“It is impossible to speak to a real person outside office hours. I live outside the UK and needed assistance with a transaction - had to wait 12 hours. Their login protections are ridiculously overprotective - had to submit either a password or a OTP six times to allow me to transfer money - and then they stopped the payment without any explanation. Banking is time-sensitive! These people are in the dark ages. I will be closing my account and sending a complaint to the banking ombudsman.”
“It seems Virgin have no idea what they are doing having being bought and sold and are now incapable of running a bank. I was able to open and account and deposit funds without providing additional ID (presumably because I"m an existing customer). However my account was soon blocked leaving me with no access to my cash. I provided the requested ID, but still have no access to my cash. Getting in touch with them is proving impossible. My complaint to them has gone unanswered after 3 weeks (yet they can respond to a TrustPilot review in less than 12 hours).
I was on hold writing this and got cut off yet again. A quick search shows me several people have had similar issues, with the ombudsman getting involved.
