I phoned the courier company on Saturday morning and was put through to their international hq who gave me a number for the UK depot. I phoned them and they said someone called Lee had signed for it. “I made a purchase from Value Basket in good faith that the product would be shipped from stock. It appears that the item (a camera) had to be shipped from Hong Kong.
As a result, I received several voicemails from the courier (DHL) telling me that I must pay £15 for import duties, VAT and admin charges before they would release the item!!!
As this happened over the weekend, I could not reach DHL - who could not be bothered to call but rather left BT voicemails.
I do not expect I will use Value Basket ever again since the process is simply too painful and stressful. I doubt that I will receive the gift (for my wife) by Christmas now - I am very disappointed.”

“Purchased camera on 10th December for £329 and it has still not been shipped. It's a present for my daughter and is unlikely to arrive on time. Got an e-mail saying I had priority delivery at no extra cost but Ben I tracked my delivery it's still with FedEx and not even been dispatched. “Ordered an expensive camera, paid by PayPal, all going good. Email shipped according to customer support and a tracking number received for DPD the courier.
I checked with DPD and found the item held in Oldham (Birmingham) for days. When I called DPD they said a record had been created for the delivery hence the issue of the tracking number but the actual package had not been received by DPD from valuebasket.co.uk. DPD said that the package was coming from abroad; according to valuebasket.co.uk it was coming from Milton Keynes.
So far, no package and no likelihood of it, in time for Christmas at least.”
