Our car broke down at noon. It's been 12 hours, and we're still waiting to be towed home for the second leg of the journey. We've been given another 2-hour wait time... This is ridiculous and very frustratin

Confused as AA advertise accident recovery free to all members. If that is the case how come when my elderly brother was side swiped by a foreign lorry and a kind gentleman came to his aid and phoned the AA with my brothers membership details he was told he had breakdown cover only and refused to come out. It cost him £75 to get a taxi home and the police had to get the car moved. He has been with the AA for over 50 years. We are utterly disgusted.

For the first time ever, we had to call the AA to rescue us after a breakdown. Using their Relay service they took us and our vehicle 220 miles to our home. The two drivers, Mark, and the second whose name I have sadly forgotten, were absolute professionals - courteous, considerate and reassuring. It's good to know there are such people just a couple of phone calls away - Robert.

Bad bad customer service! Mean girl at the counter flight 809A from Miami to San Pedro Sula! Issues with the flight first was delayed layer they load us on the plane and we never took off. Then they told us we had to exit the plane and someone at the gate will give us information. I asked a question just to be yelled at by the person that was supposed to give me some information. I wasn’t even upset until she decided to talk to me like I was her kid.

They use unethical and potentially fraudulent subscription systems. Tried to hike my subscription by 313% from £68 to £281, so I cancelled. Then I saw that I could get exactly the same deal on their website for £91 as a new member. This practice was outlawed by the FCA in 2021 but they have ignored this and bank on customers just accepting it. Anyway, I joined the RAC instead at £50 for a superior service. I have been a member of the AA for 13 years but never called them out for any reason. So much for loyalty.

Please be aware. If The AA recovery service takes your car to the nearest garage and leaves it there, without the garage owners concent because it is closed, and askes you to put the keys though their letterbox. Or take the keys at a later date. (AA tell me this is common practice at the weekend by them if garages are closed ) Your own insurance may not cover theft, damage, or vandalism etc while it is parked on their private property without permission. After a quick mental risk assessment. I refused to let them leave my car outside an unsuitable garage that was closed. I couldn't contact the owner neither could they. It could have been permanently closed or the owner on holiday??? This garage appeared shoddy with only one door. In a remote area. On a main Rd. The AA representative had refused to take my car to either of my two trusted and what I considered to be the safer option garages of my choice. Both under 10ml away according to Google maps. This is only a fraction of the awful events of this recovery. They did reluctantly escort me home all of apx 1mile with me driving my defective car at 10mph. Needless to say. The rest had to be rectified at my own expense. Getting my car towed to my regular trusted suitable and secure garage. My car and I are both in a safe place now. No thanks to the AA. I did check with my car insurance when things had calmed down, I had taken the correct action by not leaving it there because It has been confirmed by my insurance that my car would not have been covered by my policy in this situation. SO CHECK YOUR INSURANCE POLICY BEFORE AGREEING TO THIS. Before they take your car and dump it somewhere you consider unsuitable. Better still change your recovery company.

Absolute scandal i wonder how someone go & buy shares in this company, it charges you yearly fees but offer no services. You lucky if they contact you when you need their help. Absolute west of money. We waited from 2 till 8 in the morning without any help or care.

I,ve just experienced the worst ever breakdown service with the AA in my 49years of driving. Broke down on the Thursday 15th August and arranged a 2 hr slot between 9-00am to 11-00am the next day to get home from Wales. Rang services at 11-30am because no recovery van turned up, informed new time slot 12-45pm. No recovery van turned up changed to 13-40pm Rang services recovery van 20 mins away. No recovery van turned up changed to 14-30pm No recovery van turned up changed to 15-25pm Rang services was told recovery just a short distance away No recovery van turned up changed to 15-35 No recovery van turned up and the text messages stopped. Waited over 8 hrs and had to get help from a mobile mechanic. I believe a recovery van turned up almost 9 hours after the initial time. AA is not a service its a complete disaster of an experience and is dysfuntional.

The AA call handler refused to send a breakdown vehicle because I didn't have proof that I owned the vehicle immediately to hand. I offered to send a screenshot of the monthly payment that I have unfailingly sent to AA Insurance on the first banking day for the last fourteen months. This was refused. I explained that I have Type 2 diabetes and was starting to feel very light headed. The call handler said that I should go to the nearest shop and buy something to eat. I explained that it would be dangerous for me to do so as the area is unsafe after usual shopping hours. Consequently, I had to hire a taxi to get me home at a cost of £14 which I can ill afford. I consider the level of service to have been entirely unsatisfactory given the circumstances noted above. Yours faithfully, Gillian Bryant.

So the AA thinks it’s ok to leave a 72 year old man with medical conditions and his wife in a hot car without water or food for over 5 hours only for the recovery vehicle to show up and take them half way home and then have to wait another few hours waiting for another recovery vehicle.

I am extremely disappointed with the AA’s recovery service. My car broke down on August 5th, and I was assured that it would be delivered to my address within 48 hours. However, a week has passed, and my vehicle is still not delivered. Despite numerous calls to customer service, I keep receiving new, unfulfilled delivery dates. This situation has caused significant disruptions to my work because I need important company items stored in the car. I expected much better service from the AA, and this experience has been incredibly frustrating.
