Several employees at this JCPenney location in 1321 N Columbia Center Blvd #100, Kennewick, WA 99336, are being harassed and threatened by management — specifically the new Store Manager, Joshua Vaughn, and his assistant (Juana). Workers are being told that if they don’t get enough customers to sign up for store credit cards, their hours will be cut or they could even lose their jobs.

Because of this toxic environment, many workers have already quit. Those who remain are stressed every single day, scared of being yelled at, threatened, or punished for something completely outside their control.

“I have been a Penney’s shopper for many years, but your sales suck! Every time I get a coupon, it’s not good for anything I buy. On the back of the coupon it lists about 50 things that are exempt but you need a magnifying glass to read it. Yesterday I spent almost $700 there and had a 50% off coupon. It wasn’t good for one thing I bought! Starting to really hate this store!”
“I recently placed an order on JC Penny’s website. Everything went through as it should, when I contacted customer service, they informed me everything went out and was delivered in a timely manner. When I explained they had sent it to an old outdated address, she explained it was definitely delivered weeks ago & there was nothing they could do! I further explained, that address was several years old & should have been removed from the account, she just reiterated they could do nothing. I’m finished with my lifelong relationship I’ve enjoyed with JC Penny and as a matter of principle I will not do any more business with them. It’s easy to see why they’ve been in bankruptcy protection for years with such poor customer service!

“I placed 2 orders from JCP.com, approximately 2 weeks apart. Today I received the second shipment portion of the first order, nearly a week later than the first shipment. All items were clothing. The first part of the order contained 4 items, one of which was not the size I ordered. I had to return it to our sad little JC Penney store in Valley Hills Mall, Hickory, NC. It is nearly empty. The staff were all very helpful. This is no reflection on them at all. Part two of the first order contained 3 items, 2 of which were not the sizes that I ordered. That's 43% of one order that was incorrect. I will be returning these to the same store in the morning. Their returns by mail require me to pay shipping fees and who knows what else. I cannot wait to see what is wrong with the shipment of my second order. I will never shop JC Penney's again. There is no excuse for employees paid to pull orders not being able to read simple orders. And the customer service personnel answering calls are just clueless and KNOW NOTHING... except of course what to charge you for needing to correct their mistakes. No wonder the company can't stay in the black. BYE-BYE Say hello to Belk for me.”

“JCPenney used to be a great place to get quality items for a great price. I bought three sweaters. Two adult women medium and on XXL. The two mediums were for girls age 8 and 10. The women’s medium sweaters were so small a 5 year old would have issues and super thin, thinner than a tshirt! What good is tha sweater and the XXL was about the size of a medium and just as thin. This is the second and last time I will shop JCPenney. Sad because my memories date back to the big Christmas book that used to be mailed out in the 60s!”

“Please do not apply for Synchrony bank card for JCP you get a hard hit for applying then they close your card if you dont use it without notice. Only got it a few months ago didnt use it right away. My score dropped 80 points. They apparently have several complaints for various issues uncluding misleading consumers.
Sucks because i have been going to jcp my whole life and have come to know the store employees. Synchriny is a digital bank abd they are the worst experience.”
“I recently received my Stafford 100% Cotton Men's T-Shirts. I've been buying these for probably 40 years now. They've always been great, except for the last shipment. These stretch like they are 20% or more spandex or polyester. They are DEFINITELY NOT 100% COTTON!
I don't know if this was simply a labeling error or a change in quality. I'm sad because I've always receiving a great product. But, I don't want a mixed synthetic fiber when I order 100% cotton!”
“I have called nine times today – maybe 10 – to find out about the pictures that I took on July 21. I do not not fault the photographer in any way, because he was great, but I fault the system. I have not been able to get through to anyone in Albany or Schenectady, NY over a period of many hours today. I am having to go there personally on Monday and hoping that my pictures have not been deleted from the system because no one will answer me about whether or not my pictures will be there after eight days. It is very frustrating to be told that I will talk to a representative and then be put on a voicemail and no one calls me back. This is not the first time. So I think it’s a system failure with JCPenney.”
“I returned merchandise that added up to $79.00. Penney’s refunded me $29.95. I will never shop there again. That in my opinion is stealing so think hard about ever ordering anything for JCPenney !!!! Maybe that is why they are all closing”
“I would like to file a formal complaint regarding the behavior of a staff member at the Belk store located in Roanoke, VA (Tanglewood Mall). On July 9, 2025, at approximately 6:35 PM, I had a very unpleasant experience at Register 103 (Transaction ID: 7592, Associate ID: -012343, Store #462).
The woman assisting at the Estée Lauder counter made racially insensitive remarks and argued with me for trying a product from the showcase. Instead of offering an apology, she escalated the situation by falsely accusing me of coming to the store every day, which is completely untrue. Her behavior was unprofessional and deeply upsetting, ruining what should have been a routine visit.
I have been a loyal Estée Lauder customer and even made a purchase that day. However, due to the unacceptable interaction, I am now considering returning the product.
I hope this matter will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately.

“If you or anyone you know have decided to have your photos taken at JcPenney’s PLEASE DO NOT! I had a session on June 6 and was expecting prints in the mails in 7-10 days. I still have not received photos and they can’t figure out shipping info. The photos were reordered and I still have to wait another 7-10 days before they are delivered. This has been a disaster it’s been over a month dealing with them. Customer service is horrible and they do not accomodate customers for anything. Please have do not give them any business.”
“Bought my son luggage for Christmas, went to use large suite case for his vacation and it was all torn up the zipper was broken. So I called JCPENNEYS been with them for a really long time first complaint they told me it been to long since I bought the set. If you buy things from Costco they don't even ask questions about what went wrong with the product.
