SAMi® is a video-based sleep activity monitor for parents, caregivers and individuals that need to watch carefully for unusual movements at night. SAMi can detect and alarm on all types of movement, with settings that can be easily customized to your individual needs. During sleep, the SAMi camera's proprietary technology monitors for unusual or abnormal movement in the field of view. When abnormal movement is detected, an alarm sounds on the Apple device running the SAMi iOS app (iPhone / iPod / iPad / Mac) and displays a live video / audio feed. Within seconds, the individual or caregiver can take any necessary action. SAMi will not only reliably alert you to abnormal movement, but automatically records high quality video and audio of the event, providing invaluable video evidence for Neurologists, Epileptologists, and other Healthcare providers to accurately diagnose and prescribe effective treatment plans. “This has saved my son’s life on more than one occasion. It has helped the doctors diagnose what type of seizures he has because it records. Most of all it helps me to sleep at night. Thank you Sami for your product. 10 out of 10 for me!”

“Peace of mind!!!! I tried so many “baby monitors” in place of this and it just did not work. This device has helped me get a better night sleep knowing my daughter will be closely watch by this monitor and alert me if she has any medical needs.”

Hi Stacia! You can use the clock mode to hide the live view and then dim the screen so it's essentially black. It will still open to the live feed if you touch the screen or an alarm goes off! Just click on the clock button in the bottom left of the live view screen and then slide your finger across the screen to the left to dim the brightness! Hope this helps :)

“I’ve been using this camera after my little one had a febrile seizure. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing that I’ll be alerted if anything happens overnight while we’re sleeping. I’ve used the app mainly on my tablet so it’s a larger screen and louder alerts. However, my phone app works fine too in a pinch. So glad to have found this!”

“SAMi has given us peace of mind at night. We were taking turns sleeping (if you want to call it sleeping) with our child with epilepsy. This monitor enables us to sleep in our own bed and getting good nights sleep, knowing that it will alert us to any movement. “My son has nocturnal seizures that can be tough to detect. The Sami records and catches when he has laughing seizures, and even some staring spells. It gives me peace of mind to have recordings to show his neurologist as well as alarms so I can intervene. I’ve recommended it to so many parents of children with epilepsy.”
