I bought a chicken tikka masala 350 grams as our Boxing Day curry. It was supposed to feed two, the sauce was lovely, but there were only 8 really small pieces of chicken in it and I do mean less than bite size! My husbands comment of ‘ its a good job I’m not my usual level of hungry, as I could eat that by myself’ prompted me to write this review. It’s possible that we got the packet that was the end of the factory run?, but if not then next time I’ll buy a jar of sauce, chicken and make my own. Probably cost less than £4.95 too. I can’t fault the quality but the quantity left a lot to be desired.

One month before Christmas this year, I attempted to order my Christmas Turkey for collection a few days before Christmas at Waitrose's Comely Bank branch. Imagine my disappointment when the website advised that the Turkey which I selected was "sold out." "Sold out" one before Christmas, I ask you. I wrote to the new Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, (John Lewis owns Waitrose) stating that this failure, on the part of a major supermarket, to balance supply and demand was reminiscent of the former Soviet Union Food Distribution System and not what a regular customer expects from a major retailer in a modern market economy. I received a reply from Waitrose telling me that they "work with their suppliers." I am certain that Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Asda all work with their suppliers - it beggars belief that any of them would not work with their suppliers because it is in their interests to do so. Waitrose made suggestions of alternative Turkeys which they were able to supply but the fact remains they could not supply what I wanted one month before Christmas. The tone of the reply was perfunctory telling me that they work hard "to supply the products that I love" One of their "helpful" suggestions was ridiculous because I am diabetic and a treacle glazed turkey is not a good choice for a diabetic. Not enough concern or attention was given to the failure of Waitrose being completely sold out of something one month before Christmas. As a result of this, I have been shopping at Tesco and have found that it has improved beyond all recognition at my local branch with the items that I want to buy sitting on the shelves without any excuses for non availability; and very helpful staff around the store. I heard a manager at my local branch thanking a girl working on a display for doing such a good job. Appreciating workers is an underused tool in workplaces these days.

I bought a pack of your own soft white toilet rolls recently and the quality has changed considerably. I won't be buying them again. The circumference was smaller the width was smaller but the hole in the middle was much bigger.. They were embossed not plain as before so the surface was rough not soft and worse still the new roll weighed 105 grams but one from my older pack weighed 166 grams.

I went to Waitrose yesterday to purchase a packet of Villiger cigars as it is one of the few “ luxuries “ I have. I was shocked that Waitrose charged over 25% more than another supermarket a few hundred yards away (Morrisons). Unfortunately Morrisons had a problem with their tobacco shelves and couldn’t access the product.Whilst I reluctantly accept that Waitrose is usually a bit more expensive for food items,I cannot understand how they can do so for a like for like product. To me it is simply profiteering

Purchased a festive ham £25.00. Very disappointed. More like reconstituted ham, completely flavorless. Also bought cheese biscuits which were stale and soft, but had a best before date of August 2024!! Absolutely awful.

Collected and paid £30= for a turkey crown on 23rd December, cooked as instructions on 25th, what a disappointment. The meat was tough and lacking in taste. A family Christmas meal spoilt for us. No good all the TV advertisments when the products do not meet even a reasonable standard. Very poor.

Waitrose Chicken Chow Mein ready meal. Chicken content consusted of a few lumps of fat. Horrible. Cost over £5. Disappointing as I've had better quality from Waitrose in the past.

