Awful waste of time. Denied me an account for reasons 'they can't go into' although my credit score is excellent and I earn a great salary. I guess I'll take my business elsewhere.

Monzo shut my account down and have put something against my name for getting sent money from a friend. I have sent letter after letter to try and get this sorted. 3 years on and still hasn't been resolved. Absolute shambles of a bank.

Awful bank! Shut me down due to not being able to back up three transactions under £50 to friends and family! Also stopped me from getting an account anywhere else! Scumbags as they hold your money too! Avoid!!!

Monzo Bank is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Monzo bank allowed 3 unauthorised transactions to be taken from my account (more than 355 euros). I reported the problem over 2 weeks ago and I have explained that I am in financial difficulty and there is serious customer detriment as a result of their action. I contact them most days repeating this and asking that they refund my money - however all I get is "I am so sorry for the delay" and "thanks for your patience". The Monzo team hide behind email and text "chat" and have no interest or ability to call you to talk to you to resolve the problem. Their processes are such that they ask actively encourage customers to send in personal data and documents by insecure email. Do not use this bank under any circumstances!!! People can take money from your account and you cannot stop it, and once it happens it may take weeks or months or even longer to get your money back. If you want to keep your money and you account safe, I strongly recommend that you choose a different bank!

Monzo blocked my card while I was travelling. Didn‘t give me a reason, and support team was not able to help. It’s now day 3 of not having access to money while in a foreign country

Terrible customer services, in the space of 6 weeks since I Opened a bank account with them, my account has been frozen twice, last time started 9 days ago and is still blocked, would not recommend to my worst enemy! Of course no explanations given as to why my account is frozen, maybe they are freely profiting from my deposit

They blocked our account without any reason on Friday evening and go for the weekend. Now it is Sunday evening and still no access. Don’t use them at least not for your main account!

Monzo is the most horrible bank that I have ever experienced. I was asked to provide the evidence to the Help team but no reply at all. Even after raising a formal complaint, the Complaint team keeps passing me on to new team members and keeps missing the deadlines promised by themselves. It’s absolutely fine if you have no problem otherwise it’s nightmare to deal with Monzo. I wonder if they deliberately trying to delay the whole process by holding the customers’ money for their profit making purpose?

I had spoken to a staff whose not alert and asked repeated questions wherein it’s in my message already that I sent to her in the chat. It’s been 34th days and still staff are still asking the same questions. Staff are not trained to deal with the frauds and scams. They are just normal people who doesn’t have knowledge at all the step by step on how to investigate fraud. It’s so irritating and it’s like you’re having a dumb conversation in the chat.

I had £420 fraudulently taken from my monzo account. My card was still in my possession and my pin has never been shared with anyone. Somehow the individual making the transaction was able to circumnavigate the monzo security features which is that any online payment requires you to input a pin sent to your phone/app. On this occasion that did not happen and so the payment went through. Monzo recognised there was a problem as the company proceeded with my request to cancel my card and replaced it straight away. I immediately reported this to Monzo as a fraud. I heard nothing. I had to message Monzo asking for an update. This took 2 weeks. Still no one responded to my request for an update. I was then advised that the £420 would not be repaid. No explanation given. No information provided as to how they came to that decision. No information given about the complaints procedure. I have been trying to get a response from the complaints team for about a month. I haven't had a response. The only replies I get are to say they are busy which I think tells you everything you need to know about Monzo. My advice is not to use Monzo-ever. If you have money with monzo I would move it today to a reputable bank that will protect your money from fraud. I would recommend the cooperative bank who, when I had a fraud previously, immediately sought to repay the money taken.

If you ever get scammed, they won’t help you, so there is no security with them at all. And you know what you want from a bank? SECURITY. Their customer service is shocking as well, speaking to anyone is absolutely impossible. They’ll make all their decisions without ever speaking to you. I highly recommend no one uses them.

Awful bank. I don't this is an actual bank. Avoid at all costs. They are liars. Do not use them. They do not offer any customer service and provide any customer service like Marcus Long who is completely inept. Awful customer service and they are inept. They are trying to promote gold diggers. There are gold diggers begging for free charity.

I’m so done with this bank. Every time I get payment from someone they lock it they need proof why from who all details tho it’s same person like my husband etc. and no they closed my account without explanation and kept my money 💰 god thx I never keep more then £5 there since the locking my acc often I decide not to risk and they don’t even bother to give me my money now. Be aware !!!! Stay with Revolut .

USER BEWARE- I'm currently undergoing a process with financial ombudsman over a missing paycheck that Monzo have somehow 'lost'. That's right folks. Your hard earned money can simply be 'lost' by your bank. And not only that, the customer service response. Is cyclical email auto response and different team members never actually answering your questions. Iv been asked to have a call with them four times now which they never do and they send you back to circles of online bots. What does this teach us? Online banks are cowboys guys pure and simple. If this was a traditional bank I would not deal with this level of ineptitude if not cirminality (let's wait for ombudsman response). I would say please NEVER get your paycheck directly onto a Monzo account. Cuz if you are relying on your pay for say I dunno, rent, then Monzo could quite easily cost you your home.

I have Monzo in the US. I had to dispute a transaction for which I did not receive cash back and also a cash app transaction. When I disputed the agent (Mike) took hours at a time to respond and did not inform me that my card would be blocked until after he did it. Next after asking him to remove the dispute if my card would need to be blocked, as I still needed the card and couldn’t wait 7 days for a new one, he told me that not only would my card be blocked but in fact my entire account shut down. This was with no warning or notice. Just a hours long chat. I called the us support phone number more than 10 times and they tell me there is no agent available and hang up.

DO NOT USE MONZO!!! Blocked my account 3 weeks ago just before I had major surgery. Still no replacement sent out. They will try and claim to be investigating internally, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL CUSTOMER REVIEWS BEFORE MAKING A DECISION THAT WILL, AT SOME STAGE, MAKE YOU REGRET IT. It's a shame as they started off well and I've been with them since the beginning, even completed various feedback forms to help them build the product. But now, surprise surprise they are forgetting the people that got them there, the customers. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

Worst company they refusing to pay my money which l earned legitimately . I have been pleading with them to pay my balance from a business account which they closed. They said they made a mistake on the sort code . They said they returned the money to the originally sender all untrue as the sender is my uncle and we have confirmed with his bank that this is not true. When l tell Monzo they change and say they have began the the process of sending my money to me. Another day they say the matter is closed as they have paid me. Then another time they say l have put a complaint about why they closed my account none of it true . I only asked for my money which was in the account . I have sent over twenty emails . I am now engaging financial ombudsman and also enquiring on the legal law suits so that if this matter continues l will be claiming for all the inconvenience the extra cost incurred which was unnecessary. They continue to ignore all my pleas to just pay my balance . I feel unfairly treated by Monzo. To all the customers of Monzo be very careful of their conduct as l am in shock and in loss from this experience

Beta tester here! A current account is actually a deposit account, but you can’t deposit money into the bank if it’s more than £700 in a role in 180 day period which is useless. Also they are now take me to 3 weeks to process cheques!! I’m also a shareholder but I hope they go bust I don’t mind lose in a couple of hundred quid in shares!
