The taxi driver used my mother's death to weasel an extra £35 out of me. I booked a taxi from Witney to Leominster because I was told my mother was in hospital and would most probably die . When I got in the taxi, I asked the driver if they could take me straight to the hospital in Hereford instead of to my parents' house in Leominster. Doing so made the journey that I had already paid for online shorter rather than longer, and the taxi driver demanded an extra £35 despite the journey being made shorter by this minor alteration. He knew I wanted to go to the hospital because my mother was dying. I hope that extra £35 was worth it for him because I will never forget that driver. He used my distress in order to gain an extra £35 for himself. An honourable and decent human being would have not charged extra because going to Hereford hospital instead, made the journey considerably shorter, and therefore saved him time and petrol money. Not only did this driver lack common decency and compassion as a human being, but they used the distress of my mother dying for their own financial gain. I lodged a complaint with Taxicode and never heard anything back. I doubt now that I ever will because they do not care. Do not use this company as you will be let down at the last minute. I booked 4 cars to transport 17 people between two events in Bath. I was told that I could 'rest assured' as I was in 'good hands.' Clearly not! And now I have to sort out the problem myself. Although you offer other companies on your site, I can't trust you.

SCAM company !! SCAM company !!! Avoid using this company like the plague. Booked and paid £70 for a taxi 6 months in advance for a concert trip to Wembley stadium. I even called and double checked everything was ok a week before. While waiting at hotel for taxi to arrive I received an email 6 minutes before taxi was due to say it’s been canceled. Followed by another email 1 minute later telling me they could send another car but I needed to pay over £250!!!! That’s £250 on top of the £70 I already paid. Thats called extortion. Absolutely disgusting and shameful behaviour by Taxicode They try to leave you high and dry and scam you to rebook at great expense last minute. Very nearly ruined an expensive trip to a concert. Luckily the hotel found us a cab. Trying to get a refund is like trying to get blood out of a stone. Please please please don’t make the same mistake we did and for the love of god don’t use this company it’s totally corrupt and a scam.

Cancelled bus transport on the morning of my wedding, after assuring me there was no chance that would happen. Essentially scammers, and/or deeply incompetent. Avoid at all cost. They have a deeply predatory, and likely legally unenforceable, cancellation policy. They essentially act as middlemen between you and actual taxi companies, but will only attempt to fulfil you at the absolute last minute. For large reservations, this may be in the hopes that you cancel so they can keep much of your money. I had found an alternative bus transport the day before the wedding, and asked them to either confirm that they had found someone or reimburse me so I could go with the alternative transport. They would do neither, eventually cancelling on the morning of. But hey, at least they offered me a £5 off voucher for next time. The most charitable explanation is to say that those I interacted with were, at best, deeply incompetent. Do not use.

On June 17, 2024, I booked a trip for my group of five in a 6 seater VW Caravelle. I paid a deposit ($38.06) and intended to book two additional trips, but the website (THANKFULLY) wouldn't let me put in the correct destination(s) for either of the additional trips... and that's when I came across all of the online reviews for Taxicode. In my booking, I had filled out the luggage section - clearly describing my group's luggage situation/number of bags, and, also, asking for confirmation that the vehicle I booked, and the ones I intended to book, were large enough for my group and luggage. Taxicode never responded to my questions, but went ahead and sent a booking confirmation for a 6 Seater MPV/SUV. At the bottom, in small print it stated: "Your vehicle(s) allows for up to 6 passengers and up to 3 medium sized suitcases. If you have a large amount of luggage please reply to this email before travelling to ensure the appropriate vehicle is provided. If you have more luggage than the vehicle you have requested on the day you may be charged extra." I immediately responded to the booking confirmation email and also contacted them AGAIN on their homepage's "Complex journey" link to seek for answers to the vehicle size and luggage capacity. They never responded. I'm so glad I saw Trustpilot and other review sites who shared their dreadful tales - people who paid only for the drivers not showing up, leaving them stranded, receiving no refund, etc., and left to find alternative transportation. On June 28, I cancelled the trip. Upon cancellation, I emailed twice asking when I'd receive the refund. Taxicode's response was vague and "per our website rules," but never stated anything more and didn't tell me that they weren't intending to refund me anything AND then proceeded to charge my credit card for an additional $47.23 (the day after cancelling)! After my fourth attempt at getting a response, Taxicode "offered" to give me credit for a future trip! My card is now blocked so they can't access it, and I have filed a dispute with my credit card company to handle this situation. "Thank you!" to this community for saving me and my group from using Taxicode and potentially losing even more money. I will never do business with them ever again.

