Booked for tomorrow. Obviously cannot go due to lockdown. Sykes refuse to refund and owner of cottage says they are technically open..despite gov telling all holiday accommodation busineses that they need to close. Never ever book with Sykes or westhope cottages in Shropshire...

Avoid this company at all costs. They refuse to refund customers who have had their bookings cancelled.

Due to the Coronavirus I was subjected to the 12 weeks isolation which meant I couldn't take the 2 week break I'd booked. Sykes refused to refund. If I cancelled I'd have had to pay a third of the total cost. The only option was to change the booking to a later date. Really disappointed in them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Shown its true colours in its despicable handling of rental bookings in the current corna outbreak, misleading comments to customers, misleading comments to property owners, only allowing rebooking at highly inflated prices, no refunds even though they themselves tell you not to travel. Even fabricating positive reviews from who knows who, so wrong. Also have a look here ‘Sykes Cottages Unhappy Customers Page’ on Facebook for further comments. MP's have written to them, Watchdog are on their case, newspaper articles highlighting the error of thier ways and its all being ignored by Sykes.

Hi we stayed with Sykes Cottages at property ref no 998650 from 21st March -28th March. After one night the boiler broke down and we were left with no heating of hot water for two days. After one day of this they offered us a £250 refund which we have not received. They sent an unqualified handyman to fiddle with the boiler and then we had another 24 hours before they sent a gas engineer out to fix it.

Due to travel 3 April, but they obviously cancelled. Option is to book for next year with a more than 35% price increase for same dates or have a credit. I want a refund, they are not entitled to keep my money for something not delivered. Not happy and would never use this company or any associated companies again. I understand from all the complaint groups many others are in the same situation and even when owners are returning monies Sykes refuse to return it to customer. Awful profiteering from an immoral company!

Due to go in June fat chance of that .so have no option but to cancel as the full payment is not due till 24 April so looks like we will be getting stuffed by them for deposit of £226 hope they go bust serves them right nothing but scum

Impossible to get hold off email or phone. So I had no option other than to cancel. Within minutes took money out of my bank, I replied with email still no response over a week later not impressed. Sending emails thanking me for my booking, I cancelled it !!!

A dreadful company looking to profit from the Coronavirus crisis. Will not give refunds despite in many cases already having received the funds back from cottage owners. Offering only the opportunity to rebook which in many cases is at inflated prices.

Because cannot put any less than 1 star believe me they haven’t earned that. Appalling arrogant handling of Covid19. No refund no ability to change booking to 2021/22 as a 200Per cent hike in price. Will never book with any of their listed Companies.

We’re in the same situation as lots os Sykes customers. Cancelled holiday (paid in full due to go tomorrow, obviously not going) and no refund. Owner said he is refunding but Skyes are keeping our money! Daylight robbery. They’re writing fake good reviews on Trustpilot too. How these good reviews got through to them is baffling. There’s a message clearly stating they’re not taking calls and you can’t leave a message?! We’re NHS workers. I agree with other reviews. The government have clearly said no profiteering from this crisis so why isn’t the CEO being prosecuted? They are robbing the owners AND the customers. Where do we take this?

Cannot travel due to Covid19. They refuse to refund. Would book for same time next year but they've doubled the price. Profiteering. Absolute disgrace. Would never use them again.

Their awful handling of the Covid19 Virus. We’re due to be in our stay this week and have still received no reply to emails, calls or any other form of attempted communication. We’ve spoken to the Landlady who’s stuck as well, said that she’s unable to make contact with anyone. We want to cancel this booking but our only options seem to be rebook for the following year, take credit back into our account. This was a one off occasion and not something that will happen again so where is the option for a refund?!?

Report these 5 Star holiday makers breaching the travel ban to the Chief Constable of Cheshire Darren.Martland(at)cheshire.pnn.police.uk. Whinging on these reviews will go nowhere. FIGHT BACK AND PUT THE PRESSURE ON! The address of Skyes CEO is graham.donoghue(at)skyescottages.co.uk, the Chief Finance Director is michael.graham(at)skyescottages.co.uk, Head of Revenue is ric.saunders(at)skyescottages.co.uk, Commerce Director is harriet.kerr(at)skyescottages.co.uk, their MP is chris.matheson.mp(at)parliament.uk so bomb them with your views. Who are these 5 Star customers going on Holiday during this National lock-down - they are members of staff! So flag these reviews to Trust Pilot as fraudulant. If you've lost your deposit, live with it! there's nothing you can do and the costs of the Small Claims Courts (£240) will exceed your deposits. DO NOT GIVE SKYES FULL PAYEMENTS FOR CURRENT BOOKINGS LATER IN THE YEAR! If you've paid in full, then you must go through the SCC's. Also contact Simon Calder on his website. Expose and link as many people as possible to the reviews on Trust Pilot, Reviews UK, and Skyes Facebook Page which are ALL overwhelmed with negative comments and who are ALL sharing the same subject of refunds. THESE POEPLE ARE TAKING £100's of THOUSANDS OF CUSOMER'S MONEY WITHOUT DELIVERING A THING!
