My last order was delivered to the wrong address, despite the correct information being entered on the website.

I have orders delivered to the channel isles and pay a £9 postage supplement. Because some of the ordered items weren't in stock, Rapid weren't going to send the majority of stocked items until the few remaining components came into stock. Most suppliers would send the stocked items immediately. If that is Rapids usual policy then at least they should contact/email the customer to let them know the components will be delayed and why. Rapid also do not send an email to confirm you order. You only hear back from them when the items are ready for shipment. More communication please Rapid........or should I say not-so-Rapid.

No problem with order but the sales department made the mistake of ignoring an email query that I took the trouble to send. This is disrespectful and bad manners so I have downgraded Rapid and will now use other sources first

I think where Rapid loses out to the likes of CPC and such is the min spend to get free uk delivery, where as others do online free delivery with minimal if no limits

I needed components to make a metronome so I went to Rapid electronics because I'd used them before and found their service very good. Unfortunately they did not stock all of the 4000 series CMOS logic ic's that I need, but what they did stock came promptly in the post.

i was very disappointed that the list price of the item i was buying was £5.57, but my overall bill was over £11. Postage and package for a small item was £3.99. i was also of the assumption that VAT was charged on the item only and not the item cost plus postage and packing.

Cat5 patch cables not as competitive as CPC plus CPC have no delivery charge regardless of order value but they didn't have the blind grommets you had in stock so on this occasion we purchased from Rapid.

I like the range of products and they are good value but I find it very difficult finding the things I want on the website and on a number of occasions, I have given up trying to find something because the web search is too difficult to use. It would be interesting to know what other customers think, but the problem for me is that you group things by manufacturer. I find it very inconvenient and frustrating to have to search for similar things listed under a number of different manufacturers. If I am looking for a transformer for a specific job, it doesnt matter to me who made it, I want to be able to search for a toroidal one or an upright chassis mount; I want to look for primary and secondary voltages and current ratings, I think it would be much better if you could search for like things together. If I am, searching for capacitors, I wouldnt need to drill down to search from each manufacturer and waste time and bandwidth finding out that a certain manufacturer doesnt supply the type with the ratings that you want. I hope this will enable you to structure the search facility in a more useful way.

Quick and efficient as normal. However, beware of limited stock items. I ordered 100 of 08-1015. There were 79 in stock and I expected the others to be on back order. Instead, I was charged the single price for the items and the remainder cancelled resulting in me paying £3.71 for 79 items instead of £3.40 for 100! Irritating!

In response to an enquiry I was given incorrect information which together with an incorrect pictorial listing in your in-line catalogue led to me purchasing the wrong 2xAA battery holder. Several phone calls later the matter was resolved but at over 3 times the originally quoted price.

I wish Rapid could hold more stock, as most of the parts I want to buy are on 1-2 months lead time which makes me to source from your competitors instead.

Prices and service are usually good but it can be hard to find products on the website where there are sometimes a dozen or more different categories for very similar items, and my last order was inadequately packaged so one item arrived broken.

One niggle. If I order BC108b transistors I expect to get them, NOT BC108. They have different gain ranges.

Price, quality and delivery merit 5 stars, however I was given wrong information in response to an email enquiry resulting in me paying some £9 more than I need and having an item which I have no use for. I wanted a 3v solar panel for outdoor use. I was told it didn't have an IP rating and a clear fronted IP65 enclosure was recommended. Upon opening the panel, the intructions said it could be used outdoors and it should only be used behind a a window on dull/cloudy days.

One of the items arrived broken but I was immediately offered a refund or replacement. Another item was not what I needed but there seemed a reluctance to respond to my query re a return.

Service from Rapid is very good, sadly they are let down by their choice of carrier (UKMail) who really do not care about customer satisfaction. Many times we have had packages doorstepped at the wrong address, or tracking showing "no-one home" (it is a business address with many people on site throughout the day). All too often parcels do not even arrive the next day - with no explanation from the carrier as to why. In summary, Rapid Electronics are great as long as you don't need the parts in a hurry. Now, whenever it is urgent I pay the extra & use Farnell.
