Lived in my house 2.5 years bill always $300-600 per quarter . Recieved a $1,200 bill and questioned it as I also have solar they put me on a better rate so they said, I reduced dryer use by half and stopped fish tank and water fountain filter and now just received a $2425 dollar quarter bill. Wtf ??

Terrible customer service and zero loyalty to a customer after 17 years. Will over charge, will apply the worst rates unless you constantly ring them, customer service reps have zero f's to give.

I have used origin for 25 years business and home the service is the worst I have ever had to deal with tried to resolve the problem for 12 months phone call after phone call I wish they would use the recordings for training and coaching like it said Thank goodness I am never using this company again And advice anyone do to use them

Choice says "one of the worst performers in the market" Boy is that right! I cant get them to send me a regular bill, sometimes its quarterly sometimes its every 6 months, i cant see my usage since April 2023 and no matter how many times i call to beg for a bill or at least an amount or even a vague idea of usage so i can budget for their high prices i get nothing but some parrot saying "technical issue that has unfortunately impacted the billing cycle" but this has been going on for over 12 months, if you are thinking of going with origin....don't, they are the most inept company you will ever deal with

Undisclosed annual fee charged, overpriced ‘equipment’ use and hounded me until a final demand sent threatening to cut off my service. Will never use this company again and will advise all I know to avoid engaging Origin as a supplier

It is a disgusting service. I have asked 4th time when I get my gas, still they just send me the bill which I have to pay on Dec, I have not received the gas. I am out of gas for 5 days now. I am so so disgusted by the no service of Origin. One start is way too many star for Origin. They only thinking about the money. They do not care about the customers need.

I have direct debit set up with Origin n pay small amounts fortnightly. I received a letter in June saying prices were going up yet again, I received same letter June 22. Once upon a time my bills were much the same n if it was higher, I knew why, my hot water heater was leaking. After reading reviews I can understand why I hadn't had a bill in many mths,Origin didn't tell me why, they just sent me a bill for over $1000. It was a shock n made me so angry, they were so happy about their new look bill. Origin thought they cld just debit my acc just b4 Christmas, no reasons as to why they hadn't been taking payments. They gave me 1mth extension, I can't pay it. Due to chronic pain I use a bucket to wash or use wetones, I rarely use a heater,can hardly move with all the coats I need to stop shivering, even the dogs sleep with me to keep warm. I don't even cook n eat,can only afford my meds n dog food. So now I have to up fortnightly paymnts n try to get another extension...another bill comes in Feb. I just tried to join Spike,code didn't come thru. No Christmas again thanks to Origin. I'll be changing to another company after I pay this bill. It's suppose to be a happy time but that last bill seemed cold n uncaring. Costs r going up because of the "new look bills" n all the reward things. Why can't we have a choice n just have plain electricity? Even when I emailed u , I wasn't told why bills weren't sent , but there isn't an excuse is there. The more I write the angrier I get. I shldv taken a pic of bill but waste of time,like this feedback

For some reason every bill I get seems to be be higher and higher, even the predicted bill are crazy high, I don't use an air-conditioning or heater, I just don't understand the constant high bills.

Origin Energy is listed in an Australian Choice assessment of electricity providers as "one of the worst performers in the market I should have read their results before going to Origin. I was told their sales team - by phone - that I would get certain pricing if I switched to them. And surprise, surprise: I'm not getting the right pricing and the different contact I get every time I try to sort it out can't fix it, and now says it was never offered. Wtaf ...

Origin do final meter reading with inflated estimates and refuse to update them and say they will ring you back numerous times but they never do. They hope you get sick of things and just pay the inflated estimates. ACTEWAGL at least are more trustworthy in their business practices.

This solar sales company is joke. Their sales guys come out and tell you whatever and it's not even remotely accurate. Then you talk to Anthony and he gives you a bunch of BS as well. No one seems to know anything about solar at this company.

What a joke, if you have to phone Origin Lpg to order a cylinder you will wait to speak, wait for it ..... ...... an ENERGY EXPERT....... disgusting title, misleading to say the least. No folks that ENERGY EXPERT, has no science degree, no PHD, maybe lucky to have a grade 10 high school certificate. Hey ORIGIN wakeup nobody needs or do you provide an ENERGY EXPERT to order a gas cylinder.

