“My friend and I had arranged a tour of Jordan for 6 days via Amani Tours. Dana was very helpful and responded quickly. Things were organized and we felt adequately prepared for our journey. Our tour guide Emad was exceptional and went above and beyond. His commentary provided a unique cultural and historical background. The sites themselves were well arranged, and the hotels were very comfortable as well. Overall we felt safe in Jordan Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Jordan”

“My husband and I wanted help in planning a delayed honeymoon to Greece, and we stumbled upon an example itinerary of a trip to Athens, Naxos, and Santorini that Elen had planned. We had never used a travel agent before, but it was such a good experience I don't think we'll ever be able to go back to trying to plan our own vacations. Elen met with me multiple times to discuss what we were looking for and then planned every detail, making it so easy for us. We got to explore the history of Athens, then relax on the island of Naxos with a beach day and a full-day cruise, then have the best experience in Santorini with a beautiful hotel, fun tour/dinner, and sunset cruise. There is a lot that went into traveling to 3 different locations for our trip, but we didn't have to worry about a single detail- drivers were set up for us for every experience so we never worried about how to get place to place, etc. Truly can't say enough about travellocal and especially Elen.”

“We did an island hopping tour in Indonesia planned by The7Holiday via Travel Local. Was the first time for us we booked over Travel Local. Contacts with Valerie were lovely, precise, competent and uncomplicated. You simply chat via the portal. The trip proposal was such a surprise to us. We have never seen such an offering in Germany. Hence, we felt in love with their proposal and booked a private trip including Borneo, Flores & Komodo NP, Bali and Gili Trawangan. The boat trips with a Klotok boat in Kalimantan and a seagoing boat in Komodo NP were an absolutely good nature experiences. Very simple, without comfort, but traveling in the national parks like the locals with local food, sunrise & sunset and sleeping under stars. We enjoyed it very much. Very different, Bali and Gili Trawangan brought back the comfort. Beautiful hotel choice. Also very kind and competent guides at our side. But for us, we were overwhelmed by the crowds. It was a culture shock - perhaps exactly as we had been on the small boats before. We realized that this is more of a typical Indonesian travel experience. As it was our first time in Indonesia, it was maybe good to see the full range of things. Next time we would go to Lombok and Flores, enjoy nature and hike off the beaten tracks.”

“After using Travel Local for a number of years, and previously having had a 5* service, my travel companion and I had no reservations in using them again for our trip to Costa Rica. Our remit is always the same, we like to have a tailored holiday, to be centred around animals, in at least 3* accommodation which Travel Local have always achieved in the past. This trip felt like we hadnt used that same company! Our time away was definitely not tailored for two 60+ years of age women travellers, it was more a package holiday for a family with children, given the pools on site with pool bars playing trendy music late into the evening. The tours that we had been scheduled on were all very similar (mostly hikes) and no account had been taken of our age (one of the tours that we had been put on was not recommended for people our age), and at one hotel we were expected to stay in 'bungalows' which were an 18 minute walk for us, with heavy suitcases along a busy road, and were just one step up from being derelict. Luckily the receptionist at the hotel recommended that we upgrade to a larger room onsite, which we felt we needed to do. During the holiday we were in regular contact with the travel agents (GWA @ Travel Local) expressing our concerns and, whilst we did always get a response, they regularly did not address the concerns that we had, hiding behind their response that we had accepted the package that they put together, Yes, we did accept it, based on our previous dealings with the company and relying upon their 'expertise' in putting tailored holidays together for us before. We have been offered a small refund for the trip that we couldnt go on but, again, our other concerns have not been addressed and, quit frankly, we dont have the energy for protracted emails going backward and forward. To say that we are extremely disappointed is an understatement. We have been polite and patient whilst matters have been looked in to, but there comes a point when we need to let others know of our experience so that this situation doesnt happen again. Yes, if you want a child friendly package holiday then this trip will be fine for you but if, like us, you want a tailored holiday to Costa Rica to suit your age and needs, then do shop around. Unfortunately, we are unable to recommend this company and, sadly, unlikely to use them again,”

“Just got back from a trip to Mongolia arranged by Burenjargal of Travel local. It was a great trip, things could not have gone better. Can't say enough about My guide Enji. She made sure everything went as planned. Great person to be around. Made sure there were no problems, and my needs were taking care of. My driver was Tsende. He too was amazing, the way he made his way through the fields and mountains. Always making you feel safe. Mongolian people are wonderful. I give Burenjargal group 5 + stars”

“We worked with Travel Local to set up an 8 day trip to Norway. Meree found out what are goals and interests were and our timeline. We had no previous knowledge of Norway so she set us up with a plan and we trusted it be what we wanted. From the beginning of the trip to the end everything was better than we imagined. The private tour in Oslo was great in learning about the history and culture. Our trip had many train and boat trips that had to be coordinated and her plan had us in the right places at the right time. The variety of the activities was perfect. If you want travel to a place and you don’t know the landscape, this is the company to use.”

