Do not use hold plot and Home Move scheme. Serious and unrealistic pressure to get a an offer on property by deadline of 4 weeks during lock down. They never arranged 3 estate agents as per agreement. Never communicated with estate agent regularly as set out in terms and conditions or even with customer. Their response was "we are still working" during this current lock down. MY RESPONSE IS SO AM I AND SO IS MY HUSBAND AS A KEY WORKER. All customers are seen as below their level. Advice would be is if would like a new home go with another home builder for better quality and customer service.

This feedback is directly related to Abigail and her colleague at Hampton Gardens in Peterborough. They do not answer phone calls, Abi was busier cleaning crumbs off her face than deal with us with any interest. No response to our emails including email with offer for The Rufford. No follow up or any response to future phone calls. The worst business I ever had no pleasure of dealing with. We’re now paying more money for a property just to not go with Persimmon. Absolutely disgusting service and I feel embarrassed for you.

If you want to try to buy a persimmon home and you have the cash ..... don't bother. They don't appear to want to sell you one of their properties. I tried numerous times to get a sales appointment but they ignored me! Clearly their meeting their sales targets so easily at Cardea in Peterborough they not interested in cash buyers. Good luck to them!!!! - I've taken my business elsewhere.

It is unfortunate that Persimmon can get away with such poor work with the New build in Copperfield Estate, Truro. Barely 2 years and a couple of months after moving into the house, I noticed water escape which ruined the walls. It was investigated by a Plumber who identified that the leak was from a pipe that had a nail screwed into it during the original building. After several failed attempts to reach Customer service, I finally got through to Persimmon and was rudely told that my warranty had run out a couple of months ago and they couldn't do anything about the house. The customer service personnel wouldn't even agree to provide me with an email or address to make an official complaint. I will be seeking compensation with every legal avenue available to me. I have checked around and also noticed so many complaints in the same estate.

It is the worst house we have ever brought. They could'nt care less about any problems you have. We had leaks through the ceilings,on the day we were given the keys workman were still in our hose painting. They are currently throwing up the last fase of houses, and if i had seen the way they build i would never had brought. I have watched from my lounge window workman urinating over house materals used to build the houses. All paint work goes yellow i just a few months. And do not pay for any up grades as the charge 3 times more then if you go direct to the companys they use.

Had a viewing at Ashworth place Exeter, the lady I think was called nikita, was very informative and very knowledgeable, really helped us being first time buyers.

I enquires into Ashworth place in Exeter with my partner, and was simply met by a rude and abrupt lady called Nikeeta. Her attitude towards us was disgusting, making comments about what she thinks we can afford and that we “look like a couple who tries to save as much money on a deal as possible”. I took that as being called cheap. I simply asked what deals were available. I didn’t wish to continue and instead went down the road to another provider. Awful experience.

Possibly the worst housing company in the UK. They move you into brand new homes which are unfinished and built poorly. We had a gas leak for a year which was not picked up on because it was not properly checked before we moved in (the gasman advised that the leak was due to a pipe being built incorrectly which would have been there from the day we moved in). We then were left with holes in our ceiling and walls to try and find this leak, they struggled to find it due there gas meter reading so high that they could not pin point exactly where the leak was coming from. It has been a year since this happened now and they STILL have not came and fixed the holes which we have reported multiple times. We also have a leak in our bath, the plumbers came out and took the casing off to reveal all the damp underneath it and our bathroom floor is rising due to this. This was reported months ago and it still isn't resolved. My partner and i have had to use ridiculous amounts of holiday to fix issues and on some days we would be at home waiting and they would have no record or anyone coming out to us (it is ran by incompetent people who cant even book you in properly or let you know if no one is available). If we had to do this again then we would have never moved into this property, it has been problem after problem and two years on we still feel like we are living in a half complete house. There has been many other minor issues but these two are the main ones (when we moved in we had no hot water for weeks for example). I advise people to stay well clear of these people, we are going to look into contacting watchdog or getting legal advice to stop anyone else going through what we have gone through. My Wife works for the NHS and the amount of stress this has caused us both is disgusting.

We purchased a Persimmon Homes Leasehold property in August 2018. Eight months later we discovered that Persimmon had sold EIGHT properties that immediately surround ours to an investment company who have converted all of them to be used for HMO purposes with a capacity of 44 individual people (namely students in our area). According to our legal documents regarding restrictive covenants, all properties are to be used as ‘Single Private Dwelling’ only. We complained to Persimmon and had meetings/conversations/emails with the MD. However, 15 months later the breaches have not been enforced as Persimmon are refusing to do so. Bear in mind too, that FOUR of the houses have had their garages converted to enable x6 bedrooms throughout the 'Croft' house and this investor has not sought or been granted permission to do this or to change the use (we have this in black & white from said MD along with numerous other emails admitting the breach/es). Im sure anyone that has actually paid £250 to ask permission to alter their properties won’t be too pleased when they discover this! We did not purchase our new property to live on a student campus (with the associated mess/noise/and parking issues thanks to removing the garages) and thought we were protected by the leasehold terms which of course Persimmon Homes themselves have set in place! It would appear that if you are in a position to purchase multiple properties from PH, you are exempt from the legalities that bind the rest of us… This is a very long story cut short…..