TEMPORAMENTAL 'Quick Check' Handsets!! On Several Occasions, seemingly every other time I shop in Waitrose, the 'Quick Check' Handset I have been given decides to 'throw a wobbly'. Sometimes, as I am logging my shopping, the 'Quick Check' Handset decides not to recognise the item, at other times the handset doesn't recognise the advertised in store discount, on one occasion, half way through my shopping, the handset died and had to be replaced (fortunately my shopping was logged onto the replacement handset), I often have to ensure that shopping is logged even when the handset makes noises to the effect that it has recorded my shopping only to discover that the temperamental device has not recorded the item and I have to re-input it. On one occasion I logged an item into the 'Quick Check' Handset only for the 'Quick Set' handset to reject it, I then re-logged the item on the handset which it accepted, I checked the basket to make sure! When I proceeded to the self-checkout, the self-checkout did not recognise the shopping in my handset, an assistant was called and after some time she managed to get the self-checkout to recognise my shopping, not for the first time, except for the one item which had been previously rejected by the 'Quick Check' handset and which I had made sure was listed in the basket of goods when I re-logged the item! The assistant was very helpful and apologetic, I surmise this may be a regular occurrence! Either Waitrose 'Quick Check' handsets are not fit for purpose or one/some Waitrose staff are playing 'silly buggers' or both! Either way I object to being overly surveiled and patronised when you offer temperamental 'Quick Check' handsets as a 'convenient' option. The 'Quick Check' handsets and the decline in customer service from more senior staff are a 'rapid check' to SHOP ELSEWHERE!

Why is Waitrose fruit so bad , it has the worst , but most expensive fruit of any of the larger supermarkets. I am fed up buying a pack of fruit , only to throw it in the bin . So I don’t buy fruit there .

Okehampton branch is really going downhill. Long queues as checkouts, dusty floors/shelves. Last week the handbaskets were stacked in the middle of the doorway causing a tripping hazard. New voucher scheme only works for those with the app or a printer - discriminates against the elderly. It also causes huge delays at the tills whilst people are fiddling around with their phones trying to load the app and locate the vouchers. This weeks 'special deals I might like' contains items I've never bought so how are these items selected? What happened to customer care? Why stop the free coffee and newspaper for loyal shoppers? Having a loyalty card now gives you nothing.

The Levantine Slow Cooked Chicken tasted ok, but Minute portion. How Waitrose think one small piece of thigh is enough per person as part of a main meal baffles me! Just lucky much more food was cooked that evening with expectations of freezing but it was eaten to fill the gap!!!

This new app is simply too complex. The free newspaper and coffee was liked and simple to use. Trying to operate this new app for a few pennies off is simply not worth the effort. Tesco, Sainsbury and M&S so simple and easy to use. Goodbye Waitrose!

We are frequent Waitrose customers and often buy an organic half leg of lamb from Waitrose for Sunday lunch, although recently, they have been rather small. This week we purchased a 0.694k organic half leg of lamb for Sunday lunch. There were only two of these in the store and both (again) of a rather small size for a family Sunday lunch. However, as this was all that was to be had, we purchased the above 0.694k. Infuriatingly, when we unwrapped it to cook it, we found an enormous bone taking up a fair bit of the weight (this is not the first time this has happened with a Waitrose organic half leg of lamb). Consequently, it was even less adequate to feed a family and we had to make a dash to Sainsbury to buy one of a decent size! Out of interest, I weighed the bone (raw) and it came in at 210g - making up almost a THIRD of the total weight of 0.694. As the miniscule joint cost £11.10 I think this is appalling value. Disappointed.

I agree what a shambles at the tills for us customers and also the staff who are trying to work this unwieldy app voucher scheme. I spent 22 minutes trying to log onto the O2 service at my local Waitrose, while facing a poster highlighting the importance of the customer satisfaction to Waitrose-ha, ha. I then gave up, as shopping should be a pleasant experience and this definitely was NOT-it deserves a zero minus. I also feel that the scheme now discriminates against all those without smart phone. I was a regular customer but will be transferring my weekly shop to M and S especially now the free paper offer has also met an untimely demise.

I want to start a survey on what peoples thoughts and first impressions are about this Aberdeen Angus Minced Meat. £9-99 Kilo, but at the time of photo was on offer for £6-99 Kilo. 1) Does it look like Best Aberdeen Angus Minced Beef? 2) Would it give you confidence that your meal would be tasty? 3) Would you buy it? 4) If you were the Store Manager, would you have displayed it? 5) or am I being fussy on the quality of the Aberdeen Angus Minced Beef. And expecting too much for my money? The Store Manager believes all the above would be answered with a YES from the customers. I would appreciate your views so I can pass these on to the Store Manager and Head office. I’m a great believer in ‘ If we don’t complain, businesses will continue to lower their standards’ They become too complacent in their success.
