“I had to replace my previous retractable clothesline as the spring for rewinding had failed. The lines were still fine, there was still full tension to hold a big load of washing, but to retract, it needed to be slowly wound in by hand. This was only a little bit disappointing as the device had been there, in the full sun, for at least 25 years. The replacement Austral, had the same location wall fittings - the bolts the same distance apart- and the same size arm holder - so fitting was a breeze. No drilling into a concrete wall or messing about on the fence. So although there were no identifying marks on the old one I think it was the same brand. If the new one lasts as long as the old one I'll be well over 90 before I need to replace it. Great product.”

“Your survey is a bit early as it only arrived by courier this morning so at this point is still unopened so cannot assess state of the product. Only comment at this stage is that it was ordered and dispatched on Thursday last week by courier and I would consider that it has taken quite a while to get here as it was in stock and withing the same island. I believe it had to change couriers as Castle do not deliver to Nelson, perhaps use of another company if delivery is to an area not serviced by Castle would be a good idea so that goods are received more quickly.”

Hello Karen, thanks for the feedback, Poste Haste/Castle Parcels only deliver urban parcels and hand over to rural post which takes a couple of days longer hence the longer delivery time!

“We did have to buy a laminated post (cut in 2) and put these on the fence to get the height above the 1.8m fence. Also it will need rethreading as my first effort satarted in the wrong place therefore finished in the wrong place and although I thought it was very tight after the first washing the lines are quite sagging.”
