I've just had a complete refund for a £5000 holdiay to America for Easter. Why can't Skyes do the same for £450 weekend cottage in Devon??? I booked well before the current 30 day lock-down for a cottage in May. No refunds given or even offered under this Covid crisis, instead Skyes are withholding monies and offering vouchers for 2021 instead, so I cancelled (loosing my deposit) before the remaining balance was due in fear of loosing that too! Under the laws of 'Frustrated Contracts' what Skyes are doing is both immoral and ilegal. Please Google search 'CMA Coronavirus (COVID-19) response' and fill out the form - only takes 2 mins and these guys will investigate them. My Advise to everyone is CANCELL your holiday before remaining balances are due, otherwise Skyes will keep it, giving you nothing in return. THESE POEPLE ARE TAKING £100's of THOUSANDS OF CUSOMER'S MONEY WITHOUT DELIVERING A THING!

NO COMUNICATION POSSIBLE .E-MAIL ADDRESSES NOT RECONIZED PHONE CALLS NOT ANSWERED IMORAL NOT TO ALLOW REFUNDS. WOULD HAVE REBOOKED IF SURVIVING PRESENT SITUATION 72 YEARS OLD AND IN ISOLATION

This thieving company ought to be ashamed, robbing vulnerable elderly citizens of their money in these worrying and uncertain times. Your current customer base awaiting refunds in these bad times will not be looking for your company to book with when times are good. Sykes cottages is on my boycott list. Shameful company! To any potential future customers, do not use Sykes cottages, they don’t care about their customers or cottage owners, only money. This company is committing absolute business suicide, losing both customers and cottage owners. Sickening.

I will be involving my MP if they genuinely think they will charge me hundreds of pounds for a holiday I cannot go on due to the Covid-19 crisis. What makes this worse is that I am a designated key worker.

While what's going on is bad enough, this company are taking advantage and trying to rip people off. People are losing their lives, jobs and holidays they were looking forward too, but this company doesnt care. Need to cancel our holiday due to the new government guidelines and this sick company want to charge me £500 to cancel. And they WILL take your money from the source you paid your deposit. These people as an absolute discrace and should be shut down. I hope the government catch up with you crooks. And I hope you go bust now.

We were due to go to Bryan cottages in Wales in June. Live in Australia, no refund, wanting balance and exorbitant cancellation This company needs to be looked into! Shocking and unethical behaviour, never again!

Refusing refunds, £20 deposit paid, if I was to cancel they will take an extra £174.40 from me. Ridiculous, I'm variable in quarantine for 12 weeks. Holidays, they want us to take next year are hundreds of pounds more.

Covid -19 aside, I can happily say that I am impressed by the customer service I've received perviously - and look forward to staying at another this winter in lovely Llanberis. Given the circumstances, the current guidance is troubling. However I feel that Sykes - still offer nothing short of commendable holiday lets. On that basis, can only offer a 5* review. I can only imagine what misery anybody working in a call centre can be experiencing right now, and can only commend the staff for managing the best they can given the very often blunt lack of humanity I'm seeing from some other customers.

Horrid customer support, just money grabbers. Not fulfilling customers booking but also not refunding customers. Reply with a blanket email that clearly just sent to everyone.

Due to lockdown, we were unable to go to our cottage in Pembrokeshire from 27/3/20-3/4/20. We were offered the opportunity to rebook for next year at a higher price, which we can’t afford to do.. or lose our money. Currently, we have rebooked as we don’t want to lose our money (we are pensioners) but we’re hoping that Sykes will eventually see sense, do the right thing and give us a full refund.

This company is benefiting from the current crisis by cancelling holidays but giving no refund, they are charging to change dates and have more than doubled the cost of rental on similar dates next year. They appear to be conning cottage owners too. Absolutely disgusting will never ever use them again.

Never been treated so badly by a company in my life to the point it has put me off even going to the destination i booked for as it just reminds me of all the stress and hassle of this company. Even booking places in future it is going to make me so weary as the experience at sykes has been so awful!

You ask whats gone wrong??? What has gone right, you are going to take over 300 pounds when i cancel our family hol, booked for 29th may, booking for next year is not an option for our family

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Shown its true colours in its despicable handling of rental bookings in the current covid19 outbreak, misleading comments to customers, misleading comments to property owners, only allowing rebooking at highly inflated prices, no refunds even though they themselves tell you not to travel and holiday rental owner has refunded them! Have a look here ‘Sykes Cottages Unhappy Customers Page’ on Facebook for further comments. MP's have written to them, Watchdog are on their case, newspaper articles highlighting the error of their ways and its all being ignored by Sykes.”
