“i visited Specsavers Seapoint Cape Town a month ago seeking assistance on choosing a frame & the 2 ladies were not helpful at all, they were more chatting about guys. I then left and thought i would try specsavers Cavendish mall. WOW! BRILLIANT SERVICE! I GENUINELY SAY THIS AS THEY WERE EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE HEPFUL & FRIENDLY! I RATE THEM 1000 STARS! WELL DONE SPECSAVERS CAVENDISH!I NOW HAVE MY SPECS WHICH IS PERFECT! NISHAAT”
“Have waited 2weeks for 2 pairs of glasses to be informed by a telephone message that glasses are not ready yet and might ( no definite time given)take another few days. Ridiculous ! Especially after paying up front for them. Most definitely would never recommend Specsavers.”
“I had my annual checkup today at Sainsburys Charlton store. As usual, the service was excellent. Habiba made me feel very comfortable, explained every check she was doing and discussed the results fully with me. Nothing was too much trouble and although I'm 83 she didn't talk to me as though I was an old person!! She discussed styles, type of prescription and gave me a breakdown of the charges. A lovely visit. A very kind, capable woman and a credit to Specsavers. Very good choice of frames and very reasonable prices.”
“I have been a loyal customer of Specsavers of Ely for at least 20 years and have been very happy with them. NOT ANYMORE!. I went to Ely Specsavers today and asked them if they can adjust the lenses which was little bit loose. After asking me my name, my address and when I bought them I was told they can't help me. They looked like teenagers whom had no idea of customer care. I went round to Vision Express in Ely Tesco my problem was solved without asking my name or address by very kind professionals whom cared about their customers. From now on I will make sure non of my family or friends go to Ely Specsavers after todays disappointment.”
“Rang to book a nhs diabetes eye screening test and told booked up until end of june and then not doing the test anymore!
Been customer for 30+ years
Will take all my business elsewhere
Disappointed”
“I have used Specsavers (Seaford Sussex) for a number of years, but unfortunately on this occasion I have found their after sales very unhelpful - I spent £260 on two sets of glasses that are unwearable (waste of money) thankfully my eyes haven’t deteriorated and I am still able to wear them - would not recommend”
“I took my daughter for glasses in Eastgate in Jhb and it took three weeks without hearing from them, on the fourth week I went to store in Eastgate and the service was unbearable 😑 bad. They promised to resend lab order and test card to my medical aid, later they told me they can't resend the documents, I later called my medical aid and they didn't send them. I had spent over R200 calls between my medical aid and spacsave so far and had to hire helper to look after her as she couldn't attend school due to glasses and I don't know what to do. What I know is I will never set my foot at spacsave anymore after working with them for over 15 yrs”
“Labs messed up on 2 occasions with he wrong lenses. Three months ths later and still waiting. Went to another optom and waited three days. Double costs. In house service was OK.”
“Not worth the time going they do not know the first thing about glasses. !!!!! What the hell has SAVING got to do with it. ? As all they want is your money for poorly manufactured frames which seem to be made of poor plastic and the lenses are no better , i had 3 pairs and had to take every one back , in the end i just asked for my money back and went to a reputable place .”
“will never use again, very poor quality glasses .well actually the lenses are made of some type of plastic, one lens is out of focus, and the frame has come apart, will be going elsewhere next time”
“Paid £55 to Spec Savers. They said that my left ear had wax that was too near the eardrum. I said that if you only do one ear, you should charge half. They said that it full amount whether one ear or two. No real advice of how to sort the problem”
“I bought my Glasses in November 2021 not Happy with them as the prescription was blurred kept managing with them it will get better I thought.
Only having them 5 months thought they could be changed
Under Guarantee. They cost me £300pound only to be told . Sorry the 100 days have gone by. So said only wont new lenses put in £169 pound later for the lenses.
It seemed all they wanted was the money . I am a pensioner feel I have been ripped off.”
“Hillsborough branch are incompetent at getting verification orders right, in checking orders before asking you to come in and customer service in dealing with complaints by not giving basic apologies”
“Really disappointed, they refused to change the lenses in my own glasses, really unhelpful and only interested if your paying their prices for frames of which I could find nothing I liked. I won't go to specsavers again. I don't know why the word savers appears in the name as they don't seem to save anyone any money looking at most of these reviews.”
“Hounslow branch used to be excellent but last manager retired. Excellent and friendly he was. Since then it looks like new management in and it’s gone downhill
Gave me the wrong prescription last year which I queried 3 times then had to pay additional £100 on top of £300. New glasses needed now and it’s just money money money it seems. £300 for one pair. What!!! £137 for 2 pairs online. This will be the last time spec savers. The trust in your staff has gone. Massive trust issue here
John”
“con RIP off, just want your money,my glasses were to small every time and very tight, they will just say that looks good and unhelpful staff with dimension sizes of glasses, vision issues as measurements were out,ill fitting cheap, and gave me contact dermatitis for years ruined my life..I use online now surprising how much more helpful they were and save around £400 each time and for 2 pairs I paid £137 online price and one was varifocals.better frames than specsavers.Don't waste your money....only good thing was the eye test.”
“They always say they can't change the lenses in the glasses (you have to buy a new pair). They've done this to me and multiple people I know. When you go to another place they do it just fine.”
“Dear Specsavers team
Could I suggest staff train [ of management ] I was refused a £2.50 refund for a product that did not do the job it was requested for
This was your Beckenham shop so perhaps other shop managers are better
But petty to stop £2.50 refund very sad
Please display sign in yours shops on items that no refunds can be made”
“Terrible. Last time they omitted a vital part of my prescription. I went to another branch and it took 3 months to discover that an A B or C corridor had been left out. This time I went back to the original,
local branch and arrived to find that they had no record of the appointment I had made. They don’t answer the phone until well past opening time, the automated answer is all you get and then if you opt to speak to a staff member, you are cut off.
Epsom branch is in dire need of some proper supervision. Some genuine enthusiasm and dedication would go a long way to improve customer service. Unfortunately, no one seems very interested in the customers, there is a distinct air of apathy. Specsavers use the term ‘team’. There doesn’t appear to be any sense of teamwork whatsoever. I worked for the NHS until 2 years ago and know what genuine teamwork and patient care looks and feels like. It’s sadly lacking in Epsom Specsavers.”
