“Our rating would be between good and excellent depending on our four tours taken to date. We had also booked to go on a river cruise this fall but of course it had to be cancelled due to COVID 19. Our travel plans for the next year or two will likely be trips within Canada. We would be interested to know what you have to offer for next year and beyond for travels within our country. Thanks and we hope you will stay solvent and safe during these difficult times. Ross & Mavis Pritchard”
“I've been on 4 Senior Discovery tours and had a wonderful time on each one. The local guides really know their stuff and make the excursions both interesting and enjoyable. The tour director has the skills to keep (most) everyone happy and puts in long hours to ensure we have a safe and happy time. I would not hesitate to continue taking tours with SDT.”
“We have taken several tours - all went well and tour guides were excellent
Hotels and Resorts were all good
Meals good
Local guides were always well informed and interesting
Bus in Costa Rica was not good - very poor window visibility
Really enjoy transport to and from airport
Very helpful to have tour guide always travelling with us
Enjoyed trip that included a river cruise
Overall we found your tours competitive, well planned, and enjoyable

“The memories of our trip to Spain with Senior Discovery Tours remain vivid even today. The trip was first class. Staff and guides were always available, there was nothing wanting in the hotel, and the tours were well done. We have no hesitation in travelling with Senior Discovery Tours in the future.”
“1..The Italian Riviera and Tuscany 2016 was great.Good hotels. great locations especially in Santa Margherita Ligure. Food was very good to excellent. Programs perfect.Highly recommend.
2..Provence spring 2018:would not recommend this hotel.good location. mediocre breakfast. Poor accommodation. if kept same hotel, don't pay for full breakfast. continental better. I would reduce the leisure day by at least one and up grate dinners if you want to keep prices down. Some meals were great like the 2 special lunches. farewell dinner good on paper only. rate 2 for quality. was expecting better food for being in Provence. Prefer to pay a few hundred more and better quality.
3..Crotia/Slovenia:best itinerary of organize tours. Day to Ston,Mostar could be cancelled. Nothing special. get better location for Venice or find another place to fly home. So little time spent in Venice itself, too long drive, not worth it. food ok to good. many hotels not great.”
“We really enjoyed our trip to Hawaii. What really made it special was our tour manager David. He was on top of everything. The hotels were well located. The hotel in Honolulu needs updating or even needs to be changed. The tours were very good especially the trips to the volcanos. The tour of Pearl Harbour is excellent but would be even better if it included the Missouri. There was also sufficient down time to relax by the pool. We would recommend this trip to everyone.
We have looked at other trips especially to Spain or Portugal but they all say the trip is not recommended for someone with mobility issues. This eliminates a lot of seniors who use a walker. Your staff just say the tours are designed for healthy mobile people. Your staff should have an understanding of which excursions scheduled within the overall tour are not acceptable to guests who use a walker rather than just saying the tour is not recommended.”
“We have travelled with SDT many times, 14 I believe. We have always been pleased with each tour. Now we are older, we may stay with tours that are just in Canada.”
“2014 my husband and I travelled with SDT for our 1st trip to Iraly's Tuscany region plus Rome and Pisa. Since his passing 4 years ago I have travelled with SDT to the Maritimes, Britain's Christmas markets, Scotland and Ireland, Italy's Amalfi Coast and Sorrento area, Spain and Portugal, and in March 2020 I travelled to Morocco with them. I love that everything is planned and booked from air travel, hotels, meals, tours, etc. And now that I travel on my own, I feel very safe in a large group. I've made friends with people from each trip and we have visited each other, we talk regularly on the phone, abd keep in touch by email and Facebook.
The only time any problems arose was this year when the world was crippled by the COVID19 pandemic. We were stranded in Morocco longer than our tour, but we were so fortunate to have several fellow travellers who had daughters working with SDT and they eventually got us on a British Airways flight from Marrakech to Heathrow Airport in London. SDT had a tour director meet our group in London and take us to our hotel, gave us our tickets on AC home the next day.
This was very stressful for all our group but me especially. Once home I was very happy to quarantine myself. However the toll it took on me once I knew we were not going home, and may be in Morocco indefinitely, has lead to more frequent therapy sessions.
Now looking back since I returned home on March 20, I'm so glad it was SDT who I travelled with. They took care of getting us home.
I have, however, cancelled my upcoming trip to France in September with SDT. I feel I may never travel overseas again because I know I couldn't go through that same stress again and I won't put my daughter through that ever again.
However, I do an on travelling more in Canada than before. I would love to travel with SDT to Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec province, take the train to BC.
Right now my one wish is to be able to travel safely to visit my daughter in Vancouver one day, sooner rather than later would be great. Our plans have been for me to go at Christmas, but right now I'm not ready to board any plane going anywhere.
I'm still being extra cautious about who I let into my personal business bubble.
Life as we knew it gas changed forever, but I will travel again, just in Canada. I've been to and visit BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario often, and have visited PEI, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Cape Breton, The Yukon and still want to go as many times as possible. Living in Manitoba I've also travelled this provibce extensively, but still want to travel to Churchill one day.
So yes my SDT travels have been more positive, with this year's pandemic being the most unpleasant experience, hopefully never to be experienced again, at home or when travelling, and SDT will be the tour company I choose.”
“Yes I have travelled with senior discovery tours! I was pleased with the tours the guides . my only criticism would be the arrival home guide (gave too many wrong instructions)and transfer from the distant hotel was not not a pleasant experience because of not able to find or use the airport washrooms and then heading to pick up more passengers at another terminal! Perhaps our problem but very frustrating at the end of a great trip!”
“My wife and I enjoyed our trip through Italy and Sicily. The guide was excellent, as was the driver. Every detail was taken care of during the 17 days. We highly recommend Senior Discovery Tours.”
“My favorite tour company!!! I have taken 4 Tripp’s with senior tours and loved every one. I. Was due to rKe another one this spring when the virus hit. The staff are wonderful and they always “have surprises” along the way.”
“Our first trip to the Atlantic provinces was amazing. Our guide was wonderful. She actually changed the date of our trip to the Cabot Trail as it was to be very rainy with the following day's itinerary. We had a wonderful time with her. We enjoyed being escorted to the limousine by your staff and avoiding the mayhem of the other level.
We went to Panama on our second trip with you. It was not so good.
Although we had requested to sit together on the plane, it did not happen. Other participants had the same issue where husband & wife were seated separately. If Kevin and Michael had not added special excusions while we were in Panama City, it would have been dreary as the hotel location was not good for exploring on one's own. We had to change our accommodation as the room was not physically safe....slippery floor & bathtub. The second room was much better with a much improved view. We would recommend that the stay in the City be shortened and alternate location added. Four days was sufficient at the all inclusive resort. Although we had early starts, the exploration of the canal system and the train ride was wonderful.
We are hopeful that we can go to Newfoundland next year, pending the availability of a covid vaccine.”
“I took three tours with Senior Tours and found them to be very enjoyable. The guides were well informed and went out of their way to make our tours interesting and fun. I recommend Senior Tours to many of my friends.”
“Sadly my wife passed away two years ago after a long fight with cancer. We have taken tours with you and found the whole experience excellent from being collected to go to the airport and delivery home at the end. There was nothing left to worry about except being healthy and what to pack. We would recommend your service without hesitation. Peter Tozer”
“After my last, safe, tour to Spain and Portugal in February, I wrote you a fairly good report, and you thanked me for it. I would, and have, recommend you r company any time. Hope things will, eventually, get back to more tours. Good luck”
