PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU USE TURO. Like so many others I’ve used Turo twice and had good experiences. The third and final time using Turo was on a very well planned trip to Hawaii for our 10th Anniversary. We started planning eight months in advance, which included the Turo rental paid for six months prior to our arrival. We wanted a Jeep Wrangler… Daniel offered a 2012 with some quirks, not perfection but was good transportation to get around the island and the price was great (if it’s too good to be true…) $700 for eight days. Pick-up was to be at his address 211 Kellog st, Wahiawa, Hi which is about 45-60min away from the airport. Drop off is at the same location unless you want to pay $60 to drop at the Airport. (Which we did) Sounds good- This was what we paid for, this was doable for sure! Luggage and all! Two months prior to travel after reviewing our Itinerary my wife and I went over the Turo description again. Something different was added to the description which looked like it would benefit us. Click on: DETAILS Click on: TRIP RULES Click on: PICK UP DETAILS “Vehicle will be parked in terminal 2 departures parking structure. We will give you further directions before trip start.” I reached out to Daniel to see if the Jeep was available to be picked up at the airport rather than taking a $50 Uber ride to his location. No response from Daniel on that question. It does say he will contact you via email the day before to give final details. Travel day- after 9 hours of flying I turn my phone back on to see a message from Daniel. “Hi SHANE thank you for traveling all the way out here to wahiawa! We do have a lot of good eats here and we are less than 10 minutes away from north shore! You can come pick up your jeep 2012 Jeep Wrangler TNX392 at 211 Kellog Street, Wahiawa, HI 96786 behind the green apartments in the corner parked along the roadside. Doors will be unlocked with keys in middle console.” “I responded by saying I thought it was available at the airport?” We were sitting and waiting for our luggage so I responded a few minutes later after talking with my wife. “We are getting luggage grabbing an Uber and will be headed your way shortly.” Arrived at the address… no Jeep and No Daniel. I tried to contact him several more times before the Uber had to leave us with our luggage in the middle of some neighborhood. After flying 9 hours, paying an Uber $60… (They were awesome!) I contacted Turo Customer Service… very nice, Very Very Sorry we were standing in the middle of nowhere, on our 10th anniversary because their Host was a NO SHOW. Offered to get us another car, but couldn’t find anything. I asked for a refund, she said of course in 5-7 days. So, we called another Uber, $60 back to the airport and rented a convertible Mustang for $1100 from Budget. We lost 4 hours total. Screw TURO. We are having an awesome vacation!

Have been a loyal Turo customer for years and have never had a problem. However, we won't be using Turo anymore and will be discouraging others from doing so. This last weekend, we booked a vehicle to use between when we disembarked from our cruise and when we needed to be at the Miami airport the next day. I messaged the owner of the vehicle to request a pick up and port and a drop off at the Miami airport. No reply until the start of our trip when the owner sent a picture of the vehicle 15min away. When we tried to contact them, all they stated was that we don't provide delivery. I tried to inquire about what we could do to resolve the issue and they refused to reply. I even tried to call them without success. When I called Turo customer support, the lady we talked to (Yang) was unwilling to help us. She refused to let us speak to a supervisor and kept reminding us that a cancelation would result in a penalty (~$32) on our side. Yang also tried to contact the owner of the vehicle without success. Very upset that we were made to pay for the miscommunication (really non-communication) by the owner of the vehicle we were trying to rent. Again, we will not be using Turo again and encouraging others to do the same.

I had a terrible experience with Turo, I rented a car that did not have a spare tyre. It never occurred to me to check, who rents a car without a spare? So, I had a flat, it took for ever to send someone over, and they are still asking me to pay for the tyre. Never using Turo again.

Turo’s customer service experience has been disappointing, with many representatives from the Philippines call center appearing confused or unprepared. The wait time for resolving a query can extend to an hour. Even after a week of following up with customer service, the issue remains unresolved. All I receive on each call is a new ticket number. It’s quite frustrating! This situation highlights the need for Turo to consider employing staff based in their operating countries to improve understanding and service quality. Relying on less expensive customer service solutions risks damaging the brand's reputation.

I rented a vehicle and paid $1,000. They canceled it 2 days before my trip but I never got a text message they sent me an email. I don't read my emails every day. My money was tied up for 3 days. That's a lot of money to tie up. I never used hero before and I never ever will again. I would never recommend this I sat on the phone at the Chicago airport for 2 hours and they were not able to help me get another car. I rented from Enterprise and it was cheaper and so much easier.

Beware!! You have no protection as a customer/renter. Hosts are random people renting out their cars and you're at the mercy of how they run their own business and do maintenance on their car. There are absolutely no regulations. I rented a car two months ago, then the driver randomly charged me for parking two months later. I talked to support and the driver has SIX months to submit claims against you. It's insane. You're better off renting a car from costco or another professional car rental company where you're covered and they won't charge you for fees after. All of the fees etc, add up and you actually don't save that much money compared to normal rental companies. Please think this over before you get into a bad situation.

Crooks! I rented a vehicle and took immaculate care of it. 2 days after returning it I was charged a $160 fee for having a pet in the vehicle, WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. They must have found a few pet hairs from our clothing since there were dogs in the house we stayed in and decided to use it as an opportunity to get more money. I disputed the charge through Turo to no avail. Fortunately my credit card company found in favor of me so I’m off the hook. But I will never use Turo again and will tell all my friends and clients not to as well. BEWARE.

