About Purplebricks:

The modern and innovative answer to an estate agents, we’re the revolution that the property market needed. Here at Purplebricks, we’re still ‘proper’ estate agents, we just do things a little differently to benefit our customers. We work longer, more flexible hours, we don’t charge commission and we let you take control as much or as little as you want. Our customers can’t get enough of this new way of selling, buying and renting property and praise the way we work after battling with the cons of traditional estate agents for too long. We know the world of property can be stressful, so all we’ve done is made it simple with great customer service and digital access to all the details and paperwork you need, 24 hours a day. Don’t just take our word for it as thousands of people each month leaving purplebricks reviews can’t be wrong. Real people, the usual processes, just done in a more efficient way, that’s how we work at Purplebricks.

My house has been on the market with them a for 5 months, not had many viewings. I asked what could we do to market the property more, they suggested removing it from the market for a few weeks and putting back on !!!!! what good will that do ??? and I was right absolutely nothing. I was dealing with one person then they left and the the next person has left. I would like to go with an other agent but apparently I have to pay £895.00 to leave Purple Bricks !!! Not happy

Awful from almost start to never finishing!!! Agreed sale of house in August and today 8th October receive phone call to say the buyer has pulled out, no reason given. Then I get an email to say that I have pulled out of the sale and the buyer has been notified. So angry and disgusted at the lack of accuracy over anything. We now cant get to the bottom of who called us even though their end it will show a record of someone changing the sale from sold to withdrawn. DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE!!!! I almost forgot trying to actually speak to someone is also impossible!!!!

Purple Bricks are scammers. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT go to Purple Bricks. They are good at talking a good game but they do not deliver. I have had property managers changed on me 3 times in 6 months, the tenant paid 2 months rent and stopped paying until she eventually left owing me 3 months rent. When I requested for the tenant deposit, Purple Bricks deducted 3 months management fees from that!!!! Saying they managed the property even when she wasnt paying rent. So I lost £1200 but PB still deducted 3 months of management fees. When I asked how will they recover my lost rent, they said she's vacated the property so i should go to small claims court. Customer service 2 out of 10. management 1 out of 10. Totally unbelievable. Scammers!!

Don’t even deserve one star. Pay for a fully managed package for renting my property, they do nothing and keep taking more and more money off my rental income for what?!! Twice my Tennants have threatened to leave due to issues at the house not being corrected. And I don’t blame them! Purplebricks do not respond to emails or calls, there’s been a threat to the Tennants safety and the only way I’ve known about it is from the neighbours. I’ve had to make numerous trips to Scotland to get contractors and sort things out. Would never use them again, nothing but false advertisement.

Once the for sale sign is up they show no interest. Thete is no motivation to sell your house as they get the same money sold or not. If I could give zero I would. Dont waste your time and money

Purple Bricks were instructed to sell my father's home. This was in February of 2019 and my father was alive. The first visit by the local agent went well, she came and inspected the property and later took the photos. The add ran and was fairly successful in attracting viewers. Then she left. Handed all her case files to her manager and walked. I had a call to inform me of this, then nothing. Nada, zilch. I had no support, contact or anything from pb. The new agent never even checked in. Then, I speak to the solicitors they ask you to use. Newbold. They told me that pb had demanded and pestered the firm for my details within days of father's passing on June 24th. Even though Newbold are not LEGALLY ALLOWED TO GIVE MY DETAILS pb made a complain about the solicitors. So, even though I didn't yet have a probate certificate and the contract was between my father and them, I was to be contacted within days of his death to be asked for money for a house that hadn't sold yet. I (me, not pb or its fantom agent) sold the house. Negotiating in IKEA and had no help from pb in any way. Yet I was to be contacted at the worst time on my life for payment???? NO I'm going to shout from every roof top, high place and on any public system I can to get the message out, PB CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO OPERATE LIKE THIS. I want my money back. I want an apology and I want to know why they couldn't honour their own contract (payment due at completion of sale or after 10 months). I want to know why they expected solicitors to break the law to fulfil thier warped agenda and complain when stopped. I want to know why I wasn't supposed to be able to grieve over my dad because it didn't suit them. I want to know why I was not supported. I want my money back. USE PB AT YOUR PERIL PEOPLE.

Difficult to read their website. Get no reply from their head office. They lose interest when you pay up front. The sign was poorly put in our flower bed and then blew down. Took 5weeks to get it put up, and they put it back in flower bed, although they were told not to. Damaged several flowers. Never again. Changed agents, and sold within 1 month.

Wouldn't bother with this outfit. As others have said, once they have your money they lose all interest. It may be cheaper than proper Estate Agents, but you get what you pay for in this case. I'd rather pay an extra £700-£1000 and have a decent agent with proper customer service support. Our initial advert had lousy pictures (which had to be retaken), and we had to correct multiple spelling mistakes and errors in their write up - we ended up writing the advert for them!!!! We made a complaint that was being investigated, but never heard anything further. Basically, what you get for your money is advertising on the major house sale websites. Some may get better service, but it seems like a lottery dependent on who your agent is. We've since taken the property away from Purple Bricks, even though it meant taking a big financial hit. I'd say avoid like the plague, especially as they seem to remove negative reviews from other review sites - rather than improving their service. You might get lucky with them, but probably best to pay the extra initially and get a decent Agent.

We were trying to buy a property. Purple Bricks were so terrible we pulled out. Was impossible to get hold of anyone, messages on the portal were not even opened, had a survey done and tried to renegotiate with vendors - six weeks later we had zero progress. Couldn’t even get our builders into the property to give us quotes on the work. Ended up dealing with the area manager who was super rude. You’d never guess we were customers trying to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds. Awful!

PurpleBricks wrongly listed the nearest train station for our house as Garforth (2.8miles away), even though we live in Crossgates which has a station 0.1 miles away. PurpleBricks tried to blame 'the data coming from Rightmove', until we pointed out that Rightmove was listing this correctly. PurpleBricks said they'd fix the issue, but 4 weeks later it was still incorrect. They said they'd give us free premium listing, after 5 days they still hadn't. They said you'd look into what went wrong, but a week later still no response from the investigate. Pros: Purplebricks is cheap James our local expert was great Cons: Terrible customer service Inability to fix issues Puplebricks bad reputation puts off potential buyers

Absolute garbage, make sure if you do insist on using them you have everything in writing. I'm giving up with the Ombudsman after 18months because I just can't face time and money going to court - and this is what they thrive on. Clueless, took 8 months to answer a complaint (they did email that they were sorry it was over 15 days as set out in their T&C's) and threatened me with debt collectors on an invoice they had completely gotten wrong.

Purple bricks put myself and my family in actual danger. Ive been renting a house through them for the past 3 years and a few months back a hole started to show in the kitchen ceiling i reported it nothing got done and after time its gotten worse. The hole is now huge, the ceiling has cracks down it and every time you run water in the bathroom it leaks through from the bathroom straight through the hole in the kitchen. Never go through them. Just because its an agency it doesnt make them safe
