“We are enjoying the new window inserts and the reduced noise levels they provide. Despite being warned that if we already had double panes wi does, the improvement would be minimal, we’ve actually seen marked improvement in noise levels and can finally sleep at night.”

“I was overwhelmingly impressed with Indow from start to finish, despite a lot of reluctance at the start. Kaya my “fit specialist” was very informative and candid about costs and timing constraints due to supply chain issues. After researching a DIY option, I found that Indow’s costs were not actually excessively more than going directly through an acrylic sheet manufacturer (very big windows). I also pleasantly surprised to find that all five inserts fit perfectly, with the exception of one insert, which Kelly, my claims coordinator, was extremely helpful to quickly remedy, including sending me both abrasion remover and grip strips. Would highly recommend Indow!”

“Our new home is a bit too close to a major road and we were looking for a noise abatement solution that would help us sleep better at night. We found Indow after a lot of searching and determined it was likely the best solution for us. Now that we've had the product installed for a few weeks, it has been a huge improvement and has really exceeded our expectations. For someone dealing with similar road noise issues, I would highly recommend it. Sizing process was straightforward, and installation was fairly easy.”

“I think the product is fantastic. What a great idea. I did find the DYI element to be not quite as easy as the website seemed to suggest. I'm moderately handy at best, and it was a little intimidating to do the measuring and installation. When it was all said and done, the inserts are working well to reduce sound and keep heat in the house, so there was a happy ending for me. I plan to install them in all of my skylights. One caveat about skylight inserts: In my case, I installed an insert in a skylight with a varnished wood frame. Pushing the tight-fitting (it has to be tight-fitting in order to be effective, of course) insert into place caused varnish flecks to come loose and land on the glass. Can't clean that side without removing the insert, so there's kind of a catch 22 there. The original outer lens of the skylight in this case is frosted glass, so it's not a big deal for me, but if someone wanted a nice piece of clear glass through which to see the sky, they might need to install some 3 or 4" wide vinyl or metal trim in the frame before installing the insert in order to avoid this issue.”

“After moving into our new house we discovered the excessive noise from a nearby train line and highway. This noise is so bad that we were unable to sleep for the first 6 months of owning the house. I enquired about Indow inserts, ordered them and waited for their delivery. The delivery time was 12 weeks however we were notified of this delay at the time of ordering. The windows were delivered and were packed very sturdy (Hats off to those who did the packing), we then fitted the inserts - AN INSTANT SUCCESS. All thanks to Tyler Johnson who made the entire process easy and made me feel at ease all the time. My wife and I would not hesitate to recommend Indow to anyone!”

“We purchased the inserts for our bedroom mainly for road noise and also AC noise. Cost for the one room was 3000.00. We did have some challenges installing but did make adjustments.They did help with AC noise but did little or nothing for road noice. Still hear the cars go by. We had much higher expectations than results! We feel for the cost they should have reduced much more noise! Seems many others feel the same.”

JK, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction performance you had expected. All sound sitautions are unique and often sounds can enter through areas other than the window openings. While the independent tests show the effectiveness of our inserts, differences in other construction materials in the home and/or the source and character of the sound can necessitate using other soundproofing methods in conjunction with our acoustic inserts. That said, we would be happy to work with you to ensure your are maximizing the performance of the inserts.

“The process to measure, receive, and install the windows was excellent. My only problem is there are placed in the double hung windows of my 120 year old home. Placing against the bottom sash works well, but there's a 2 inch space to the frame/glass of the upper sash. I can't push against the top and upper sides to install the insert tightly as it isn't against anything. Not sure how I would have measured to make this tighter. I think a particular problem with oriel double hungs with a larger lower sash.”

“I needed the Indow insert for privacy and it works well - as advertised. Installation was made easy by following directions. The only problem was the safety chain is too short.”

“The windows are exactly what I wanted and the quality I expected. The measuring, ordering, delivery and installation process went smoothly. Though assistance was simply a phone call away, I did not need anything beyond the YouTube video links provided along the way. We are very satisfied with our Indow window inserts.”

“The reason I'm not completely satisfied is because the demo video for soundproofing WAY over-promised on how effective it was. It was unrealistic of me to expect so much. Maybe it stops ordinary noise but I bought it to try and stop a barking dog, but it's no match for a barking dog. It did cut the barking by maybe half though, so it's something. It's probably helping with insulation too. Easy to setup. It did take 3 months to arrive though. Supply chain issues. The packaging is a LOT to dispose of and required the help of a friend. Had to bribe the delivery guy to help me carry it to my condo.”

Joseph, Thanks for the review and the specific feedback. Of course, we do not intend to mislead anyone with our information/videos. We will certainly take another look to see if there is a more succinct and effective way to demonstrate the sound performance qualities. You are correct that sometimes sounds need additional soundproofing techniques to reduce specific frequencies or sounds. We are happy to hear it has reduced the barking by half. This is within the 50-70% estimates derived from the independent tests. We can also assure you that the inserts do provide good energy savings returns as well. While we are now beginning to see some positive signs, pandemic-related supply chain issues do conitnue to linger and we recognize the impact that has. We are working every day to assess and improve lead times in any way that we can. We also acknowledge that the packaging is considerable. While this protection is necessary for freight environments, we are continually looking for lighter, more effective ways to package and deliver our inserts. We appreciate the effort on our part to accomdoate the shipment. Thanks again for taking the time to provide a review.

“We are very happy with the inserts in our master bedroom. They have decreased freeway noise by at least 50%. We notice more noise coming in through the door than the from the windows. They were a tight fit and hard to install due to their size, but the online videos helped.”

From our records, it looks as though our fit specialist had previous conversations about the many variables involved in mitigating low frequencies. All sound situations are unique and sometimes require additional soundproofing techniques to help reduce sound (especially the low frequencies discussed) entering through areas other than the windows. That said, we would love the opportunity to troubleshoot the fit of your inserts to ensure your are getting maximum performance from your inserts.

“Indow was great to work with. Most of my questions I was able to self serve, and anything they didn't already have available they were very quick with thoughtful responses. Lead time was pretty close to what they quoted. The last mile delivery company in my area wasn't the greatest, but Indow followed up and followed through until the inserts arrived. Would 100% work with them again.”

“I live next to a very busy road and we have a lot of large construction trucks and other deafening vehicles frequently driving past. The traffic noise got so bad that it would sometimes drown out low noises inside the house, like quiet music or soft white noise. I purchased Indow's acoustic inserts knowing they would not block out all of this noise, especially since I only have about an inch of space between the windows and the inserts. But they still block out a lot of the regular traffic noise and dampen the rest to a point where my brain can tune it out. The inserts were easy to install and are not noticeable. And although there was a long wait for production and delivery, Indow has exceptional customer service, and they really went above and beyond to communicate with me and to ensure the inserts got delivered when I had trouble with the freight company.”
