“The cancellation policy is ridiculous. You should be able to cancel with a fair amount of advanced notices. Cancelled 2 months out and I couldn’t get a refund.”
“I went through four scooters on my 16 days Cruise. Each one had something wrong with it they were in pretty bad repair. And I needed to pay $50 for getting it back to California from Miami and I don't feel it was worth it because I was constantly going to get a different one. Please respond to me as I do need to have future needs for a scooter I just want to be sure that when I get another one it is in much better working order thank you”
“I was not able to make the planned cruise due to a flight delay. I called to cancel my rental, and they said or did nothing in the way of compensation since the reason for the cancelation was beyond my control.”
“Rented scooter for cruise. Another rep said it was available before cruise for our land part. It was a no show. It never showed for our entire land portion. We relied on your so we had nothing else with us. I had to beg, borrow and steal wheelchairs for his use. My husband is a large man and my back was breaking by the time we got to the ship.
On board we received a scooter. Guess what?! It wouldn’t work. The ship couldn’t fix it, so again we have nothing to use. Back to wheelchairs.
I have seen your company’s name numerous times. Believed your were a reliable company. Now I am hearing other stories. SO DISAPPOINTED.”
“Requested a foot rest and gave my specific height and requirements. Was assured that I would be accommodated but when the wheelchair arrived it was not as promised. I had knee surgery and let the representative know that I could not bend my knee and needed to keep it straight. The Representative assured me that there was a foot rest for someone my height. When delivered the delivery person didn't know how to adjust the foot rest and when it was adjusted it was still the wrong fit. Item arrived damaged and the wheel brake was not operating properly. Learned my lesson...Don't order from Scoot Around”
“The scooter did not hold a charge. I spent a full day of my vacation trying to get this worked out in a completely different state then the actual rental was made. The refund that I received was less then adequate for the turmoil, stress and agony of having to deal with you people.”
“The wheelchair was delivered to the cruise ship as expected. However, it was an absolute mess! For the price I paid, I would have expected something in much better shape. The right wheel was so worn out that it could barely be pushed on the carpeted hallways and rooms. The left wheel bearing was shot, and it made a jerking ride same a clacking noise. My father was very heavy, hence we rented a bariatric chair, and the condition of the chair made the entire week miserable on we that had to push it. There is no possible way I would ever rent from this company again. The rental was almost as expensive as buying a chair and throwing it away at the end of the trip. And, being on a cruise, there was nothing I could do once we were onboard. I contacted the company after the trip but go no response. Awful, awful company.”
“We rented 2 Scootaround scooters for a 21 day cruise in Europe. One scooter was given to us UNCHARGED. The other had a broken key. We called Customer Service before we left the dock - did not hear from anyone until of course the ship had left port. Scootaround said there was another key taped to the bottom of the seat. Guess what? No key! The second scooter would not hold a charge. We found the charger to be defective. Luckily we had the 2nd charger, but had to wait twice as long for the 2 scooters to charge. We repeatedly went to Guest Service on the ship & they put in repeated calls to Scootaround 's customer service number. No one would answer. Within 3 days, BOTH scooters started making horrible noises & thumped as they rolled around. We went to several major ports, but Scootaround said they had no locations available to make exchanges. It was the WORST experience of our years of cruising. Scootaround DOES NOT maintain their vehicles in good condition AND they don't care!
NEVER AGAIN WILL WE RENT ANYTHING FROM SCOOTAROUND!!!!”