This company are a scam. Double the price of elsewhere. When I realised that and tried to cancel, they take 55 percent of the price you've paid to cancel. It's basically criminal what they are up to. AVOID.

Avoid by all costs, they cancelled my taxi 50min before the pickup time. My husband called several times to confirm the booking, to avoid any issues and have a smooth experience coming back home from the late venue. We have not received the refund yet!

Real score is 0. This company is a scam, I thought I booked a local taxi but the local looking website was a front for Taxicode making me think it was a local company I knew that I was booking. the booking confirmation then confirmed a site in Slough nowhere near where I live. When I rang to cancel the booking which was over a month in advance I was informed the cancellation fee was over 50% of the near £300 booking fee. I booked through Amex so will be registering this as a fraud which it is. This is not a business but is actually a criminal enterprise which should be shut down.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Terrible service; mainly the ridiculous cancellation policy which is like nothing I've ever encoutered before with other companies. No one returned my call so I could never speak to anyone in order to try and amend the booking, which I then cancelled, only to lose 90% of the fee. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

1. Insisted on a “large” (ie: more expensive) vehicle to carry 4 adults. 2. Outrageous cancellation charges (just 10% refund despite cancellation five days in advance) 3. When tried to rebook to avoid cancellation fee was only presented with even more expensive options, or two cars for four people. Ridiculous. 4. Hugely unhelpful customer service. Do not use. Trust me, book elsewhere. Save yourself the hassle and expense.

Wanted price for return trip from London Colney to Gravely, near Hitchen. Herts. (out at 3pm back at 8.45pm ) This so called cheapest fair lot, gave me a price of £325 to £465. So took my time to look around independently . Average price I then was getting was around £170. Finally got Hatfield AAA taxies for £130 return !!!! Thank you Hatfield taxies, great service, good driver. My advice on this site DONT BOVER, DONT USE a load of ****

Can’t give 0 stars. I booked a one-way taxi today for my wedding in December on “sittingbournetaxis.co.uk” thinking it was a direct company site in sittingbourne; and as I made the payment, it went into a 3rd party looking screen; I didn’t panic at this point as I know this can happen with companies online. Anyway i get an email of confirmation from something called Taxicode and it says that my booking will be confirmed 24 hours before the booking date and it’s here I realise it isn’t a direct site, so I thought well that’s no good, I can’t risk us being stranded on our wedding night in sittingbourne. So I called up to cancel and first of all I was hung up on, then I rang again and the same man tried to convince me not to cancel, then when I said I still wanted to he said I would only get 55% back. 55% of a booking I made not an hour before, for a wedding 7 months away?! Disgraceful. It’s a massive SCAM! I’m devastated, and so annoyed with myself

Avoid if you don’t want to be scammed! This company has an exploitative cancellation policy and aggressively unhelpful customer service. I booked an expensive journey using a street address (not postcode – the system did not request one) and received a call to clarify the destination. I was told the wrong destination had been booked, and my options were (a) to pay to cover the difference or (b) to be refunded only 55%. The error was identified within 20 minutes and already I was ineligible for a refund, for a booking over 5 weeks away. This company is making use of a fault in their system to scam customers. Beware!

An error on my behalf when booking online the wrong date but it was noticed straight away once payment was made. I called within 5 minutes to give the correct date and then couldn’t do the booking and wouldn’t refund me £42 which is outrageous as no cost had occurred to the company they just took my money and I had to pay another taxi for the A&E trip

Avoid at all cost... They have just cancelled a booking made over 24 hours ago leaving my daughter and her friends without transport home. Book directly with a local taxi firm to at least have a decent chance of actually getting a taxi!
