As a now former service center for Intoxalock, I can confirm just about every review I am reading. This is the 4th different IID company I have worked with in the last 15 years. Without a shadow of a doubt, they are also the worst. You will spend over 30 minutes on hold every time you call (if you are lucky). Their equipment DOES kill batteries. I have had many clients have a brand new battery dead within a month or two. The "customer service" on our end is just as bad as that of the client's end.

Thieves. Steal over and over and over. Just got in my car passed started it. The thing immediately says failed all while my car is running. Counts down for no reason. I blow, pass again. Now it's giving me the 4 days. I went got it unlocked. Over the they admitted the device Fuc#ed up. I have to pay the fees. Also this is my 7-8th lock out. 2 tows. They literally just steal money whenever they feel like it

Passed all breathalyzer, still locked out, stranded alone on the side of the Thruway overnight!! There is absolutely no reason to even consider Intoxalock please trust me. I won’t get into past issues as they don’t compare to what I have just went through. Also I am honest and after 10 days of hell with the agents over a typo in the year on their end which prevented my car from starting, a higher up reached out and was great. But, this one can’t be fixed. So, I was on the thruway this past weekend and I pulled off to a rest area to look at directions when my car shut down. I didn’t know what was wrong so naturally I set the breathalyzer and attempted to start the car. I blew into the breathalyzer, PASSED (I’ve never failed a test) and My car wouldn’t start (turns out it was the key). I was then locked out by Intoxalock. I called customer service and it was confirmed I had passed but because I didn’t start the car immediately after blowing In the breathalyzer I was locked out. Well I couldn’t start the car for one, and, No one ever told me that for one, and why am I being locked out for any other reason other than failing a test?! What is more, I was told per New York State law, they were not able to unlock me over the phone. Then why would they lock out anyone in this position for passing a test??! So, i was stuck on the side of the thruway, alone, scared and stranded. Oh and on the very last of my cell phone battery! I was on the line with Intoxalock panicked and crying because for one, it was near dark and you have to go through the New York State Thruway Authority to have your car towed. Not any tow truck can tow you from a thruway and they were closed. I explained that I am a woman and I was alone about to be without a cell phone and was told “sorry, nothing we can do”. I was literally terrified and told them it was an emergency and was again told they would not help. I had to rely on a stranger and risk my safety to use their phone while I waited alone in the dark on the side of a thruway for a ride. I had to leave my car there overnight (with the windows down as everything locked and couldn’t put them up) then come back at 9am when the Thruway Authority opened, pay for a tow out of my own pocket and then pay for the Intoxalock device to be unlocked. I was treated no differently than someone who blew positive! It’s been a genuine nightmare for something so simple as getting my spare key and being on my way. Thank god I’m alive to write this! No thanks to Intoxalock! Look elsewhere!! Especially if you are a woman!

I have not had a positive breath sample nor have I missed a calibration, but I am locked out. Ask customer service what is going on and they can’t answer the question. I know have to have my car towed at my own expensive. This has happened twice. I have also had to have the device replaced 3 times because it was faulty. This company is a huge scam and very disrespectful. DO NOT USE.

Horrible customer service all of them a re rude even the supervisor. I was given a false positive test. They said I blew 7 minutes later! False I blew two minutes later I didn’t eat, drink or wear anything to set it off. It’s a scam don’t use them. !!!! They just want your money!!

I would put 0 stars if it was an option. I have had decent conversations with Intoxalock in the past but today was beyond disappointing. When I called in I reached a representative named Nelson. He was polite and opened the call professionally. Unfortunately I have been unable to start my car the last couple of days due to having shortness of breath. When I called two days ago I was told to get a doctor’s confirmation of this and my breathing requirement could be adjusted. Mark, who I spoke to the other day, was kind and showed empathy due to how frustrating of a situation I was in. I paid for Ubers to get around the last couple of days and to get to Urgent Care today. I sent the paperwork to the appropriate email address and called today to ask if there was any way to expedite this due to the circumstances and how much money I’ve already shelled out on rides for not being able to start my own car being sick. Nelson not only showed 0 empathy or even acknowledged my sickness, but he told me he couldn’t help me and could not transfer me to a supervisor. I work in a call center and have been connected to a supervisor at Intoxalock in the past so I knew this was not the truth. He kept ignoring my ask to be transferred and eventually told me he would but dumped me right back into the main queue. The next representative I got was friendly, kind, showed empathy, and got me to a supervisor. Unfortunately the supervisor had the same attitude as Nelson and I was unable to have my issue resolved. My suggestion here overall? A little kindness goes a long way. Why are you working in customer service if you don’t know how to show empathy? Blows my mind!!

