I would not rely on Trustpilot ever again if I wanted to get true reviews on a company. Not that they would care as they are not making money from the viewers. I was naive enough to go by the star rating of an energy company called Toto. I have had a dreadful experience with them. I now realise that most of their reviews are 1 star or 5 star. The five star ones from people who have recently switched to Toto and the one star are from people who have been with them a few months. Trustpilot advertises that it automates companies review collection with customisable invitations and reminders that are sent to customers after every purchase. In other words, in the case of my energy company it is clear from the five star reviews that people have been asked to give a review as soon as they have switched energy companies. This keeps their star rating high even though they have lots of 1 star reviews. I have also noticed that they have a percentage rating at the top right hand of the page. The figures on here never seem to have changed in several weeks I have been looking and say 53% excellent and 19% bad when quite honestly there seem to be an equal amount of 1 and 5 star ratings. Some people will do anything to get rich, they have no morals at all and don't care who it affects. There have been reviews from people with young children who have had no electricity, even on Christmas day, one woman who said she wanted to kill herself because she had been days without electricty, a woman concerned about her 85 year old father with heart trouble who was getting upset and people using food banks because the company is taking direct debits after they have left. It is disgusting that Trustpilot encourage these terrible companies to keep there star ratings high the way they do.

Not caring or professional. These words were entered in a review on Trustpilots website for a company (home breakdown insurance) that left my daughter alone and in despair. So here comes the best part, wrote the same on "Trust Pilot" and turns out that the company in question, must have some sway on them, as TP came back quoting "containing language that’s accusatory or defamatory". Seriously? Defamatory? Accusatory? For the use of words "Not caring and Professional" . So what is the purpose of doing reviews? Seems like TP get financial gains from companies and fail to represent the customer. Imagine how many reviews posted by customers have been withdrawn?

I don't trust them to be objective and not cherry pick favourable reviews. They seem to work for the company not consumer

Should Trust Pilot and /or Cylex, read this then please do respond to this e-address as I would like some answers pertaining to the WARNING: DialogueBox that appeared stating some reviews which should maybe not have been written by Trust Pilot employees? Furthermore, Cylex, maybe Trust Pilot doesn't as (I should maybe stick to Google Reviews) permit to edit already submitted reviews. Not least of which given spacing wasn't furnished there in.Notably lines to prevent confusion, as now intelligible pubished reviews all of which have been furnished to Police Scotland in respect of this matter, Trading Standards and also Citizens Advice Bureau,Councillors/Council, MSP'/Scottish Executive., MP, Secretary of State for Culture/10 Dwoning St, Digital and also Cultural Commissioners/Brussels too. This in addition to all know local, regional, national media contacts inclusive of tv. Because what I write can and is invariably truthful, the way it should be, as in each and every instance, it can be protracted, hence I shouldn't have to due to space constraints, use links to start and finish elsewhere, especially when so many like Munro & Noble, Allied Souter & Jaffrey, Newton Properties (and even other links pertaining to health and /or safety are involved) cite them within a review to give a full and honest account....please advise asap to equitably resolve this... vivisectors_politiciains_and_the_law_are_murderers@hotmail.com How I wish one could invariably write praiseworth reviews as I had for The Inverness Green Cleaning Company, the only good thing in this sorry saga, as I will now yet again, have to relocate until such time as I am lobbying the aforementioned for, retrospective legislation.

Not recommended. They delete genuine reviews of customers for free accounts. They only serve the paid customers. It is really sad practice.

trustpilot do not care about the businesses and hide behind the fact they are trying to give a fair standing point for customer feedback. You can't call and speak to a member in the compliance team only contact via email. As if your not busy enough responding to false reviews they have allowed to be posted on their site. They even decide not to take down totally false opinion reviews with totally inaccurate information as that doesn't breach "THEIR" guidelines. PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR SLANDER!!

1st complaint - cannot review actual product. What is the point of the site. I change review to focus on customer service only per TrustPilot request. 2nd complaint - company cannot find me in product registration database. I point out the product was a birthday gift from my wife. Therefore, I cannot provide order information. They will therefore deny my review. I call seller. They finally find me and say they do not report complaints on TrustPilot. Someone is lying and all negative reviews seem to disappear. Worthless site with bloated ratings.

Trustpilot posts fake reviews. I posted negative, genuine review about UK flooring direct. It has been removed immediately.

Gives an opportunity to pass on praise where it's due, and as well as a kick in the pants where it's not. All based on personal experience, not hearsay

Hundreds of fake or paid for reviews for Homeaway (VRBO) in the last 48 hours. Seems to correspond with "Book Direct" day which educates the traveling public to avoid VRBO "booking fees". Funny how suddenly in the last 48 to 72 hours they were ALL posted.

For the love of god STOP contacting me. I've requested 7 times with 7 different representatives to take me OFF their contact list. NOBODY IS LISTENING. Absolutely unprofessional, annoying, and disrespectful.

Trustpliot cannot be trusted at all. They are an absolute joke! I left negative review about people per hour who are still sending me unsolicited emails when I have asked them to stop, and trustpilot have removed my negative comments. How can you be an impartial company when you don't leave negative comments about organisations which have been written factually by the public. I shall never use the site again.

As a consumer, their reviews are deliberately misleading by the selective omission of negative reviews and the manipulative management of fake reviews. Consequently, as a digital marketer, I advise my business clients to avoid Trustpilot - the irony is in the name.

The reviews that have been posted for several companies that I have researched are clearly fake reviews. Any negative reviews are quickly followed up with positive reviews to balance the rating. This gives an unfair reflection of what is really happening and is unhelpful when trying to obtain a clear picture of how a company is treating its customers.