“Travel local found an agent 'Joy Mongolia' We were so happy with the iteninary: everything ran smoothly thanks to our guide Enji and driver Mashke. Mongolia is a vast country and an experienced driver is a must. Enji ensured that all of us were comfortable and vegetarians are well catered for. All camps were clean: our favourites being the echo lodge and Gorki Terelij park lodge. The scenery in Mongolia is breathtaking and everywhere you look you will see the brilliance of the sky.”

“We just completed an eleven day tour of Jordan that was fabulous. Working with the TravelLocal consultant in Jordan, Dana, to put together an itinerary that met our interests was straightforward and easy. She had great suggestions. Once we arrived in Jordan we were met by our driver/guide, Emad, who was with us for the entire trip. As he got to know us, he made suggestions for additions to our itinerary that added to our knowledge and cultural experiences on the trip. He spoke great English and was a wealth of knowledge, helping us to better understand the history, culture and current situation and challenges in Jordan and its neighbors. We would recommend TravelLocal, Dana and Emad Fraihat to anyone wanting to visit Jordan. You will not be disappointed.”

“I'd just like to congratulate a part of your team his name is bass and he is a local hero after rescuing a young lady that was on horseback and was thrown of this man stepped into action to save the ladies life and spent all night in hospital by her side and amazing man and now a friend of mine .go see the man on Santa Maria beach Infront of Santa Maria palace the dude with the blue bandana on a beautiful person”

“What a lot of misinformation. No mention of rampant crime, daily electrical blackouts, major potable water restrictions. You need to have your head examined to go there. This is a third world country spiraling down a black hole. Do not believe the adverts. If you want to see animals choose Tanzania 's Ngorongoro valley, northern Zambia south of Lake Tanganyika or even Etosha Pan south of the Caprivi strip”

“Excellent service from Travellocal from start to finish. Magdelena was so knowledgeable & patient in helping us put together our 3 week itinerary for Argentina. It was great having the local back up support of Felippe while we were on holiday. Raoul & Veronica were excellent Guides and Carlito an excellent driver! Great service & prompt replies. “We travelled to Sri Lanka in February 2024. TravelLocal put us in touch with a local agent who put together a generally good tour meeting our wish list. We received a brief set of trip notes after confirming our booking. For each day there were a few pictures and one or 2 sentences saying where we were staying and a description such as "Transfer from Wilpattu to Harbarana, afternoon relax by the pool". We expected a more comprehensive itinerary to be provided prior to departure or on arrival. This never materialised which caused a few problems during our trip. Our driver had the same notes. For example our tour included several days of trekking yet the notes did not include the distances, altitudes or the fact that we needed to carry clothes and toiletries for 1 overnight stay. Our driver assumed we knew this. Hence we spent one night in a basic chilly trekking lodge where they didn't even provide soap never mind toothbrushes! We managed but this could have been avoided by clear communication in the trip notes. Another example was the hotel where we were stayed on our wedding anniversary was meat and alcohol free, this would not normally be an issue but it would have been good to know in advance as we spent the previous days at a remote farm stay and were looking forward to a celebratory evening. TravelLocal only sent a very brief feedback request which is a concern as they should be learning from travellers experiences and looking to fix any problems.”

“We used travel local for the first time on our trip to Colombia. Marie Sophie was our local expert and was incredibly helpful both before, and during, our trip. Marie Sophie understood our requirements and helped us build a fantastic itinerary that gave us a wonderful holiday in this spectacular country. All hotels were fabulous and travel was efficient and safe. The local guides provided were knowledgable and interesting and added hugely to our enjoyment. “We recently used TravelLocal to book a 7-day tour of Dubai before a conference. TravelLocal exceeded our expectations in both the preplanning of the trip and during the trip. They had great suggestions of what to see and do each day and worked everything we had prioritized into the list. They also recommended hotels for our accommodation. They were very detailed and clear and the pricing was great!!! Their people on the ground in Dubai communicated with us each day on WhatsApp sending all the entrance tickets we needed. We had the same driver and guide each day and they were great! If you are visiting Dubai some of the must-sees: Dubai Old Town and New Town, Bastakia area - the Souks (markets), take an Abar boat ride across the river, the Miracle Garden, Global Village, Dhow Cruise, Burj Khalifa (tallest building in the world), Dubai Mall and Fountain show, the Marina. Do a day trip to Al Ain (make sure they take you to the camel market) and to Abu Dhabi the capital. We found Dubai very safe and you can drink the water. The people are friendly but they do ask that you dress respectfully (shoulders and knees covered for women and no t-shirts with rude comments or pictures) We found some Europeans wearing skimpy clothing. I would definitely use TravelLocal without hesitation for any future trip!!”

“Jessia listened to what kind of accommodation, trip experiences and activities we wanted to do and delivered on all of them. She took the basic 21 day trip and tailor made it to things and areas that were of more interest to our group. We all thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Some of our highlights were white water rafting, kayaking , nature walks ( night and daytime). We also managed to arrange a cooking class at on of the hotels and it was so much fun and we learned a lot.”

“Having just finished our second major trip with travellocal our family are confirmed superfans. If, like us, you have Kuoni taste but want more exploration, local people insight etc but still with lovely yet simpler hotels, great food etc....I can't recommend them enough. Vietnam and now India...both travellocal and both exceptional.”
