“Waitrose has always been my supermarket of choice, and their customer service has always been spot-on in my experience, but I'm writing this review because they went above-and-beyond in response to a complaint. I ordered four food items which were advertised at a weight around 7.5% larger than the actual weight stated on the packaging; this was a new item so I understood this to be an incorrect listing. I emailed Waitrose customer service regarding this, expecting at most a refund for the items, which were worth around £10. Instead, Waitrose sent me a gift card for £24. I didn't need to hassle them for this; I simply sent one email to customer service and received the gift card through mail a few days later. I've been shopping with Waitrose for most of the last decade. My first experience with Waitrose was when I moved to Ipswich for a couple of years, and spent some time shopping at both the little Waitrose in the town centre, and the larger out-of-town Waitrose, before moving back up north and using predominantly online shopping. On the rare occasion that there is a mistake with my order, I have been refunded without question. When an item isn't available within the correct use-by date, it is given for free as a reduced item. If you are a Waitrose member, you receive vouchers worth a significant amount (I currently hold vouchers worth £18 off of a £100 order). The majority of items are priced the same as other supermarkets, so these savings aren't just money off of overpriced goods, they're real. Finally, as Waitrose is part of an employee-owned cooperative, there is some satisfaction in knowing that the people you deal with have a genuine stake in providing you a good service, and that your money is going 100% towards the people who work for the company.”

“In our busy schedule home delivery is now our new way to shop. The delivery drivers are polite and on time. But this review is for Karen, who went out of her way to deliver my shopping that I missed as I mistakenly booked my appointment in the morning rather than night(what a silly mistake). Top notch service! Thank you :)”

“Lovely driver, great produce. Loved the fact they are reducing waste. My order had very short dated item and they gave it to me for free which meant it wasn't wasted as I was able to use on the day but equally didn't feel ripped off by the short date. Well done Waitrose.”

“I sometimes buy food products that I would not normally purchase when you have reduced the price. I bought your slow cooked belly pork in a fruity ale glaze and have just had it. Wow. Full of flavour and the meat could have been eaten with a spoon. Matched with your charlotte potatoes it was an amazing meal. Something I will buy again.”

“I have visited Waitrose in South Harrow on Friday 05/04/19. The staff is always so helpful there. However I would like say a special Thank you to Aki from the Bread Counter. I absolutely love olive ficelle rolls, however they are always sold out. When I asked Aki if there are any left, he said no however he said that he would check the freezer, to my surprise. He found some in the freezer and kindly baked it for me in 10 minutes. Now if this isn't a fantastic customer service I don't know what is! Aki thank you for your amazing customer service and going the extra mile. You have made my weekend.”

“I went to enquire about a particular plant and Emma & Anna were outstanding at the Newport Pagnell Road store Northampton they rang other stores went on google for me trying to source this particular plant whe's name was that of my dad who had just passed they have put my faith back in the human race for excellent customer service and being so very caring nothing was to much trouble I want to thank these 2 waitrose gems from the bottom of my heart X”

“Did your recipe with Cod and prawns with fennel and white wine this week and it was delicious. Would like to thank eyanne for her help by printing off recipe giving us prawns and getting fennel for us on 24/3/19. Sorry its taken so long to get around to doing this and don't know if have name right but will certainly do it again and the fennel was delicious first time we have had it.”

“I will travel an extra few miles so that I can shop at Waitrose. I have shopped at all supermarkets and find that fresh fruit and veg, when purchased at Waitrose, lasts longer. I think Waitrose tends to buy produce that is more fresh, which is why it lasts longer. I can get more obscure foods from Waitrose too, whereas other stores don’t tend to have it. Really liking the Waitrose own cleaning product range ‘Ecologocal’ - cheap, cleans brilliantly and plant based so it’s biodegradable. Customer service is always excellent. It’s my one stop shop, go to store for quality and all in all, an enjoyable shopping experience. Thank you Waitrose. I’ll be back.”
