We bought two leather LaZboy sofas from ScS three and a half years ago choosing the better leather and being told by the Salesman in Harlow branch how wonderful the sofas were. As John Patrick Dumas review ours also has a faded patch on the back which when calling out the engineer from the extra 5 year warranty we took out that it was due to oil in the skin. Are we not supposed to sit on the sofas then? The insurance only covers an accident and this is not classed as an accident so they would not repair, and the After Sales Team at ScS were not interested at all as they said it was not a manufacturers fault. We were not made aware of the chance of this happening wen we bought the sofas although the engineer told me he sees this all the time. Do not buy a from ScS they are only interested in getting your money!

I ordered my new sofa online in February it was delivered in May. All but to the exact date promised. Before the order was confirmed a salesman rang and I paid more money for better quality cushions (£69). The 2 delivery guys put the cushions on the sofa (corner sofa) We were disappointed as the cushions sank and went out of shape every time you sat on it. I contacted SCS, they sent an ‘Independent’ company to check it out. They guy did not bring his scales to weigh the cushions. He also asked if we had been sitting in the corner! What else are you meant to do on a sofa?! The report came back as everything being as it should. I complained again. They sent the guy out again. This time I mentioned I had paid extra for better quality cushions. He said he didn’t know what I had ordered. Surely this should be something they do know?! I also tried speaking to someone on live chat. They were just plain rude and couldn’t be bothered to answer my questions sensibly or help whatsoever. After another complaint to SCS they agreed to send new cushions. They sent the seat cushions only not the back cushions. I complained again. The email reply said they don’t send the back cushions. I told them I was bitterly disappointed, they never replied. The new cushions are much comfortable than the ones they sent with the sofa. We now have a spare set of covers as the new cushions came with covers. We will dispose of the old cushions as they are rubbish and not worth keeping. I will not buy from SCS again.

One word ..disgraceful !!!! Should be zero stars . Customer services . Rude..unhelpful. do not respond to e mails. Do not know how this company is still in business!!!

I will never buy anything from SCS again. A very disappointing experience from this company "white City Manchester store" eventually delivered my LVT flooring, being promised it would be brought up to my 1st floor flat door, because I am disabled. It was eventually delivered at night 11pm. The delivery guy said we don't deliver to the door and SCS know that. Upon realising I am disabled and it being nearly midnight he agreed to bring it upstairs to my front door. We had to struggle bringing it into the flat, 13 heavy LVT PACKS of flooring. When LVT floor fitters came, they realised that the scs store hadn't ordered the right thresholds, so the flooring is laid without any thresholds. When I went to the store to enquire about the wrong threshold had been ordered and delivered, the manager wasn't interested. I was told I had to sort it out myself. I am now having to pay someone and buy again thresholds to be fitted. SCS wasn't interested that I am disabled and that I could trip over unfinished work because of their carelessness. I have no problem with the fitters who laid the flooring, they did a good job. But they couldn't finish it because SCS ordered the wrong thresholds. We ended up with only using 10 packs of flooring, leaving us with 3 packs unused and SCS don't buy back unused packs. So therefore, in my opinion, they over order to gain more money from their sales. Approximately each pack £44 total £132 of floor not needed, to which I'm stuck with and can't move. SCS in my opinion, over order to gain a better cash flow for their own bonuses.

The worst company ever to deal with! I ordered carpets for my new house on 2nd of June and I was told they would be ready in 3-4 weeks so I was given keys for my new house as per that. Unfortunately they did not do the carpets for the house (only one small room was done) as per promise and I was given another date of end of June, they didn't do the carpets again. I was given a date of start of July, carpets not done again. Then another date of 7th July, caprts not done. Then 10th July, not done, then 13 July still not done. Then 15th July not done. End of July date still not done. Then I was told they are coming in store on 30th July, today when I called they said carpets still haven't turned up. I was living with my family in a rented house so I was paying the rent there as well as paying mortgage for my new house as waiting for the flooring. I had to change my move out date at least 4 times and then my landlord politely asked me to stop it as he got new tenants. I moved into my new house (of our dreams) which was not carpeted yet. There is dirt everywhere making my couple of carpets dirty as I am still waiting for my lounge, stairs with landing and one bedroom carpets. Their customer service is pathetic and when I said I wanted to speak to the manager they did not call me back and it's been 2 weeks at least while I was told they would get back to me in 2 days. They said they can only give me 10% of the order which is nothing as I had to stay extra one month in that rented house while I could have been in my house and I was paying mortgage as well so being charged double kind of. I would advise everyone to STAY AWAY FROM THESE FRAUDSTERS! They are not worth it and they don't value their customers at all!

