Vehicle locked itself with engine running. Initial text told us 1 1/2 hour wait. Had to call a further 3 times to chase, kept being told engineer delayed. eventually arrived just over 4 hours after 1st call. Have dismissed my complaint will not be renewing with RMC

They renewed the cover automatically. I did not need the cover, but they refused to cancel and refund the policy which had gone up by 50% because it was 18 days since renewal and past 14 days cooling off policy even though I had never used their service. Not even a partial refund. Really bad.

I was quoted twice the price for renewal than starting a new plan. That is what I call a rip-off!

My tyre was bursted I called them they refused to come as I don’t have spare tyre and puncture kit in my car !! Some should tell them if I have those things available why I suppose to call rescue I can fixed it myself !!!so I believe I wasted my money I was with AA before they never asked silly questions like that so I advise better to pay a little more and take cover from professional people

I had bought this breakdown for my son. Initially given a time of an hour but they kept changing the arrival time. Took 4 hours, the recovery truck came from Burnley, we are in Blackpool!!!! They were quick enough to take the £40 payment based on totally unrealistic timings. Avoid.

If I could 0 stars I would! The first time in 3 years I've needed them and after 35 minutes on the phone listening to an agent will respond when available I walked to a little village garage who jump started me immediately at no charge. I actually decided to replace the battery as being elderly I didn't have confidence in case I stalled. This garage got a battery delivered and fitted within 30 minutes. What stars they are. So, I kept the phone call going and Rescue my car hadn't responded before I turned the phone off and was on my way!

Very disappointing service, called the service desk about a flat battery and gave the location in north Wales only to be told via text that the rescue vehicle was coming from 85 miles away and would take over 2 hours. I phoned back to say I had managed to get the car jump started with the help of a few kind people passing by and to cancel the call out only to be told that they would not come out to the vehicle if the same problem reoccurred. Needless to say policy cancelled and back to my old breakdown company.

The service was abysmal; my car broke down in the middle of nowhere at 6pm with my two toddlers, and when I called them, they showed no concern. They provided inconsistent timing estimates, and one employee claimed there was a miscommunication, leading to a staggering 4-hour wait, which ultimately turned into a grueling 6-hour ordeal. It felt like dealing with a group of incompetent individuals who lacked empathy for my stranded situation with hungry kids. If I had known the expected wait time earlier, I could have arranged alternative transportation, but they continuously kept me waiting.

I can’t see how this company gets so many stars in reviews. The 2 times my daughter has needed it, they refused to come out with some get-out clauses. They are only any use in certain circumstances- which means you can’t rely on them. They might come up trumps depending on what’s wrong and where you are- or they might refuse to come out and you’re in a dicey situation. She is ditching them fast & going for one of the top 3. You get what you pay for.

Stay away . They have more time to listen to recorded calls than having the attitude to assist , train your supervisors , coach them to really understand what they are there for ! I’m out

Stay away. After given waiting times twice totalling 3 hours. I eventually got the car going myself after nearly 4 hours and called to tell them, I was still charged the £40 excess because the breakdown vehicle was 'on it's way'.

Scam Wouldn’t recover me as I didn’t have a puncture repair kit. I had two kids in the car. Tyre had totally blown so I’m not sure what the daft cow thought I was going to do with the puncture repair kit

Absolutely dreadful service. Left me stranded on a busy motorway for over an hour, although quick to take £40 excess over the phone in dangerous situation then relayed me to nearest services. Waited there for another 5 hours with texts telling me of delays then no contact whatsoever. I called them again after nobody turned up to be cut off after waiting ages. Eventually got relayed to garage (only 110 miles away) 9 hours after initial breakdown. So much for being a single female pensioner with a heart condition. RMC not interested in my complaint at all - they responded with several inaccuracies which I had to correct, only for them to pass on meaningless apologies. Needless to say their very untimely reminder to renew my subscription will not be taken up!! Will never use them again.

Absolutely appalled at the experience of dealing with this company. Other reviews say you get what you pay for and its true. Lots of hidden costs and get outs with these. Paid for top cover but when my daughter broke down they charged her an extra £200 to move the car on special truck (its only a fiat 500) and then wanted another £110 to take it to a garage because they were all closed. Whats the point of recovering it to home and then leaving it there ? The the recovery agent lost the car key at a cost of £100. So i could be over £400 down using this company

I called them last Friday when my car broke down and I was unable to drive it. After 40 minutes of listening to "stay on the line, we will answer your call", I put the phone down. I realise that it was a bank holiday weekend, but surely answer the phone in the first instance, and advise that they will will call when they're able to to get the ball rolling. They weren't there when I needed them, therfore the money spent on cover proved to be completely wasted. Thankfully, a family member was able to tow me. I would not recommend this company.

Steer clear. Phoned them to report my husband’s car had broken down and they were so unhelpful. He previously had another car so when I explained that he had changed it, I was told that they couldn’t help me. Had all the proof needed but they refused. Going back to Greenflag, they’re worth the extra money. Definitely won’t be recommending these jokers

Stuck on the side of the M62 & had to climb back over the barrier to make a further payment as my "type" of breakdown was not covered under my policy. Cannot locate the wording in the policy to this day where I must pay additional fees if my breakdown isn't as specific as the "clutch" but unfortunately I'm not a mechanic so I couldn't diagnose the fault so was forced to pay to be safe from 4 lanes of traffic. Please avoid - lots of very specific T&C's. If you are on a motorway at a weekend you will end up paying extra to get to an open garage & onward journey is only "contribution" to hotel or taxi but no amount is specified. Trust Pilot Reviews that led me to purchase unfortunately are based on ease of purchase - not performance of recovery.
