“At the end of the tour we provided responses to a lengthy survey handed out by the tour guide. If you received it, we do not feel compelled to repeat ourselves. In brief, we enjoyed ourselves but the trip would have been made even better if more information was provided on what to expect -- specifically with regard to level of physical activity and the time spent on the bus. Also the tour guide needed to do more to bring the group together at the start of the trip especially at the welcoming dinner. He indicated that he was told that he could not attend the welcoming and for that matter the last dinner. Too bad!”

“"The Splendors of Egypt" was our eleventh SmarTorus trip. As usual, it was an incredible experience. We can't say enough about our tour guide, Soha. Besides being an outstanding organizer and trouble-shooter, her local background and education as an Egyptologist gave us a welcome extra understanding of the culture(s) and history of Egypt. Her experienced local assistants helped make everything run as smoothly as possible. The riverboat for our Nile cruise was far more comfortable that we had expected, with a spacious cabin and attentive crew. Granted, there are a couple of early wake-ups during this trip, but they were actually welcomed by our experienced group of travelers (just a few good-natured groans) as they allowed us to get a jump on our filled days, and a jump on other tour groups. All in all, another great experience with smarTours. Can't wait for another "smart" adventure. Marsha & Joel”

“Everything was great, plane ride, bus service, hotels, meals, tour guides and Peru. The only problems were the trip time from Miami started at 2am in the morning and we had to be at the airport at 11pm, change of plane in Bogart at 5am, arrived in Cusco at about 8am, and right after that we started to do our touring no rest until after dinner, that was hard on all of us.”

“The only problems with the tour was LATAM. Long lines missed flight even when they knew that the flight with 24 passengers to go from sanpalou to Miami was delayed due to extreme weather, they didn’t wait for half an hour causing 36 hrs delay for the tour passengers. Otherwise the tour itself was great with a fantastic tour guide in Bernardo. I will probably use other smart tour destinations but not to South America.”

“Attention to detail outstanding. Accommodations outstanding as well. Optional tours very good although we added a trip to the opera since a great opera showing while we were in Sydney. Something management might consider in the future and skip farm stay in NZ. Overall it was a great tour!!! Highly recommend to all.”

“Our guide Rhonda was excellent. Very knowledgeable, helpful and had a wonderful sense of humour. The accommodations were great. A few suggestions: - It would have helped to have something we wore (like a lanyard, or badge) that identified us as part of the Smartours group, especially at the beginning. - Smartours in NYC did not really prepare us for all the additional options - a number of people in our group kept worrying if they had enough cash with them, and they did add to the overall cost of our trip. Perhaps the trips most of us (if not all of us) opted to participate in should be included in the price, so there are no surprises. - We did start getting printouts of the next day’s activities, but not in the first few days - this would have helped and reduced everyone’s anxiety. - Finally, anyone traveling from Canada should be given the option of NOT going tthrough JFK. The Egypt flight from Toronto (direct) came in just after ours, whereas we had to leave Toronto to get to JFK 8 hours before we needed to register in for the Cairo trip. It was a nightmare coming through customs and security on the way home, after the 12 hour flight from Cairo to JFK. Took us hours standing in line ups and added an additional 10 exhausting hours to our return trip. I would only suggest Smatours to Canadians if the flight options were stated up front by the staff of Smartours when booking a trip. I think customers would appreciate this, and weigh out the pros and cons. For us clearly we did not know this would be possible, and did not explore alternative ways of traveling. This should be taken seriously - adding another airport and another country which we needed to get through customs could have been totally avoided and did put a serious damper on our overall experience. I would appreciate hearing back from someone with Smartours about this.”

“Our SmarTours group was 10 people, which made it a pleasure. Our guides went from good (Patricia in Chile) to very good (Mariano in Argentina) to pretty bad (Natalia in Buenos Aires). Food was occasionally good (two Estancias and all hotel breakfasts) and occasionally bad (hotel in Puerto Natale) or nonexistent (early breakfast in Santiago before a flight to Punta Arenas with no food available). The excursions were all very good, especially the penguins and the sheep shearing/lunch). We were very fortunate to see glaciers in excellent weather, plus glimpses of the splendid mountains between the clouds. Our guides should certainly have known that Argentina limits the amount of local cash we could get from the ATMs. Many of us walked from bank to bank, wasting a lot of time, only to learn online, later, that cash would not be forthcoming. Advance warning would have helped a lot. Having limited cash severely cut into tips for our guides, our drivers, hotel staff, and servers in restaurants.”

“This was my first "SMARTOUR" ever and it was truely AMAZING!!!! We did "Amazing Thailand" and it was the best trip ever!!!! Great group with a wonderful tour guide group, Ketsara, Wat, Max and Nok. Highly recommend this tour!!!!!!”

“Overall, Smartours is a real value. Egypt tour was well put together. But so many really elderly on the trip, makes it hard for everyone. Security people were used as medical attendants for wheelchair tourists. Perhaps a separate, lower pace trip is needed for this. Main tour guide, Ronda, was a gem!”
