Well to be honest I am not sure where to start with our appalling experience with this company. After originally ordering with an SCS employee we were very happy. We had the carpet measurer round and explained exactly what we wanted in each room. We were extremely clear about wanting the two downstairs living rooms stripes running long ways (both in the same direction). We booked our carpets in to be delivered and fitted on the 24th November and our furniture to follow a week later on the 1st December. Much to our dismay the 24th November is when our problems started. The carpet fitter was great but despite his best efforts he had been told to bring the incorrect carpets. For two of our rooms we ordered striped carpets and were delivered plain – we were informed that that is what was asked for on the paperwork. Well our paperwork proved otherwise. We refused delivery of those carpets as they were not what we ordered. We were then informed it would be a week before we could have those two carpets fitted (not ideal at all when we were on a schedule but there was nothing we could do so we agreed and they informed us that the furniture would be rescheduled too). Then on Wednesday the 29th the carpet fitter rang, he could fit the carpets that day as they had arrived in that day’s delivery, we very happily agreed. Much to our horror the carpet fitter came with the incorrect carpet for one of the rooms (AGAIN!!) someone at SCS had decided in their infinite wisdom that we wanted one room’s stripes to run long-ways and the other to run widthways. No, that doesn’t even make sense! So we once again were told they would have to order the carpet, causing us further delay. We were very angry at this point with getting messed around but again there was nothing we could do but wait and put up with further upheaval in our home. We were then contacted by the furniture depot department of SCS and we were very rudely told we needed to accept delivery of the furniture the next day as they were ready in the warehouse. We were informed that we could not refuse the delivery; I told her in no uncertain terms we couldn’t possibly accept delivery of the furniture when they hadn’t even laid our living room carpet yet. The woman on the phone answered that we should have thought of that before ordering them. Not being funny but had they delivered us the correct carpets the first time we would have had an entire week before it became an issue! I was informed that due to me being ‘difficult’ over the phone any correspondence now had to go through the store we purchased from. I told her we had no intention of booking a delivery for the furniture until after the carpet was successfully laid just in case they brought the wrong one again. The carpet fitter FINALLY brought the correct carpet on the 5th of December and fitted it for us. So we moved on to getting our furniture, ringing SCS we were informed we couldn’t have it until the 12th of December (further delay caused by this nightmare company) we tried to explain how we had already lost so much time and we just wanted our furniture we were supposed to have weeks ago. We were told there wasn’t an earlier date available so we agreed to receive the furniture on the 12th of December (today). Well we were woken up at god knows what o’clock this morning by a phone call from the delivery driver informing us that they were outside, there was no pre-warning, no phone call the day before with a timeslot and they even thought they had the right to fill out their own customer satisfaction survey on the paper work…err NO! You did not ring us an hour before the delivery (despite you ticking yes on the paperwork), you did not treat our furniture well during the delivery (despite you ticking yes)– I watched as you rolled the twister chair from the height of the back of your van onto the cold hard ground without any care to the damage you may have caused to it! (you basically threw it, it even bounced with the impact), and we did not check the furniture was ok (despite you once again ticking yes) as you told us we had 3 days to check it and you were in a rush. So all in all we would never recommend your company! We have had problem after problem and given the amount of money we spent we would never have believed you would treat us so horribly – but you did!

Ordered our sofa and payed in full in august and told we want delivery any time after 24th November, rang on 24th and told it's been 'delayed' and won't be in store until 11th December! We left that at that, rang them on the 10th and now it's '19th hopefully'. Just take your money and willing to leave a family with no sofa after paying FULL payment 4 months ago!!

Ordered my sofa on 19th October and was told would take about 6 weeks for delibery. We were asked when the earliest date was that we wanted it and we said the 27th of November. We were told that we would get a call a few days before to go in and pay balance. The 27th came and surprise surprise no phone call so we went through to the store and we're then told that it is due to be in warehouse on the 20th of December. I then will have to arrange a delivery date. So looks like I could be sat waiting in for my sofa to be delivered on Christmas eve!!!!. I tried to call to speak to a manager the day after but amazingly he was busy. The woman who I spoke to just more or less said it is what it is and they were waiting until there were more sofas to ship over. There was no apology from anobody. I will not be buying from scs ever again just a pity the salesman wasn't as interested in following me round the shop when I went in with a problem when we went in to buy the sofa . Basically scs get your money and then lie to you about your delivery date and don't even care. Just wish I had gone elsewhere. Perhaps you should be telling your customers that it takes 12 weeks for a sofa to come not 6 weeks

Purchased leather suite boxing day delivered April since then padding on arm collapsed came out repaired now find a rip in leather told 6-8 weeks material has to come from China.Now chair arms are peeling..When they came came out to look at rip in suite told us 6-8 weeks or offered 100 pounds compo.Paid over 2000 pounds for suite will go to trading standards if not sorted to my satisfaction. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY.