We didn't even have the experience the guy was probably a scammer and not only to boot has my info I don't even think this app has a no screenshot photo policy or I.t code for it . Also the lady that spoke to the payer was extremely rude, unethical and if I was in his position I'd call the fraudulent department. I don't want any response back nothing said will change the experience we had with the host and the one customer serves rep . This was a beach trip and on top the guy took the money and canceled the car . The host canceled not the payor so all in all the review star is to high for my liking. I just pray for there sake that my info was completely erased from the system and that host and the contract this company has with them needs to be revoked . Doesn't matter how long they have had it they have probably done this before and gotten away with it . It was too sketchy and from work through professional in the car industry they say it's risky . So here is my review since it was cancled and i was the driver i have no more to add from now I go to a BBB CERTIFIED company cause anything can be claimed by the host that a renter did but most likely didn't seems like a good way to scam .

They are fine with car host cancelation at the last minute leaving customers to scramble to fine available car alternatives. Host ratings are not effected by last minute cancelations as long as host says reason is "mechanical". There support is horrible also... bunch of kids in some country that has difficulty with English. Avoid!

I’ve only used Turo once. Their arrangement is a little strange. The owner of the vehicle gave me an address where to meet. Turns out it was McDonalds. I thought I was at the wrong location so I contacted the owner but got no answer. I waited ten minutes and the owner arrived. The car was ok. Nice car…not the cleanest car but ok for the price. I used the car for three days and retuned it to the same location. The owner inspected the vehicle before I left and found $20 on the front driver floor. She ran over to me and said “you dropped this”. I appreciated her honesty so much that I told her to keep it. Renting this Turo car was a lot cheaper than renting from Enterprise that’s for sure. But be careful, be selective, and pick out a higher priced car because no matter what, it’ll still be cheaper than a rental from a rental agency but you’ll probably end up happy that the car is in good condition. And folks, respect other people’s property. Return the car the way you found it and take lots of before and after pictures. Overall, I didn’t have a bad experience. I’ll probably rent from Turo again. Peace to the World!!

After I told my niece how Turo was she wanted to give them a try. She rented the car for two days not knowing about all the fees and stuff. She said they charged her card $472.16. She told them she wanted a refund and they refunded her $200 and something dollars and told her she would get the rest when she returned the car. Mind you she didn’t even get the car. Now they’re talking about 3 to 5 business days before she gets the rest!! I’m telling y’all Turo is a mess!!! Y’all better go in to these other rental cars because Turo are a bunch of crooks!!!

Don’t ever rent from this company. They’re terrible and have terrible hosts. First time using Turo and the host named “Artem S” was unnecessarily rude and at the end of the trip he was forcing me to give him a 5 star rating watch I refused. The next morning after returning the car back he lied to Turo and said I damaged the side of his car which was a big lie. The host was there when I returned the car and inspected and checked it before ending the trip and he told me I could go. But all of a sudden he lied I damaged his car cause I did not give him a 5 star rating. And I’ve explained to Turo and showed them proof yet they are still trying to charge me. Very bad company. Please stay away from this company and the host. His name is Artem S

I would NEVER USE TURO AGAIN. They have admitted to misidentifying my license classification and now will not refund my cancellation fee. Even though they cancelled my booking. I have spend hours upon hours upon hours on their chat support to rectify however to no avail. They pass you around to different departments continuously to pass responsibility. It’s an absolute joke this company and extremely expensive and just applauding service. The new excuse today is that my name didn’t match the original booking. Which is false and was not correct and they won’t show evidence of that. Avoid at all costs. They do nothing but make your life a living hell. AVOID THIS PATHETIC COMPANY

EVERYTHING went wrong. Car Owner is a LIAR who filed a false damage claim. The company itself is all offshore when dealing with customer service. I have been disputing the false damage claim with pictures as proof of the false claim and they charged my credit card over 6000 dollars while also trying to make a claim with my insurance company. I cant get a straight answer and all employees speak terrible broken english....who can help with this kind of bad business? Why do we let foreign companies do business with us and not be accountable to any standards of ethics. NEVER AGAIN would I rent from this company! RUN!!!!!!

Oh my goodness I rented a vehicle. $1,100 was leaving on my trip today and figured I would go on to my churro app and see exactly where to pick up the vehicle. They said it was canceled.. when I called them they wanted to rent me a vehicle that was a lot smaller and instead of $1,100 I would pay $1400, but I had to wait 2 hours for it to get to the airport. I pulled up on my app Enterprise and rented the vehicle for $900, it's a beautiful big vehicle that sets seven. NEVER AGAIN.. I would not recommend. So frustrated! That 2 hours on hold with the guy fron Turo. They would not help find a vehicle for the same price.

Turo regularly screws the hosts. Turo always sides with the renter no matter how terrible they are. Damage to car; late returns, fees, tolls, gas etc. The host ALWAYS loses. Now they are implementing more ways to screw the host if they need to cancel. Terrible. Gouge prices, poor customer service. Worst

I rent a car from All-Star Host Christopher D. Omaha, nothing was said that I would have to pay to get car out of garage until after the booking. He than said it would be $13.00 so I figured ok but when I went to exit the garage it was $30.00. So now 8 weeks later I get an invoice for $15.45 for them picking up the car. I disputed it thought he should eat the charge and next thing I know I was charged for it. I am going to dispute the charge with my credit card company so I don’t think I will ever use Turo again.
