay. Would have liked a later check out than 10am. Cost of stay for 6 persons was excellent! There was no parking available with the property but council parking lot far away. I would use this property again.

Really poor hosts, communication is incredibly unhelpful. Charlie took great pleasure in frustrating me, intentionally misinterpreting anything that had the slightest hint of ambiguity. They also charged undisclosed fees on the deposit that is supposed to just cover accidental damage to cover the "processing cost" of returning my deposit even though there was absolutely no damage done and they confirmed they would return the "full deposit". Its been 7 weeks and I've still not been given my full refund even though they said it would be maximum 14 days.

The apartment in Scarborough was lovely and ideal for what we needed. Close to the open air theatre so could walk down. Beautifully decorated and well laid out. The only thing I would say is there were no covers on the mattress or pillows which look clean but won’t stay that way with no covers.

Beautiful place, well equipped and clean. Close to restaurants and bars in Whitby. Mattress felt a little cheap but apart from that I would highly recommend this place to stay

Whitby is a lovely friendly place, our accommodation was very central for all our needs, however inside the property would benefit with a fresh coat of paint all over. As for cleanliness there was no products to clean bathroom and kitchen. The in house Alexa did not work. Unfortunately a dust and hoover was not applied before arrival and would have improved our stay.Small requirements was missing eg, salt and pepper sugar was low. Hope you can find this comments useful for future stays.

The apartment in Alnwick was a real home from home, clearly loved by the owners it was clean, well presented and full of lovely touches. It was in a great central location (very handy for shops, pubs and restaurants)and had a breathtaking view of the castle from the bedroom. We would definitely stay here again.

The location of the apartment is perfect and the the apartment was more than big enough for 3 of us we had really good weekend and the apartment made life easy we could cook food and enjoy watching the euros with a few pre drinks cannot thank you enough

We stayed at Seal Watch in Whitby, the apartment was perfect. Clean and tidy. Equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. When I messaged Host & Stay with minor queries, Charlie was really prompt with replying and offering a solution if needed. We will happily use Host and Stay again... 5⭐️

My review from booking.com: Don't come here. You're better off staying at the travelodge which is right next door but is 1/3rd of the price and actually habitable. I arrived too late in the day to find something available that evening. I left the next morning and cut my stay short after having one of the worst experiences staying in a property - and I travel a fair amount. Key highlights: 1. The property is literally a building site with scaffolding all over 2. The patio was bolted shut, scaffolding blocking the view and there is no furniture. I have pictures which show the comparison vs. the listing essentially showing that this is a bait and switch. The windows were dirty, patio floor not cleaned so the view from the room is filth and scaffolding. 3. There is no window which means no fresh air circulation. On top of which the place stinks and there's no way to air it out. 4. Toilet seat was broken, literally ripped off its hinges and therefore very uncomfortable to use. Toilet roll had 2 uses left and no spares. 5. No running hot water 6. The sofa was dirty, so were the sheets, there was dust everywhere inside and small hairs in the bathroom. Actually disgusting. 7. The bed was uncomfortable and sunken in The property is up 6 flights of stairs, no lifts. Check-in requires going to a newsagents with limited opening hours so be prepared to drag your suitcase back and forth and up the flight as there's no adjacent parking. I suspect this is not made clear on the listing intentionally to draw you in. There are a whole list of other things such as the general state of the appliances, but honestly even before we get to that the place is pretty much uninhabitable. To further matters, the property owner Host & Stay and booking.com were useless at dealing with this in real time and I was left to myself to figure out alternative accommodation for the next day, ruining half the weekend I had planned. The property is in a state of disrepair, looks nothing like the listing. Patio is inaccessible, there is no other window or ventilation in a very small space. Scaffolding and works all over. Dust everywhere, hairs in the bathroom. It's uninhabitable. I had to leave this place early and I've had to spend a lot of time chasing chase for any sort of satisfactory response from the property or booking.com.. Update: I was offered an insultingly low amount after I spent a cumulative 5+ hours on the phone and several more on messages to both booking.com and the property. The offer didn't even make a dent in the cost of the alternative accommodation I had to sort let alone try to actually compensate me. I continue to assess my options in terms of contacting my credit card company to get any kind of result. Probably not worth escalating this to legal action but maybe an ombudsman exists? All I received as a response is infuriating AI-generated template response from the property in response to the review apologizing and admitting everything yet not offering anything real by way of returning the money. This is literally all they will send to you as communication while not actually responding to anything.

Honestly the nicest place I’ve ever stayed and the beds and super comfy the train station isn’t that far away and there’s so many pubs nearby
