“My sisters are currently dealing with this company with regards to the sale of my sadly deceased Mother's house, which was left in trust to the three of us. As if dealing with bereavement, then clearing the house isn't enough, we are now dealing with the total incompetence of this bunch of clowns! Insensitive, incompetent, farcial... the list goes on.”
“Do not use. We were recommended to them via PurpleBricks, it's been over 4 months since agreeing our sale and they are still dealing with initial enquires with the buyers solicitors.
I am told conflicting stories from various staff as to whether enquiries have or haven't been dealt with and on multiple occasions, we have been lied to regarding this.
It's been 34 days since we logged a complaint, which hasn't been dealt with or even followed up with a call.
Awful service”
“Absolutely terrible service. 21weeks 5 days for house sale. Had to chase to get any progress, with telephone calls rarely able to speak to conveyancer. Emails take an age to get answers that's if you get any at all. Online eway system that doesn't always work. 2 days before completion, and after exchange of contracts asking for information sent weeks ago. Then less than 12 hours to completion yet more information required! Financial statement not updated until after completion, with extra charges on it not told about before! Will never use again. I think they get most customer via estate agents recommendations (Hunters in this case for a commision). Problems to many to mention, excuses sorry it's been manic! Not good enough you have been warned don't use. They might if they can be bothered, reply to this survey with the standard answers "sorry things didn't work out well please contact us to discuss" or similar reply. Whats the point they don't care or they would react before complaints come in? Very stressful sale. Read previous reviews by others and my problems were the same as those! The number of people involved is probably one of the problems over 25 names on my sale not the 1 dedicated conveyancer promised!”
“Simply the worst property/ conveyancing solicitors around, shame on estate agents recommending them for your commission payments.
They do not give you a dedicated solicitor as advertised, will not communicate in a timely manner, read reviews and see how many sales, purchases lost, extra costs, unprofessional the list goes on and on.
PLEASE READ REVIEWS - GO TO A PROPER SOLICITOR, SAVE YOURSELF TIME, MONEY, STRESS & HEARTACHE”
“This conveyancing company was recommended by the estate agents and they have been made aware of our awful experience with them.
I don't even want to remember the details, but it was a long and painful process, ALL documents had to be re-issued, re-signed, re-witnessed and re-returned and there was never an adequate explanation for any of the incompetence. The final bill was much higher than the initial indication because, of course, extras can be added in, and they weren't cheap.
Communicating with them is especially difficult. They are never available if you phone, sometimes you may get a message passed to them and a call returned but that's never certain.
In the end, I got all the stress for the whole period of the transaction, there was no certainty in the process ahead throughout the transaction and it was expensive.
I hope never to have to deal with any company like that again.”
“I would not recommend this shoddy, third-rate outfit to my worst enemy. They came by recommendation of Purplebricks who will also be hearing from me. From the outset, they were virtually impossible to reach and rarely returned calls. My first conveyancer was downright rude on a number of occasions and didn’t pick up on basic details that I, as a layman did just by reading documents. Their inaction cost me a purchase, having taken NINE MONTHS to process basic paperwork. I completed on a sale with them in mid-June 2021 but they kept the proceeds for nearly a further two weeks, choosing to call me on the morning of my move when knee deep in boxes to tell me there was an “issue” with my account number. It took THIRTY TWO ignored emails and the threat of legal action before they finally paid me. Take my advice and use a reputable firm of local solicitors. You may pay more but it’s worth every penny for peace of mind. Premier Property Lawyers should be sued under the Trades Description Act: there’s nothing premier about them at all.”
“PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
The service is received from Premier Property Lawyers was beyond atrocious.
I have not know a company to be so incompetent. From start to finish the service was appalling
1. It was almost impossible to speak to my solicitor. Despite trying at various times I could never get through to the solicitor. The solicitor would hardly reply to emails, wouldn’t return my calls.
2. The contracts were delayed for several weeks without explanation
3. Communication was extremely poor, I was never kept updated on the progress and I would have to constantly chase things up
4. When my solicitor was off work, I was not informed of this nor did anyone else take up the work load.
You either have an incapable team or there is a lack of management. Either way you will not be receiving my business again.”
“The only thing premier is the name! Appointment calls not kept, no contact or updates, can't even get a refund now I have sacked them and employed another solicitor. What a bunch of Muppets!”
“DO NOT USE! We are a nightmare scenario. We may just as well have done the work ourselves. No one calls back...information incorrect...wrong bank account details....they even closed our file down halfway through our sale and it was only by accident we found out!!! We are supposed to complete this week and they have issued wrong bank account details! Can't tell anyone...no contact. They are a bunch of clowns...NEVER EVER USE THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE! Trust me it will age you and you will not believe the extent of utter incompetence!”
“My case was submitted on 20.05.2021. They stated to process my case after my rigorous emails and phone calls. That too wasted 10 days. Now they are telling they can't finish it by the stamp duty deadline. No proper communication.avoid!!!”
“We heard of this company only recently because they are acting on behalf of a vendor lower down the chain. We all agreed a moving date a month ago but with two days left date and still no sign of an exchange date we hear that PPL have 'overlooked' some council enquiries. Having booked removal companies, etc. we all stand to lose thousands of pounds due the the ineptitude of this company - and that's before taking the stamp duty holiday into account. I don't understand why such companies are allowed to continue to trade.”
“Absolutely hopeless. Disorganised, poor communication and at times plain dishonesty. Our buyer pulled out a month ago and we are still waiting for PPL to inform us. Phone calls and e-mails not returned for weeks on end, forms that were supposedly checked sent back months later for corrections and the leasehold documents that we had paid a fee to release were never forwarded on.
Very disappointing and a level of stress I wouldn't wish on anyone.”