FEELING TOTALLY RIPPED OFF! Update 30/07/2021: After speaking with SCS a few days ago and choosing to continue to await repairs, I have now been informed that my repairs and parts have been cancelled and the person I spoke to requested ADR against my wishes!!!! This is an absolute joke! Is anyone actually here to help? I will be taking legal advice. Original review: I spent thousands of pounds on a leather Lazy boy sofa and chair. Within 6 months an arm on both had dropped down, now rubbing on the carpet when reclining. I had a 'technician' round who said he would order new parts for sofa but chair was ok put on raisers one side??? It is not! The frame work is now worsening whilst I wait already 12 weeks for parts. SCS refused to replace or refund. The sofa frame is currently propped up by the technician which I know will damage the frame further. I will never ever buy from this company again. It seems from reviews they are commonly unhelpful. Absolute disgrace! I feel completely ripped off. The salesman told us complete lies too. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE, AFTERCARE IS AWFUL. FEELING TOTALLY RIPPED OFF! SCS are continuing to dispute an obviously damaged G Plan sofa. Morale of the story is…Buy G Plan (great stuff) BUT not from SCS. Having to recover costs through legal route. Never had to do this before but they appear to have a policy of delay, delay, delay regardless of how clear the case is, and hoping you’ll go away eventually. Photos show condition of suite on the day it arrived in May ! They’re arguing it’s now ‘wear n tear’ Nuts

Ordered our new sofa April time, sales woman was very friendly and wasn't pushy at all. The time frame was August for delivery but we took delivery in July. Overall very happy with the service and sofas. Delivery guys were excellent, very friendly and helpful

Awful! Will not use again Ordered carpet in April 2021, paid last amount in may 2021. Was told it would come late June. So I removed the old carpet. Was told on the day of fitting carpet was damaged. So had to order again. Fitting will now be in August.. I asked if I could speak to some one about this.. last week. Was told someone would be in touch 24-48 hours.. it’s been a week still not heard anything. NOT IMPRESSED

Absolute nightmare, from last October, 2 settees and a stool, the stool is the only thing that's ok with this order, Cetainly not as advertised, after going into things on line and deciding, we went to the store in July, delivered in October, I really am too upset to go into everything, Took our dispute to retail ADR, Today had the outcome, They have sided with SCS, exactly as we expected, Don't even think about SCS, the sooner they go into liquidation the better this country will be. Taking people's money for substandard furniture, then having the nerve to say WE, are not qualified to say they are not up to standard,

Bradford store very friendly when you go in to purchase but as soon as there is a problem attitude changes , i bought a sofa and chair delivered on time collapsed when sat on it brackets and wood chip on floor no one would answer telephone in shop i had to go to shop and speak with them personally I found their attitude changed and not very helpful, i rang customers service who was very helpful and arranged for a nice gentleman to come and do report on the furniture fault and repaired it, i explained i was not happy having paid £1000 for suite with a defect and would like replacement, customers service again brilliant and asked me to go in shop and choose replacement which I did but the guy who served me was a misery, 3 weeks later i rang customers service and asked for delivery date but no surprise the shop had not ordered it , so customer service contacted shop who rang me and order now gone in on 26 July 2021. Shame shop assistants not as friendly as customer service. Let's see what happens review coming,

SCS are rubbish. Do not go near this joke of a company. We spent 2.5k last year on 2 leather sofas. As is the norm we were messed about on delivery dates and ended up having no sofas over Christmas as a result. Customer service was like dealing with well meaning idiots. Finally months after the first delivery date they had given me 2 blokes arrived to deliver the sofas in something that looked like a converted 1950s Mr Whippy Ice Cream Van. The back door was held shut by a crow bar wedged into the mechanism and the tailgate lift didn't work. The 2 blokes had no idea how to get the furniture into the house and even though my wife and I had managed to move 2 larger sofas out ourselves they said they couldn't do it and would have to unwrap it but first off course I had to sign a disclaimer to say any damage was down to me. Then they literally rammed the sofas into the house scraping door frames and paintwork like it was some sort of furniture 'Its a Knockout'. Noticed below you can indicate who made the delivery but there is no Laurel and Hardy option. I'd also paid for some furniture care set but off course they didn't have that and it took months of chasing to eventually get it. But by then within 6 months we'd noticed serious dis-colouring and fading of the leather in patches over both sofas and the foot stool. Photos below that unfortunately don't do it justice. Having purchased the insurance / 5 year warranty as well we tried to claim on that, but it turns out that this is just another money grabbing scam by this scum of a company and it turns out it covers you for nothing. I've just emailed the CEO to complain (why don't you all do the same - you can find his address by searching for 'CEO email addresses' and looking for SCS). My next step will be to return the sofas to the shop on a busy Saturday afternoon to show the sales people (and anyone else in the shop off course) the shocking quality of goods and appalling service they offer. Do yourself a favour and steer well clear of this company.