Customer service is the worst! they make you sign an agreement including device Insurance and for roadside assistance and they charge you bi-weekly about $85 Also, they will charge you for a lock out $80 plus service shop fee $32 if you are battery run low because the device needs enough volts to function, so constantly you need to keep charging your battery. Every Customer representative will give a different answer to the same question. Or they will give you a wrong answer and contradict each other. I recommend to hire any other Interlock company in the market than Intoxalock. I have been a customer for over 6 months and I hate it! I can't change to another company now because I have to pay for another installation fee so, I am stuck with it for another 5 months.

I cannot wait to see this company in court. It’s likely it was alcohol. It’s likely it was alcohol that created the false positive. Who would be dumb enough to drink six drinks and blow into that Intoxalock knowing that they’re gonna fail, mind you while on probation. The only person that would do that is somebody that either wants to get violated or a person that wants to pay a $75 fee and get violated. You can’t eat fresh fruit don’t eat or drink in your car have that wire wrapped around your leg. God forbid you got heartburn God forbid you use hand sanitizer. God forbid you brush your teeth. This company is the biggest joke goofy business in the world, but I’m going to invest in this company because they keep getting money biggest joke in the entire world. I’m gonna file a lawsuit, win, and invest in your company. Highway robbery is what it is so I’ll see you in court and the courts will see you.

Do not go with this company my infraction happened in a state where I am not licensed. It took at least four months and probably about 100 hours of my time to finally get them to send the required information to Arizona Department of motor vehicles. This company is pitiful!

Worst company ever . They have messed up everything they’ve ever had to do for me . From the DMV forms , to lying about their location . Most of them are in India. They are not trained properly , they hit you with hidden fees at every turn . And their devices are outdated and unreliable . Iv gone through 3 of them in 8 months . And they make you pay for it. Go with any other company but intoxilock , unless you want to sit on the phone with someone in India Atleast once week for the next year of your life

every single person i spoke to was unwilling to help. i was belittled and yelled at by two of them. they wouldn’t even talk to someone who works for the auto shop that my car was being worked on. i keep being transferred and the buck keeps getting passed. awful. if there was a different option i’d go with that 100 times out of 100. honestly probably the worst customer service i’ve ever experienced. this is also like the first review i’ve ever written. normally i wouldn’t, because mistakes happen and i try to be as understanding as possible. but damn dude

These people are horrible. They interrupt you intentionally and make mistakes left and right and are extremely unprofessional. Half of the phone conversations I had with them ended up with fights and them slamming the phone down for no reason. They don't seem to keep good records and are basically a bunch of rude angry trolls.

Overbilling. When I finally had the device UN-installed they said I owed $90 dollars. I planned on paying it on Friday when I got paid. I had earlier taken my card off automatic payment A few days later they took 160 out of my account. I called intoxalox and the rep said we accidentally overcharged you $70 because you never agreed to the extra fees. (I had to wait 20 minutes on hold so he could listen to my recorded conversation) he said the $should hit my bank on Tuesday. Several weeks went by and I called every week asking where my $ is. Finally they told me I won’t be getting my $back. Also when I first had it installed it wasn’t done properly and I had to disconnect the battery to get a better connection. They told me they had to bill me $75 for my battery being disconnected for one minute. Horrible customer support. All kinds of fees only a lawyer could dream up. Worse company I’ve ever had to deal with. Avoid them like the plague!

absolutely terrible company. i called and paid this ignorant company an extra $25 dollars to get an extension for my calibration. the guy (who i could hardly understand) told me i had 2 hours. not ONCE did he say i could only start my car once. my bf went out to make sure my car would start, as i had been out of town for a week. he let me know it worked and we went to go get it calibrated but it said not serviced on time. i called TWO more times and spoke to 2 other completely ignorant and greedy people. (mind u i still have an hour as i’m typing this) told me i have to get towed there’s nothing they can do. terrible company who just wants our money. couldn’t recommend less. the girls names i spoke to were grace and sarah. i think the boy was nick. obviously not their real names. they answer with lies, talking ab they understand. they also told me they’d transfer me to a higher up and ended the call. nothing but bad things to say ab this greedy ass company.