20 year guarantee is worthless. 3 months into our LVT flooring being fitted its lifting... £1000 spent and they expect me to accept this is ok.. joke company. please dont make the mistake we did

Everything and anything. Scs still have my money and a rug that I ordered. No call to say it's there, no call to say unavailable just left being in the dark about it. Awful company, Harlow store manager should be a someone who isn't facing public or talking to anyone as she is rude and disgusting. The whole company's a scandal and I'm willing to take the to the cleaners and expose them for kind of company they are. DO NOT BUY FROM SCS

Delivered sofa with no bolts or screws to attach feet, within 3 weeks arms had to be repaired and best of all paid for upgrade to foam rather than fiber filled seats only to discover wrong seats supplied. Customer service complete joke not interested just constantly fobbed off please dont spend your hard earned cash with this bunch of disreputable lying con merchants.

We ordered carpets and laminated flooring sofa and a table - the carpets arrived and are amazing!! Great quality -- better than expected -Waiting on the laminates (which were only ordered recently) and we are being updated with progress continuously (John in particular has been fantastic and really hot on chasing suppliers if external) and we have been given a date in mind for the sofa etc pre xmas. Very happy with the service and for the price - can't beat it! firms like this are busy and patience is key regarding orders. Thank you SCS! (Sarah)

After ScS receive your hard earned money, they don`t care if you have a problem. This is from the branch manager in Birstall, customerserviceexecutive ( she is worse than useless! ), and SENIOR MANAGERS in Head Office. For peace of mind, please do not obtain goods from ScS.

Ordered and paid for carpets then they said they will call next day to confirm delivery that went well although they streched the delivery date. THEN THEY PHONED TO SAY THEY DONT HAVE THAT CARPET!!!! The CS girl in Paisley was adament that they have done nothing wrong as they are happy to sell, take the money then ask if its in stock, plus very rude and had a dont care atitude still trying to get a result, and they have my money so cant go anywhere else till that happens . Nightmare!!!!

If there was a minus 1 that is what SCS would get. In store they are very nice but one they have your order and your money that is where the pleasantries end. I bought a very expensive sofa and chair and while still under guarantee the padding on the sofa arm as shifted. I rang SCS and admittedly they sent someone out within a week to assess. The miserable man who came out took photos and measurements and stuff and only spoke if I spoke to him. He miserably agreed the padding had shifted and said his report goes to another team who come out to fix it. That was the last I heard so I rang the so called Customer Service and they asked me if I was happy with what had been done! I said nothing has been done! To cut a long story short they told me the padding had shifted due to accidental damage and therefore they wont be doing anything. I asked what they though caused this so called accident and they said putting arms on the arm rest! Beggars belief doesn't it? They told me there is no appeal, no manager to speak with and that is that and I will get a letter explain the technicians findings. I told them I will not leave it like this and the conversation ended. I indeed did get a letter off them a few days later, all two lines and spelling mistakes! My intention now is trading standards and small claims court. I will not let this drop. If anyone reading this is thinking of getting a sofa from SCS I beg you not to. You will get rubbish and throw your money away. SCS are probably one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and reading reviews it appears I'm not alone!

firstly I was sent wrong sofa so had to wait 6 weeks for my original a sofa that I ordered the first settee I received was totally wrong colour different legs not matching so wasn't happy at all has had to keep the wrong sofa for 6 weeks although I originally waited 5 weeks for scs to make my sofa when finally scs got it right I received my sofa on Saturday 25 the delivery driver was rude and arrogant wasn't one bit polite I ask him politely can I keep old scatter cushion he replied no why was you hiding them ? asked what will happen to sofa that they brought away he replied were going to dump it for the stress scs as put me threw I thought as a good gesture I would of liked to keep old cushion I've bought off scs in past but don't think I will in future

Everything! Sofa and chair bought in May but only sofa delivered. 2 months later we received the chair which was a different shade to the sofa. Homeserve rep was sent out and declared the difference to be "within acceptable tolerances". We then discovered that the sofa was unevenly padded which resulted in the end seats rolling into the middle seat. 5 months later we are still waiting for this firm to either repair or replace the faulty sofa. Requests for a refund have been ignored. Do not use this firm unless you love to be cheated, ignored and like living with expensive, faulty furniture.

After promising 5 week delivery arrives 8 weeks, with drivers that have not got a clue, they slate the product and say "these are made of crap", after just paying a lot of money to be told that, not good. The drivers walk in with muddy shoes all over baby stuff on the floor, not leave screws that are needed to put together, then trying to get through to customer service to tell them needing the screws the driver did not leave and complain, they are not interested. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY !!!!