Ordered carpet from scs 1st week of May. They said it would take 4 weeks til in stock and then they could fit it a week later. After a month I rang and they said they would chase it up. Heard nothing. Emailed customer services who replied and said it was delayed and expected to be in 2 weeks later. I replied asking them to assure me it would be fitted by the end of June or if not I would order another carpet that was in stock. Then heard nothing. All contact ignored. Went to the shop, carpet manager was useless and in the end rude. There was no explanation of why it was late. Eventually I got a call saying carpet was in stock but fitting couldn’t be for another 17 days! I was furious. They said fitter can only do one stair carpet per day and because I hadn’t ordered a carpet for a flat area (room) I would have to wait til then. They said they would email my shop and someone would contact me. Needless to say no one ever did. Emailed my disgust to customer services again. No reply. So carpet has just been fitted 2 and half months later. Fitters were ok, did it in just over an hour although they were expected 9-11am and didn’t start til 1pm. Again no call to say they were running late. Can’t see why they wouldn’t have time to fit another stair carpet in same day. Now today I’ve received 2 emails at 1am and 2am to say my carpet is in stock and that they will shortly be fitting it! Bloody ridiculous. Don’t order a carpet from them. They lie and they don’t have any standard of customer service whatsoever. If they had said at the beginning it would take this long then I could have decided whether to order it or go elsewhere. Will never shop there again.

I would never buy from scs again. My husband took a day off work as we thought we were having our carpets fitted. I called at 6pm to see where the fitters were and was told they had been cancelled after some problems with the fitted. They did not contact us to let us know. They gave us another date the 19th July and my husband has just had a call to say they have been canceled again!! Just not good enough!!!

God I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered my carpet from this company like others it should has been fitted 3 week's ago. The y gave us another date and I got a phone call from a guy called Liam saying the fitters couldn't fit it for another week. They have done nothing but lie to us sorry scs but you had picked the wrong person to mess around

Do not purchase anything from this company. From Customer Service to after sales a shambles and do not care about consumer or consumer rights .i would think there should be a minus star rating here . Ongoing battle with them regards faulty sofa only two months old.

ScS sold me insurance you know the usual high pressure sales at the point of purchase. This is sold via a third party and ScS wash their hands of it when the company Cadtledean refuse to comply with the policy. Strangely we were thinking about Carpets absolutely no chance now. As others have said it's all about sales nothing about the customer. I am thinking about direct action to earn others.... My store was Staples Corner... Steer clear...

Never, ever use this company. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I ordered two Laz-y-Boy leather armchairs and a sofa to match on May 23rd last year, the first day the shop reopened after lockdown. I was told it would be here beginning of September and it arrived in October. After a couple of months the sofa and one armchair became very uncomfortable and sagged, I sent photos to SCS head office at the beginning of January this year and someone eventually came to have a look on March 1st. I was told that new parts had been ordered for them and they would be here beginning of April, nothing turned up, then 17th May, still nothing. I sent another email and got a phone call saying definitely the following week, still nothing. This is now over 4 months since I first reported the fault and nothing has happened so I then said I wanted a replacement or refund. I was told I could choose new furniture so we want an ordered it on 8th June, another Laz-y-boy which I didn’t really want. Three weeks later I got a phone call saying that I could go and order new furniture and I told the lady on the phone we had done this three weeks ago, but she had no record of it. I heard nothing else and tried to ring back but when you call the shop number you get the head office in Sunderland, it is impossible to phone the actual shop. I held on for over 25 minutes with no answer so tried again later. After 15 minutes wait again I got through and was told they had no record of an order. I then visited the shop again and they still swear they had ordered it all so I asked for a copy of the order which was then written out by hand! When I got home and read the order there was no armchair on it so again I had to return to the shop as ringing them was useless. Nobody ever gets back to you or lets you know what is happening and nobody even seems bothered. I got really annoyed now and said I wanted a refund. I was told they would get back to me, yet again they didn’t. Eventually I got a call about a week later and was told I could have a refund. Out of the blue a week later I got a text saying they were collecting the furniture the following day and they would ring for my card details the next day, of course they never did. I rang them and was determined to hold on no matter how long it took to get my money back. after 30 minutes I got through and got a refund which I don’t believe I would have got had I not phoned them and insisted. Terrible, terrible company to do business with, avoid like the plague. If I could give them zero stars I would.
