“Due to illness I contacted Specsavers home visit service. Telephone staff were courteous, and arrangements were made for a home visit. Visiting optician and assistant were pleasant and courteous. Glasses, however, were unsatisfactory. A second attempt was made, these were unsatisfactory, too. This was followed by Specsavers' failure to keep two appointments and failure to telephone me to explain why. I have been very disappointed with Specsavers' home service. I have asked for a refund. A home optician service is a good idea and could be of enormous help to housebound people, but Specsavers' version of a home service does not come up to standard.”
“The worst customer service I've ever had from an optometrist business.I was made to feel like I should be spending more money on reading glasses frames than I couldnt afford.I wouldn't recommend Specsavers for glasses, there's plenty of other optometrists businesses available to choose from.”
“First time I have bought glasses are Specsavers and, before a year I have marked in the most expensive lenses on the main glasses and in the clip in sunglasses.
When I pointed out the mark in the main lenses it was my fault. I’ve had glasses for 56 years now and am very OCD about how I store them, so it it quite galling to have this aimed at me.
I will be going elsewhere very soon as I can’t stand the mark that is in my eyeline. Specsavers will have seen me as a customer one and only once.”
“Went in to collect a pair of sunglasses that had been sent from one store to another one which is closer to where I live. Tried them on, had them tightened etc. Woman said that they looked too big for my head... so rude”
“Blackburn specsavers. Went back to get correct glasses. Was told to come back wednesday. I advised I finished work at 5 and they said fine we are open till 5.30pm so plenty of time. Got to the shop only to find it closed at 4.30pm so I paid for parking for nothing. Thanks specsavers for the wasted journey and expense. What a joke!!!!”
“Went to the Oxford branch. Optician was clearly in a rush and very grumpy. Despite being told there were plenty of appointments, I had to wait half an hour despite arriving early. Then pressured to buy the most expensive glasses.”
“Optision was good but my test not good going back fpr another field vision my pressure test repeated then wanted to repeat field vision by that time my eys were hurting I think he didnt know machines properly as i had these test done numerous times no problem He had to ask how to start field vision test and my neck was uncomfortable on all test he was short with me telli g me not to move and the chine rest couldnt go lower etc
Came out feeling depressed told him my eys too sore to repeat so going back next week dreading it if same person will walk out and go to another optision after 15 years with spec savers”
“Have been a customer of Specsavers for 4 years and generally been happy with their service.
But was disappointed with the service today. I called into the local branch to get some help as a screw had come off the side of my glasses and all it needed was a new screw to be put back in. Was refused any help as the frame itself had not come from Specsavers and when I asked where I could go to have it fixed was told "I dunno".”
“Not sure how to start, but I just want to write my experience using contact lenses. I prefer contact lenses instead of the glasses but most of the times I had to wear the glasses because am a bit scared of using the contact lenses that I get from specsaver. When i try to get the left contact lense out, half of it gets out and the other half stays in, and hard to take it out. My eye turns red as I try couple of times to get it out . I had to wait at least 48 hours to be able to take it out. I wouldn't come and write this if this had happened once or twice but actually this happens like 6 times from every 30 pairs that I get monthly. The right eye contact lenses are fine and nothing happen but the left is the worse and it get ripped easily while taking it out. I wish that they get better and stronger daily contact lenses, not weak and cheap ones. My eye turns red and hurts and not sure what to do. Specsaver is only way I know I can get contact lenses from, is there anywhere else I can get them from I might be better to try different place. .....Left eye contact lenses are bad try to sort it out.”
“I have had contact lenses from Specsavers for many years. I receive them by post. Replacements have, until recently, always arrived before I’ve run out of previous supply. For the past couple of months I have run out before the next delivery even though I have not used more lenses than normal. So what’s changed? Not happy.”
“Slough branch does provide very poor customer service waiting time 2hours and after you get wrong prescription for the glass which made my eyes watering red painful
Poor spacsever
I would be happy if I get a refund for the money that I paid for wrong prescription, not put me agin with this miserable experience”
“Went with my family to collect my sons glasses. No good welcome and no one asked us or offer us help every one today was working there was just walking around and doing nothing but laughing and talk to their colleagues and seemed to be ignoring us till I had to ask then was told I have to wait and some one will sort us out then we had to wait another 15 minutes standing and everyone just passed us and looking at us and not even to just smile to us and no one asked us or offer us help again till I had to ask then was told oh yah they're here and Finley some one serviced us .also was told my glasses will be ready 2day too from last week but it's not even been ordered yet for me. So its time to go some where else now when I will find more respect to us and to our time.”
“Recycling your frames Sir? Oh no! Buy another 2 pairs of the same frame. It's cheaper!
Booked the appointment online which was very easy to do. On arrival had to fill out a survey that seemed geared to push for frame sales in it's questioning. Very professional eye test and given full explanation of the health of my eyes and what was needed. Staff very helpful. After my eye test I needed new lenses. Wanted one of my current pair of glasses to have just the lenses changed as I saw no point in replacing the frame. The frame is a current stock item. was told for lenses only it would cost me £398. Then I was told due to the 2 for 1 offer if I purchased 2 pairs of frames of exactly what I already have, would come out at £222. In this day and age of recycling why oh why are they trying to push out more frames when I already have frames that were fit for purpose and would then become obsolete for use? Even the staff member said it doesn't make economic sense! Politely told the staff member I will not be purchasing any lenses and not use Specsavers again. Thanked them all and left. Clearly Specsavers do not care about recycling or the needs of their customers and are mainly interested in selling their frames. They need to look at the cost structure of lenses only when the customer has a perfectly usable frame already, especially if it is already a current stocked item.”
“"Liverpool Norris Green branch. Previously I've always been happy with Specsavers. However, my new glasses (less than two months old) are faulty - one leg is damaged. These are the varifocals I use for VDU use at work (so not cheap). I've been told that my local branch of Specsavers cannot order in a replacement pair of frames specifically, and that I will just have to take pot luck and wait for 2 to 3 weeks until a delivery happens to have the correct pair of frames in. This strikes me as totally unacceptable; I spend up to 7 hours a day at work using a VDU and need the correct glasses.Staff rude and seemed untrained. No sense of humour, in fact damn rude. To me they need kessons in courtesy.”
“Staff in shop were lovely, unfortunately the optician was not. This isnt what i expected and if anything, it is usually other way around.Optician wasn't helpful and didnt answer my questions, i left the store feeling as though i had bothered someone and couldn't wait to get out.I didnt have any money on me so i will have to return to collect/order glasses.Hope i don't see the optician again”

“waited well over appointment time not once did anybody from the store
approach me and said they were running late
store phoned 2/12 hours later to apologise and try to get me to reschedule
customer care left a lot to be desired”
“We have always gone to spec savers for our glasses always been happy with the service but not this time the glasses frame isn't very good very cheap and nasty even though there from the Twiggy range plus I can't see my laptop screen so not happy at all this time round I think next time I will be trying somewhere else”
“I went into Specsavers to find a decent pair of glasses. The staff found me a pair they said would fit but wouldn't let me try them on. Took them home, they didn't fit.”
