“Frankly, I agree with some of the negative comments that have been made here by other trainees. I am currently doing a Pitman Office Skills Diploma course. My local training centre was in Canterbury. Unfortunately the office recently been closed . I received no information that the centre had been closed. I now have to go to the one in Maidstone, which means for me a much longer train journey to get there. Luckly, most of my course i can do online and even the exams too can be done remotely. The course itself iis quite comprehensive and challenging but the staff at the Canterbury centre were very helpful. It is quite expensive my course having paid thousands for it. It does feel at times that Pitman"s Training is just a money making enterprise. That the course fees are too high for the actual training you do get. Though overal I do recommend Pitman Training to anybody who wants a new career.”

“In 2021 I was made redundant from a position I had held for almost thirty years. At this point, I was considering a career change and in early 2022 Career Wales informed me of the REACT scheme. I was given a number of training providers to consider. I researched these and called their relevant offices. The call to Pitman Office in Cardiff was particularly memorable as I spoke to a very helpful lady called Hazia. She was very friendly and displayed genuine interest whilst listening to what training I wanted to undertake and discussed the courses that would help me achieve my goals. This was not my experience with the other training providers and I immediately decided to learn with Pitman even though they were the furthest away of all the training providers I contacted. I chose to enroll on ICDL, Book-Keeping Transactions & Controls 1, and Sage 50 accounts. I was able to complete a large part of the required study at home. The courses were interesting and well set out with the opportunity to take a practice test before the validation test was attempted. For the parts of the training that required I attend the center in Cardiff, I was always made very welcome by the team and also had a magnificent view of Cardiff Castle. Here I met Phil the Centre Manager who was my main support throughout my time with Pitman Cardiff. He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, kind, and always happy to help. The team at Pitman Cardiff are fantastic. Their positivity gives the center a great energy and I honestly cannot recommend them all highly enough. So good was my experience it gave me a thirst for knowledge and the courage to enroll on a degree course.”

“Having been made redundant from my job at a local newspaper in September 2020 as a result of COVID, I contacted React Wales, who suggested I have a look at Pitman courses. I had a look at what they offered, and settled on 'Working in the Legal Environment' and 'Office Skills' (Microsoft Word refresher course) to further enhance my chances of finding future employment. I live in Pembrokeshire, and the closest branch to me is Swansea. I travelled up there on the first day by train as I don't drive. Nichola and David made me feel very welcome and we discussed in full what I needed and they agreed the way forwards was the courses I had chosen. Due to the distance I would have to travel each day, the limited time I'd have in the office (due to limitations on train times) and the expense, PLUS with another lockdown looming, Nichola and David were happy for me to continue the courses at home via online. The courses were downloaded to my computer and I could spend each day going through them. The support I received was fantastic, if there was a problem, Nichola or David were there at the end of the phone to help me through. I was able to complete the tests at home too. The only course I had to go back to the office for was the Audio Typing course, which I have now done, since relaxation in the lockdown rules. The office is ideally situated in the centre of Swansea, and virtually right outside the train station doors which makes it ideal for me as I have mobility issues. I have passed all the Modules so far, and am awaiting the results of my Audio Typing. I would thoroughly recommend anyone who has been made redundant in Wales, to contact React for funding and to look at the Pitman courses. Such a wide variety to choose from, excellent support all around and the courses are clear and straightforward.”

“I just completed an excel course with Pitman Cantrbury, kent. It was great. I learned so many things that will make my life easier. Support was great, by email on the phone, I always had someone to help me. I hope I will be able to enroll myself to the Expert Excel soon! Thank you”

“The HR Essentials course at Pitman Training Worcester was just what I needed during a change of career direction. They were helpful throughout. The flexibility of being able to study at home and at the centre was a great mix for me and I feel I gained a lot.”

“I have just completed the Payroll Principles and Sage Payroll courses with Pitman Greenwich and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The staff are so helpful, especially Patricia, and the course material was both easy to navigate and understand. Both exams were pitched at the right level as well. These courses are distance learning and with Covid 19 it also meant that I could not attend the centre, but this did not mean that I felt unsupported at any time. If you are looking for Payroll Courses then look no further.”

“I would highly recommend pitman training if you are looking to further your skills. All of the staff were so helpful throughout my time studying. Nikki is amazing if you need any support and Dean is great at motivating you throughout. The Ipswich team have been so great during this difficult time, the staff are always there to answer any questions and organise your exams at home. It’s been a pleasure studying with Pitman’s Ipswich and I am leaving with many new skills and confidence in myself.”

“I never took a remote training before but i will highly recommend Pitman training (Devon and Cornwall). My instructors Samantha and Magdalena really helped me through the duration of the course. They were ever ready to make my journey smooth and as a result i could pass my HR Diploma without any problems. Thank you Sam and Magdalena for guiding me in this journey.”

“2019 I decided to update and upgrade myself as I was planning to go back to work and want my CV to do the talking. I searched different online courses but Pitman training stood out. I book an appointment and met Sally at the Canterbury centre she was so warm and welcoming talk me thru different options but want me to go for what I want. Less than a year after I have Diploma in Administrative Assistant. It is so convenient as you can study anywhere at your own time. It was money well spent. All the staff at Canterbury and Maidstone centre are so good and are always checking on you to know how you are doing with your course. Trust me you won’t regret it. Thank you Sally, Lucy, Tracie and Fern.”
