“I was living on the actual flat on the second floor when became disable with mobility issues. Since then I have living on online shopping. On my notes to the driver it states that I am disable and need my order deliver to my door on the 2nd floor.
I checked on the site about information for the deliveries and they only say "you ask we deliver". My experience has been a challenge, drivers complaining, making me explain my condition some of them in a not polite way, calling me from downstairs so the all building can hear, etc. They claim that the policy is not to deliver above 1st floor without lift, but on Sainsbury's site for customers nothing is mentioned.
Today I was expecting my order and the driver refused to deliver it and left. So besides being disable now I can not have my groceries that I paid for with the delivery charges included.
If they don't want to do it should advertise the conditions in a clear way. Besides should teach their drivers to treat customers with kindness.”
“Previous review incorrect re. smartshop prices. Savings on your shop will appear in the nectar app. yes the nectar app. as a discount voucher against the next shop in Sainsburys. Apply voucher by selecting voucher at till when paying. Four stars for not making this clear in info. about app.”
“The smartshop prices dont work. Told by instore staff that a refund will be added to the app but that never happened on any of the four occasions I was forced to pay full price for most of my items reduced on my smartshop app. Its a scam to get you to purchase these items. They know you are not going to put everything back if a few things dont work. Well jokes on you Sainsburys because thats exactly what i did my 5th attempt. You are better off with Tesco clubcard prices, at least the price stated is the price you pay! im still waiting for my refunds but I wont hold my breath.”
“Basically the wholeorder was off and when I tried to call I was put through,to South Africa who couldn’t help.
Everything was semi opened.brown and found smelling, how they dared delivered the order which was well over £150 was beyond me,
Never ever again,disgusting”
“Had an online delivery the food was just about expired. Within a day the carrots had gone to mush the bread was stale the next day. Don’t be fooled by their Irish/ British meat. So far the meat is disgusting we had two steaks one sirloin one ribeye. The meat was a grey colour when cooked and did not look or taste anything like steak. The cubes steak is tasteless also grey when cooked. Disgusting. It all went in the bin.
The tomatoes arrived already mushy and soft as did the lettuce with only one day to go before it expired. We ordered loose jersey potatoes they were no where near jersey potatoes. They must have just given us any old potatoes to get rid of them. Spent about £100.00 will never use this store again. Avoid at all costs. It used to be quality. Now it’s pathetic.”
“I was approaching Northfield Branch of Sainsburys and was disgusted to see a child undo the packaging from a vape product, drop it on the ground outside the shop and begin smoking. When I went into the kiosk, I asked them to check who it was and remind them that buying/ selling tobacco products to people clearly below 18 was illegal (child protection/ duty of care) and gave the shop an even worse reputation.
They asked if I'd seen her actually buy it, but she came out of the shop and unwrapped it right in front of me. The staff responded by shrugging and diddling off to do nothing, like they usually do.
I'm glad I shop at Aldi. It's far cheaper, the staff are well-trained and attentive and there is security and senior staff present to prevent breaches in the law.”
“I purchased one of your taste the difference thick cut ribeye steaks and did it on the barbecue yesterday, and I must say it was one of the nicest most tender steaks I’ve eaten.
So it’s a five star from me.”
“Sadly sainsburys appears to have become a very below par quality supermarket with sky high prices and are quite happy to blatantly rip the consumer off. Awful fresh produce that looks like its been sat on the shelf for weeks. Blatant high prices for basic staples compared to other big supermarkets. As for fuel, well they never pass on price decreases do they, they are just ripping us all off.
Shameful excuse of a supposedly top end supermarket. They need to take a long hard look at their business model or go bust.”
“First time shopping at Sainsburys and tbh expected more from a top shop but can't for the life of me work out who in their right minds wants their groceries thrown into dirty crates for everyone to see what idiot thought of this unhygienic way ? Will definitely be going back to Ocado who USE CARRIER BAGS!!!!!!”
“Today was my final order using Sainsburys online shopping. I really have had enough and am fed up with having to go shopping to get the items they are unable to supply which rather defeats the whole object of having your shopping delivered. Why is it that so many items are available when you place your order but when it comes to you order being picked in store have run out.
I would like to think that whoever picks my order would give some consideration and try and get close to what I would choose myself if shopping in store. Unfortunately it appears that their remit is to unload items that are near to their use by date or (in the case of fresh produce) are either too small or slightly the worse for wear.
Anyhow I have had enough of disappearing items, items with one day left on their use by date or items that are either too small or blemished I will NOT under any circumstances use Sainsbury's online shopping again. They have really got to be the worse online shopping service going.”
“Bought fresh veg on Wednesday for Sunday lunch. All of it was rotten by Sunday, kept in the cool drawer of my fridge. Went back today so we could have a delayed dinner. Got home, omg the parsnips were soaking wet through and the carrots were already rotting. Totally disgraceful, I normally would have returned them but besides paying twice for veg the fuel cost doesn’t make it worth the bother.”
“I ordered a picnic lunch for my 90 year old mum. I was taking her on a boat along the Thames. I arrived at Chesham Sainsburys at 10.00am, (the time requested) to pick up the order and of the 3 items, 2 were not available. This meant that I had to chase around the store, find something else and get back in time to pick my mum up and get to the boat. What would have been a great memory and day out was suddenly made stressful. I telephoned to complain, got a refund on the items not available. but was told that I should have been informed in advance as to what was not available. I was told that this complaint would be "escalated". I have heard nothing more from Sainsburys. I guess they thought I would just go away.”
“Disappointed with the poor quality not happy with substitutes, very disappointed,i just want to try once as i usually used Tesco is much better i am going back to Tesco don`t like Sainsbury online, not recommend, very unhappy, customer services is not helpful!”
“Sainsbury never cares for their customers. Their staff treated customers badly. A lady in dewsbury store Asifa is such a shame , she misbehaved because of her personal argue. When asking for a manager another lady claimed to be manager lied to me. They misbehaved me. I sent many emails but no response. Then after a week when I went in store for my usual grocery shopping, a staff member approached me and said leave the store, you are banned from our store. Why?? What for? I haven't done anything wrong.”
“My review is not about Sainsbury in general just about 1 of their products.
Meal for 1 Chicken Tikka Biriani. This was the most awful Biriani I have ever tasted. It all tasted the same and was more like slimey rice on a plate!
Dont know who made this recipe for Sainsbury but they need to change it.
Really disappointed will go back to my favourite Biriani ready meal from another supermarket. Well worth driving out of my way every now and then to get something that tastes very authentic.”
“Tinned TUNA, sainsbury's brand smells like 10 year old cat food. Stinks, long stench that tells you it's not fit for huma consumption. Assumed it was just because it was pink and raw, not prepared. It stunk after cooking it, seasoning it. It was putrid. No one should eat that and they're not regulating the quality of their food, IT'S FOUL.
Want that to stop. That needs to be examinned. Came out in a rash too. DO NOT EAT THEIR TINNED FISH. TRULY STINKS! RANCID.”
“I would like the Manager of my local store in Haywards Heath to demonstrate to me how to tear a piece of Clingfilm from the box.....its totally impossible. Presume manufacturers have changed what it contains to be Eco friendly but certainly not customer friendly.”
“Sainsbury's delivery drivers have been brilliant. So helpful, polite and they've never let us down.
This service was a godsend during the Pandemic and we will certainly stay with it even now the situation is much calmer. Because of health issues I find it difficult to carry heavy items, so to have my shopping brought to the door is perfect.”