Origin Energy left me utterly disappointed and betrayed. When I initially considered switching to another company due to their lackluster services and high rates, they suddenly came up with better offers to retain me as a customer. Feeling hopeful, I decided to give them a second chance, but it turned out to be a grave mistake. Just two weeks later, they sent an email announcing a significant rate increase, which completely shattered any trust I had left. Their deceptive behavior and broken promises revealed their true colors, leaving me feeling deceived and taken advantage of. I can't stress enough how unprofessional and unreliable Origin Energy has proven to be. Their actions speak louder than words, and they have shown a complete disregard for their customers' well-being and loyalty. I strongly advise against trusting Origin Energy with your energy needs. They are not worth the headaches and heartaches they bring. Seek out an energy provider with integrity and transparency, as you deserve a company that values your business and treats you with respect.

Absolutely terrible We had solar panels installed over three months ago and we keep getting told that they want between $450-$1500 dollars to install a isolation switch We have paid another $250 dollars to the solar company to install a another switch How come origin are now charging for a change over to a smart meter before you had solar panels and now they do This needs to be told to the public via the media We have every intention of relaying this information to This Day Tonight Disgusting Don’t touch this supplier

Corrupt! Would give 0 stars if possible. Long story short. I moved 8 months ago. I changed energy providers at the same time, and im still getting bills. Also just for reference, I gave them a months notice of the account closure and move out. So Origin "lost" my account credit and continued charging me even after having closed the account. I went to the ombudsman, who forced them to issue the refund (of several hundred) and close the account on the correct date. Now 8 months on, I don't have an account, login information nor do I live at that property. And yet! I am still getting sent bills, and because the account and I quote "is not available as it's on our old system" they won't do anything except transfer me from foreign (Singapore) "customer service rep" (more like customer harassment rep) to another. They refuse to assist me unless I provide all my information including my CURRENT address which has never been associated with them in addition to the entirety of my personal information (email, phone, date & place of birth, bank details, current address and details of any other residents). Bottom line don't use Origin they are scammers and thieves.

Terrible systems and bill estimation. We are having to call Origin every quarter to reassess our bill as they cancel the in-person meter reads and way overestimate our energy/gas usage. Last quarter, our energy bill should have been $300 and we were charged over $1500 worth of usage. We are told every time to submit our own reads, however, the self-meter reads are continuously invalidated. This has happened since we opened an account with them 2 years ago. I would love to stay with them if this could be rectified, however, this occurs every time.

Wanted to give zero but no option . This company has become cheats !!! We have solar and our bill was $1000!!! Our bills never been this high ever !!! We also had no kitchen for one month!! As we pulled out our old one and getting a new one so we had literally no appliances for the whole month if not more . They tried to blame it on the appliances then when I told them we have none they tried to blame it on the cabinet makers drill ! He had battery one ! They even admitted it was extremely high than it’s ever been . We did the meter reading and apparently it’s correct which I’m not buying into . I will have to contact someone else about this as it’s robbery and not everyone can afford this as we barely can either . Amd solar only took off $100 , so bill would of been more . Will be changing companies and I think these people are trying to fill their scamming pockets while people struggle to pay their bills . I think if everyone didn’t pay their bills and make them go bust to see how it feels to scrape around to pay for something they hardly used . My Aunty her bill was $900 but they run their heater day and night and have no solar panels . This company is becoming a fraud ! Go elsewhere !

We put a online request to get a quote from Solar panels from Origin. Soon after the salesmen kept calling 2 to 3 times, MARTIN, JONNEY... all personal details and data was taken by JONNY. Later once the customer asked for a quote, JONNY hang up. These are cons of the earth just interested in just sales.... $$$$ not the customer... They lie, no team leader available ..just a bloody joke, abusing the government's solar panels rebates and incentives ...to scam the public....

My neighbour asked for electricity for his new house four days ago. His household includes an elderly woman a child and his wife has dyalisis at home. She absolutely need power on for medical reasons. Afree many calls nothing has been done . Should my friend's condition deteriorate Origin will be liable for its lack of duty of care.