“Do not use them! There delays cost us £10,000+. We only 3 people in our chain, all freehold properties and they have still managed to make all involved miss the stamp duty deadline (completion by June 30th). Even though they were instructed at the beginning of April!
They did nothing with the case for month and half after being instructed then their search processes and enquiries were shambolic. Asking for non industry standard fee to speed up the process. They were also obstructive when dealing with the other parties.
After speaking to some accredited property solicitors it seems they have a bad reputation within the industry and no one ever uses them twice. As most get stung the 1st time.
If anyone in your chain uses them it could compromise the whole thing. Beware!”
“**** Update the process gets no better...my house was sold over a week ago and have not received the money for the sale of my property , or been able to get hold of anyone by phone or email.....so I have no house or money. This is appalling ***
Like the majority of larger companies they have an online portal where you complete your forms online and upload your documents, which is easy enough.
But that doesn't then stop you getting emails and phone calls saying you have not completed your forms...and you have x number of outstanding tasks, even though you have completed everything..not a great start.
The second is don't expect to speak to anyone when you try and call them, and don't expect a phone call back either. If you are lucky enough to get through to someone the answer will be, sorry you will need to speak to your representative to answer that question and guess what they never answer!
Premier Property Lawyers have added stress into selling a property, due to poor communications.
Used as part of Purple Bricks, who were great.
Advice for Purple Bricks, get rid of Premier Property Lawyers and for anyone else , I would highly recommend you do not choose Premier Property Lawyers”
“Absolutely useless. Shocking in fact. I waited 5 weeks thinking that things were moving, when in fact they had done absolutely nothing at all! I’ve made endless calls only to be given misinformation and fobbed off with false times; it’s always the same answer ‘it could take another month’ this has been going on for 3 months and I’m still no nearer, in fact I’ve only just been told that I need to request permission to live at my chosen property when, obviously that should have been done 3 months ago. If they decline my request now I’ve wasted mine and my buyer’s time. BEWARE they don’t know what they’re doing and they don’t care about the customer!”
“They keep asking me for documents they have already returned to me by recoded delivery. The last phone call I had they said completion would take between 17 and 34 weeks Wtf?”
“This company has been recommended by Purple Bricks to represent the buyer in the sale of my partner’s property. We are moving in together and are currently on the verge of losing our purchase which is ready for completion but we can’t proceed until this sale is complete first. My partner has sent all final requested documentation through a week ago and asked for a completion date. This company is now ignoring calls and emails from my partner’s conveyancer, from Purple Bricks, and also from their client who is also desperate to complete on this purchase. All we are waiting for is a date to be agreed, but they seem to have disappeared into thin air, and the sellers of the property we are supposed to be purchasing are getting edgy because we can’t give them a date. If you’re looking for a conveyancer who actually works for their money, then I’d avoid these at all costs!!”
“Avoid at all costs.
I have just completed on the sale of our house and the purchase of our new house and I can honestly say that dealing with Premier Property Lawyers has made it the most stressful process of my life.
Initially, our conveyancer explained that things would take longer than normal due to the COVID pandemic, this I understand and have no issue with, but he seemed disinterested from the outset and was very negative about getting anything done quickly. We went with them anyway due to the purple bricks option to postpone their payment until after sale if you used Premier.
Throughout the process, we started to notice that things didn’t quite seem right. We were sending numerous emails that weren’t being replied to, if we emailed through two or three questions then on the times he did reply he would only reply to the first question, ignoring the rest. This led to more emails being sent and us getting frustrated.
This carried on throughout the whole process, it was a horrible, stressful process from start to finish.
We also found that mistakes were made all the way through, some of these only came to light towards the end causing a delay in exchange. A few of these mistakes are as follows;
My partner was a first time buyer and had a LISA, I was not and was selling my first house so couldn’t have a LIsA. We told our conveyancer about this right at the start, he did nothing about sorting it. We had to contact the LISA company and start the process of releasing the funds. In the end, we found out that our conveyancer hadn’t even sent off the paperwork and had ignored their emails months ago. We found this out three days before were hoping to complete, leading to some very stressful phone calls and a mad rush to try and get the funds released on time.
Time and time again I was asked to complete a LISA declaration, the first line of which states “I confirm I am a first time buyer.” Clearly I was not but my conveyancer couldn’t understand that It wasn’t my account...
When our contracts first came through, the contracts for the new house were in one name instead of both. When we rang to see what had happened we were told we must had done the starter forms wrong, this wasn’t the case and the mistake was solely on their part. We never received any apology. The lady we spoke to on this occasion (our conveyancer was off on leave without mentioning it to us) was very rude and dismissive saying this must be our fault without even looking at the file.
Enquiries that were sent to our vendors took 6 and a half weeks to come back, and these were simple enquiries. Whilst I appreciate this isn’t our solicitors fault, he only ever chased up the enquiries when we asked him to, never did he email them off his own back.
In the end, I was in contact with my buyers, and the estate agents that we were buying from. When my solicitor would contact me to say “we are still waiting their replies” I felt like I was giving him more of an update as to what was happening! Our estate agents were a god send in putting pressure on their solicitors and I genuinely feel that if it was left to our solicitor, then god knows when we would have moved.
Thankful, our solicitor went off a week before we eventually completed and a female called Sabine took over. She was extremely helpful and apologetic for everything that happened, she seemed to genuinely care and she really did get us over the finish line. If we had had her from the outset I feel like this would have been a very different review.
In the end, we moved in. But this was around 6 weeks later than we wanted. We only found out on the Friday that we were moving on the Monday. Premier were a nightmare to deal with, at times we were ready to pull out because we just didn’t want the stress.
I will never use Premier Property Lawyers again, they were rude, horrendous customer service and sloppy work. There are so many better firms out there and I would strongly advise you to keep on searching.”