I’m a first time buyer and I feel persimmon took advantage of that. I was lied to during the process of buying the property. So now finding out, and there’s ‘nothing they can do’ course not ! Also assistant site manger (lee) was a nightmare ! Constantly waiting around for him never to turn up. I have crazy amount of ‘snagging’ I appreciate you get snagging in any new builds but I feel there was ridiculous amount. Trying to put a complaint in about the assistant site Manager was a waste of time. Email after email for nothing to be done. Even going to the head of sales (joan) who was extremely unprofessional and rude on the phone. How she got the job, I have no idea. Extremely disappointed, buying my first home is meant to be exiting and persimmon have completely ruined the whole experience. WILL NEVER BUY FROM PERSIMMON AGAIN. PLEASE STAY AWAY. Speaking to other people and finding out a lot of people are having the same problem with them, wish I found this out sooner.

Persimmon Homes Nottingham customer care is rude and useless to say the least. Our snagging list was so high, now we are out of the warranty period they are refusing to complete work on issues that were reported 2 years ago. Every single tap in our house leaks, we have a massive split in the wall where they fitted a radiator incorrectly and moved it without fixing it, clearly in the hope we wouldn't notice. The site manager genuinely referred to our house as Fawlty Towers. My advice would be to not buy from this builder.

If you are Part Exchanging with Persimmons Homes one piece of advice I would give you is to demand that Persimmons carry out the Homebuyers Survey simultaneously with the Estate agents valuations before you pay any Reservation fee or sign the part exchange contact. If you read our experience as below all will come clear: My wife and I signed up to a home buyers part exchange scheme with Persimmon Homes in September 2019. The agreement was for us to exchange our house for an agreed sum and buy a house from Persimmons for an agreed sum. We had valuations carried out by local estate agents as the first steps and were given a Buyer’s Exchange of Contracts Checklist to work through. We began by applying for a mortgage with their recommended mortgage brokers, instructed their recommend conveyancing solicitors and paid a £300 commitment fee, arranged and paid for gas and electricity reports. All was going well until we had The Home Buyers Survey carried out in November. After the surveyor carried out the survey, he informed me that there were some minor issues but wouldn’t go into specifics. I phoned Persimmon several times after the survey and emailed the sales office to get the results from it. 2 weeks past and we assumed that the Survey had passed then in mid November I received a phone call from Persimmons to say that issues had been found and they wanted 2 further surveys; Wood and Timber and Structural Survey. Both surveys found embellished issues with the house and subsequently Persimmon homes would not honour the part exchange. Section 2 of the part exchange contact we signed stipulated that if defects were found on the house we were selling we would be given the option to rectify these at our own costs, which we agreed to do but Persimmons were not interested when we approached them about this. We were eventually refunded £250 from the £500 reservation fee in February 2020 after many phone calls, however we believe that we should have been refunded the remaining £250 as we had the reservation cancelled on us by Persimmons opposed to us changing our minds and cancelling on our own free will. We also paid for the optional extra of an outside tap on the new build that cost us £95 and the £600 we paid to Ison Harrison Solicitors for the conveyancing. All in all Persimmons have left us £945 out of pocket. We requested a full refund for all our costs incurred as the reasons for Persimmons cancelling were beyond our control but Persimmons refused saying they had the right to pull out and are not under any obligation to refund us. Basically, Persimmons has acted like an unscrupulous private seller in doing this. We were out of pocket for simply following the instructions given to us Buyer’s Exchange of Contracts Checklist and we did everything in the order the form that was given to us when we signed the contract. The whole process of the part exchange caused us a great deal of stress and anxiety. It wasn’t as it was sold to us in the showroom as an easy stress-free process I the showroom. In fact it was nightmare from start to finish and we were given lots of misleading information. In our opinion If the house, we were selling was going to be potentially such an issue for Persimmons they should have had the survey carried out at the same time as the estate agents valuation to save us from this hassle and wasting our money and not so far into the process as per my opening paragraph. Anyone part exchanging needs to consider potential issues you may have along the way as from our experience you will be offered no support. They even wanted us to pay for the 2 additional surveys out of our own pocket but we refused. If Persimmons can find an excuse to pull out they will do. For example if not the survey it could be the electrical report etc. The part exchange contract is not worth the paper it is written on as the final section states that Persimmons have the right cancel or withdraw from the scheme at anytime. There is no law that can compel Persimmons to refund you your money if they decide to pull out as home buying and selling are not covered by general consumer law and Persimmons take full advantage of the lack of protection. If for example you book a holiday and the holiday firm cancels then you quite rightly expect a full refund and the travel firm is breaching consumer law if it refuses. Home buyers from large multinational house builders should be offered this same protection. If after reading this you still decide you want to part exchange with them ask the person in the showroom what will happen if things go wrong and use my experience as a hypothetical example. Ask them if you will get your fees back, ask them if they will carry out the Homebuyers survey as the first step rather than towards the end and if not why not? Don’t let them rip you off like they ripped us off.

As a former employee I would say avoid working for the company. They suggest that they are a company who care for employees however from experience I can say that this is not the case I am afraid.

If I could give zero stars I would If I could give zero stars I would. If you do consider to buy one of their homes please check everything is up to standard including paintwork as they do not do undercoat or prime the wood. Check also what your land is because they will mislead you and then years down it will come and kick you in the backside. Customer service is diabolical and most that aren't helpful. A company that looks for shortcuts in their build and get ready for the clients. So watch out! Would not recommend at all.
