About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

Item was described as in stock, and I paid a premium for express post. This was done to ensure I received the item within 5 working days. I phoned on the Wednesday and was ensured it was arriving in the warehouse that afternoon(!) and would be dispatched. I phoned on the Friday and was informed it had not left the warehouse (I left on the Sunday on a 6 week trip to Cape York), and there would be no refund of the postage premium. I had to purchase additional water storage for the trip. Item arrived on the Tuesday. All around very poor service.

hi i my cargo net okay But when i was putting the batteries in one of the rubber torches the screw in top snapped off ,poor quality i have kept it ,any chance of getting another one to replace the craapy one ?Cheers Craig

we order snorkels for jeeps, we pay up at the time, then we wait for 3 or 4 weeks, we might as well get them direct from china ourseelves if you're not going to stock what you advertise.

Hi, I have bought a bit through OE and most times the order and delivery has been okay. But I must say it takes time from placing and paying for the order for it to be picked, packed and shipped compared to other suppliers. Recently I was sent a wrong part (a more expensive part) I called OE and told them and packed it up and posted it back. I was told my correct order would be sent out ASAP. It didn’t come I called again and got told that it will not be sent until the other one comes back. I told OE that was not what I was told and got told they would organise it straight away. They didn’t and waited until the other part arrived before sending the correct part out. This took over 2 weeks to get something I had ordered some time ago and that OE stuffed up and I honestly contacted them to let them know. The part I got was a much better version of what I ordered and over $100 more than my order. I could have just kept it and kept quiet…. Then I got stuffed around getting my correct order. As an example I ordered an item from another like type store on Tuesday this week and it arrived today from Sydney. Tracking was good and service was great. OE you need to pick up your game and get everyone on the same page RE customer service. I recently ordered something else through OE and it still hasn’t left their office yet days later…. Why??? Didsapointing.

I made an order and i was told there would be a delay, so i was told i would receive part of my order and then Nothing for three weeks ! So i contacted PayPal and received a refund ,say no more.

Good afternoon, I purchased the plastimo 100l water bladder on the 21/5/22 I contacted your company requesting a return of the item on the basis that it was not what I though it was. Given it was outside of the 30 days, I was unable to send it back and instead installed it. I later found that the bladder itself was leaking from the external outlet. As such, I am unable to use it. Once shipped back to you, could i please be reimbursed for the item, or have it upgraded to the next largest size? I am happy to pay the difference between the two. I'm extremely unhappy with my purchase of the caravan cover & the way it was detailed. I read it to be waterproof & only did I find out it wasn't was when I received it. I immediately asked for clear information on it & was told to send it back with insurance, postage ect. The hassle & cost alone was not worth it. When I explained I was unhappy with the way the cover was written up no mention of sorry or il look into it was mentioned. I was going to be a good customer buying lots as I have just brought a new van as are my friends. I no longer reccomend your company.

Product dispatch times are terrible. After finding out how long it would actually take for my order to even leave the store through two follow up phone calls,I wish I hadn't purchased it from outback equipment in the first place. After a third phone call I organized my order to be canceled and that I would be contacted in regards to finalizing the cancelation. No phone call .... and then you sent the order anyway. Poor form indeed. Very unlikely I'll be purchasing through you guys again. It's a real pity... you seem to have some good deals.

I was not completely happy with the product I have the same campervan displayed in your advertisements a Mercedes The length selected after talking to your emplyee was ok but the cover was far too wide and high by about 1 metre on each side. I am not confident in buying your products online and will not recommend my camping friends to use your site Coincidently I found the same product at Aldi for under $100 after I got your delivery

Delivery of two items literally took months! Communication from sales team was good, but still took longer to arrive than the date I was given. What I didnt like was that the items that I purchased were still being sold with no mention of delays well after I was informed of delays. Not great. Items eventually arrived well packaged and undamaged.

Was very disappointed with time it took for delivery (3&1/2 weeks from when ordered) would not have wanted to need it urgently.

Service quick and effective - Both items ordered received in good time even with delays. Issue was that both items not what was expected due to website ambiguity. Picture did not match item for one and sizing was unclear for the other.

Took almost 4 weeks from ordering before it even got dispatched considering I only I only ordered 2 items thought it would be quicker

I ordered some gear online, went a week with no confirmation rang you up the sales person said it was out of stock and not sure when it’s coming, so got a full refund as we are traveling . The problem is the online let me order it but was out of stock, system should no have do the order , so I’m disappointed

Guys I drove up from Geelong to pick all my equipment that I’d ordered weeks before made phone calls an emails to confirm everything was there for collection you staff on 3 occasions confirmed it was…. and guess what it wasn’t. You arranged for me to travel 20 klms away to collect the Aircond, the sink was sorry unavailable. On my drive back to Perth I went on line to find a sink, your site came up as having one…. My mistake I trusted your company and purchased it was dispatched 6/5 arrived in perth 29/5. The dispatch company you used when I chased where my parcel was the help number in Philippines Fiji or wherever help number was were rude and zero help. Honestly you need to lift you game I will not be using your company again. Regards David

Slowest delivery ever. Told by operator would be shipped Thursday prior to Easter, didn't get shipped for another whole week, needless to say it didn't arrive in time for our trip, should of bought elsewhere and would have if they'd been honest

Product fine. Dispatch took nearly 2 weeks for a small item which was going from Brisbane to Sunshine Coast. Wasn't a postage issue , it was a dispatch issue. Not particularly impressed.
