About Outback Equipment:

Outback Equipment was born from a couple of mates with a big idea and an even bigger love for the outdoors. What started in the back of a garage quickly moved to a warehouse corner and now, over 10 years later, we’re running our own full-scale warehouse and showroom storefront in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

We kicked off with a fascination for light bars, but it didn’t take long to realise there was a lot more gear to get excited about. Outback Equipment has since grown into one of the largest online ranges of 4x4, camping, marine, and caravanning accessories in Australia. Driven by our customers’ passion for exploring the great outdoors, we’ve expanded our space, our range, and our mission.

I ordered a replacement CruiseMaster D035 Boxed Dust Cap in early January. After some weeks and no notification from Outback I called them and waited 45mins for them to answer the call. Finally 2 weeks later I got my order, it was the wrong one. No one in the dispatch department checked to see it was the right part. Finally in late February I finally got the correct order. Extremely poor service and very poor customer service

Delivery is too late. I even cancelled it because it took more than 3 months. The price was cheaper than other sites.

I placed an order 15th Jan whcih I realise is likely a busy time, but when I hadn't heard anything at all, not even a picking noticed, by 22nd I reached out via email. The response came on the 24th that my order had been dispatched. Unfortunately when it arrived, a week later, it was incorrect. I had ordered a dash mat and throttle controller, but I received floor mats. As soon as I identified the error I notified Outback and they were quick to reply, apparently the throttle controller was not in stock and I would need to send photos of the item received to process the return. At this stage it was nearly three weeks after my order and the first time I was made aware of any stock issues. I re-laid this to the support person who was very kind and helpful and acknowledged my frustration, so I do appreciate that. There was some back and forth getting the return sorted and I had to send a photo of the return post receipt before my items would be sent, when I sent the photo I enquired again regarding stock and was told it should arrive soon. The following day, still not having an ETA on the controller I called to request a refund which was accepted and processed within 5 days. Overall the experience was very frustrating and the communications around the original order were effectively non-existent, however the support staff I dealt with (Dakota) was pleasant and understanding and was able to process things quickly so I would consider that part a good experience. If it had been identified that the items I was ordering could be low in stock or there might be a delay it would have greatly improved my experience.

A victorian resident here and over the last 2 years I've purchased a number of items from this company, some of them large and expensive. They have been excellent in comunicating with me and always had best item pricing. Turn around from ordering to delivery has always been very fast. I'll continue to support this company and recommend them highly.

Very bad on order info. Worst we have had. Back order no notification. 3 different dispatch dates. Differing information on order status. Instock, in store, coming from supplier. Very frustrating system for customer.

Ordered 17 jan it’s now 26 feb still waiting on my delivery have made 4 phone calls now been told 4 times they will get back to me still waiting for the call not good enough your customer service is zero as far as I’m concerned

I ordered a trolling motor online - it was the best price I could find. Within a week I got a notification from the courier that the item was onboard for delivery. Unfortunately, I hadn't included a unit number with my shipping address. The courier was not able to sort that out and, through the notification link, advised me to contact their Customer Support staff. That's when the wheels fell off. It took four weeks to resolve a missing unit number but I now have the trolling motor and everything is sweet. I'm happy that Outback Equipment eventually made it happen. However, during those four weeks it was quite frustrating to only ever get "we're waiting to hear from the courier". So, the price was good, I got the item (just before I had to pull the pin) and OE made it happen. They could do better keeping their customers updated on delays, but overall it was OK. Thanks particuarly to Dakota for getting it sorted.

I bought some much needed towing equipment that meant our van now tows much safer and OBE's prices and range meant that we could buy it all in one place and the price was one of the best when it all came down to it. Quality products and sold by people who know what the public want and need. Will always head back to check here first and rarely disappointed!

If there was a way to provide ZERO stars, I would. That is how terrible my experience was. Not only did I not receive the product I purchased, Outback Equipment refused to issue a refund or ship the item out again. Will never use this company again.
